It's quite remarkable that we lost 6-0 just a weekish ago and then produce two wins, especially this one. The pressure in first half was top class and it was nice to see some of our players play to their potential.

Sorry for not reading all the comments before posting my thoughts. A lot of this is probably redundant.
Branthwaite is immense. Our best defender in the past decade or more. Since Leighton and Seamus were flying down the wings years ago.  For what feels like the first time ever we were extremely fortunate with VAR. The hand ball is a stonewall pen. You could also make a case for both fouls.  Which leads me to: Ashley Young is going to give me an ulcer. He's a pen and/or red card waiting to happen in every game.  We're still dreadful. I've seen better passing at a U12 game in upstate New York. 

Would absolutely love to Klopp a good fucking in his last derby.
I can't see it happening but at least not winning won't cause me so much panic like it would have if we hadn't won yesterday.

it was clear that Dyche didn't fancy the lad, regardless - you do not smack/slap a player on the back of the head.
i will repeat the same question - would Dyche do the same to a big Dunc character?  - no chance.  Why? - cos a no nonsense bloke would get up and chin you for doing it. 
 
Dyche doing that has basically insulted Patterson in front of his teammates - watch any podcast on YouTube with ex players, they do not take disrespect lightly. A manager putting himself in a situation where he has to apologise to players in front of others is the end..... it's game over. 
 
he never had anywhere near enough credit in the bank to get away with this.

Everton's points penalty hurts the club at the worst time, according to former Toffees chief executive Keith Wyness.
A two-point deduction for breaching profit and sustainability rules has dropped the club to 16th in the Premier League.
They are two points above the relegation zone having already been hit with a six-point punishment, reduced from 10 after an appeal for an earlier breach.
Nottingham Forest, 17th in the table, were hit with a four-point deduction last month and are appealing.
"These clouds have been hanging over Forest and Everton and this is a time when you have players deciding if they are going to move on, it’s the time when they make these decisions with their agent," said Wyness, who was Everton's chief executive between 2004 and 2008.
"This goes way beyond a points deduction of 'two points and that’s all it is'. It impacts the club in so many ways. You can’t get sponsors to commit because they don’t know what division they will be in next year, you can’t get players to commit.
"The impact goes way beyond what should be considered a fair penalty for a breach."
 
And I fully agree. The psychological factor cannot be neglected.

It feels very much in our own hands fixture wise. 8 games to go. 5 of those against teams in 15th, 17th, 18th, 19th & 20th.
Really hope that, even though it was a penalty, DCL gets a boost in confidence. A nice 5 or so goals could make a big difference for us.
All in absolute hope of course!!!

He can only say so much. That’s an excellent statement from him that gives me a lot of confidence in his ability going forward. Assuming he’s allowed to play a part.
