Putting a decisive, fast passer with an excellent engine and intelligent runs for 1-2's into CDM is not a bad idea in my opinion. In fact, couple that with the facts that fast, direct passing with energy is something desperately required in midfield, and that we have an excellent prospect coming through in LB who we need to nurture, its common sense to at least try.
 
No doubt, it would take some getting used to, but its different and people would not know what to expect. Alternatives? Stick with Barry.

Did everyone actually watch kone today? we play far better with him in the side. People need to get out of there head that if he doesn't score he's shit. I have come to the conclusion that kone is not a goal scorer, he is a link up player. He drags defenders everywhere and brings out the best in the players we have paid an awful lot of money for.

I've noticed for a while now that you always see Naisy giving him advice on the pitch and looks like he will tell him when he's done something wrong.

He's sticking out because he can see a forward pass. Nobody else in this squad can see them like him. It's his footballing brain and passing ability!

Garbutt makes me think we can sell baines. He's that good.

I know Howards the number one keeper but if he drops Joel thats very bad management from Roberto, the young lads confidence is sky high at the minute and he's only going to get better with more game time especially against teams like Chelsea. Lets hope Bobby has only came out with this to keep Joel on his toes.
