Duncan really showing his love for the club by staying on.  Don't think I could work under a person that I lost to in an interview for the same job.
I hope the club can fix him up with some position that will keep him here for life, his loyalty deserves a bit of appreciation from the board.

Same. I was expecting a cocky, arrogant guy, hinting at stepping down from playing at a 'super 6' team (lol) alongside Son and Kane to little old Everton. He comes across as shy, nervous, and not media trained, like someone straight out of the academy. You really have no idea what goes on in anyone's head, but if his decline is literally a lack of confidence for whatever reason then fuck me, get his confidence back and this might be an absolute masterstroke. Best of luck to him. 

Finally managed to watch his interview and honestly, I didn't expect him to be so quiet and calm. Genuinely thought he'd have arrogance shining through, but not the case. Maybe Spurs just became the wrong place for him and that showed on the pitch. Looking forward to being proven wrong about him.

This. Nothing would be more welcome than actually enjoying possession after watching nearly the entire midfield look petrified of taking space or making an impactful decision on the ball.

We did it perfectly with Baines by bringing Digne in while he still had a bit left in the tank - it’s not bloody rocket science!

Basically what I said earlier. We did the same with Cahill and Howard.

It’s not like we haven’t got a great track record of signing players whose careers have stalled then we’ve got them back on track ( Arteta , Piennar, Ferguson , Barmby etc )

Absolutely agree on the fingers burned comment. More times than not it has to be said. At least this time we didn't spend 40-50M and top wages and long contracts.

I am perplexed by the posters in this thread pretending we won't miss DCL.  Guess we should just play Rondon every game then? Or Simms? Heard he scored a goal for Blackpool.  Sure he is ready to replace DCL's 20+ goals last campaign? What about Richie?  Well he is probably going to leave as well if not sooner than DCL.
We need to appreciate the wonderful talent we have when we have it.  Said it about Digne.  People were on about how he had dropped off... Well it took him 1 game in a Villa shirt to register an assist that won a game... So that aged well.
Sure DCL has been injured this season but his record is still 3 goals in 6 games this season...
Proud of DCL and if he leaves, I will be sad to see him go.

This lad goes from not being able to finish, to being our most important player, to being surplus  because he hasn't scored after being out for four months!
Our fans are infamous for a reason.
