We’ve played 4 games since the points deduction was applied, I don’t think anyone predicted or even hoped we would be 4 points above the drop zone in such a short space of games.
Theres no way we would have done the same 12 months ago, and while the football is a bit hoof ball at times, which is necessary and a safety first approach, we are also playing some really nice stuff. I hope Dyche can keep the momentum and the players stay fit or don’t burn out. As things stand he must be the front runner for manager of the month.

You had to search for "Everton" to find an Everton match?!?
Why do they make things so bloody complicated?

DCL had the Newcastle defenders rattled on Thursday. No idea why anyone would think he’s struggling in that regard.

It has to be DC-L, no question - unless, of course, there's a fitness or potential injury issue. We'll need him fully fit during the holiday period.

You need to start with DCL he softens defenders up by working them into the ground, he pulls them all the pitch which creates space for others to take advantage of. If he’s fit he must start no one in the team is able to replace what he offers in the first 70 minutes of a game, not even Beto is any where near him at this moment in time.

Seriously this is the Dyche thread who on here really cares about Howe, Emery, and the Newcastle job, I’d rather see a picture of Mike’s shoes and maybe get a pair as long as you haven’t got to see a farrier and have them nailed on 😃

DCLs goals are a bonus for me. 90% of what he does is work and challenge. He's the polar opposite to Lukaku, who was 90% goals, but I love them both for what they bring/brought to the team

Thanks for the link to that form MileO.
I’ve only just had chance to read it after travelling early yesterday morning.
it makes Toffetalk look like a literary festival, I wonder if they feel the pain as they drag their knuckles on the ground whilst walking about😜

Me too, it’s incredible how you get caught up in the moment, I’d forgotten the build up completely in my enjoyment and delight.
Being in the crowd last night was wonderful, we’ve had so many “if only” games recently.
Bring on Chelsea, they will not be looking forward to coming to Goodison on Sunday.

Just watched a clip on the Everton FB page...I didn't realise the Beto goal was after a succession of 29 passes all over the pitch.
    That's class 👏
Only plays hoof ball Dyche does though 🤷‍♂️

First half we were fucking brilliant. At one point it flashed up on the screen that we'd had 37% possession and I was actually surprised because it hadn't felt that way at all due to us being the side that looked dangerous, and like the side that would score (and score a few at that). I admit, though, that come half time when we hadn't made our chances count I was worried that it would be like many other home games this season where we are the better side but then go on to lose the game.
That worry only increased in the second half as we weren't as threatening at all and with 20 minutes to go Newcastle were starting to really control things and look like it would be them to take the lead. If they had then I didn't think we'd have it in us to come back to get anything from the game. But then we found our clinical edge and went bang, bang, bang with the chances that fell our way.
I'm so proud of the team tonight - to a man, they all performed. They all gave everything. And all the fans in the ground gave them everything in return. I'm hoarse from urging them on and then singing my heart out to show my appreciation for their efforts.
Take 30 points off us if you like, we're going fucking nowhere.

Smashed another in. One thing he is consistent with is hitting the ball. Wish more of our players were confident enough to smash the ball.

We need dcl back fit asap.  Beto….. FFS…. I knew he was raw, I wasn’t expecting harlaand but the lad was disgustingly lazy last night.

the bare minimum we should expect from a striker is a shift.   He did that jogging then break into a sprint 3 seconds too late thing.   Burns my head.

Against the grain. But I’m going for Gana. He looks a senior player out there.
Looked after midfield, but was our most creative player as well.
Garner was excellent and I think these two actually complement each other. Garner is really benefitting from Gana.

Onana is going to struggle to get back in at this rate, but that could be great for us as he going to have to step up.
Beto is no replacement for Dom. Someone needs a chat with Harrison. Struggling with the most simple of crosses.

Having settled down and slept, I don’t think we should ignore how important that win was for us, not only will it give the players the boost in confidence and faith in themselves that they can overcome the points deduction, it will have caused concern in the clubs around us, they will have seen that we’re not the basket case we were this time last season and any glimmer of hope they may have had thinking we will be in the bottom three will have disappeared.
2 tough home games in quick succession where we can get 6 points and get out of the bottom 3.💙
