You know what we’ve been waiting and talking about this for a year now, and as much as we’ve been wronged we are Everton and we will not be beaten, we will come together as a fan base a club a team and if it’s at all possible to become stronger than we already are we will. The axes has fallen and we will beat the executioner (Premier League) and come out of this season with our status in tact and our heads held high. Then we can start next season with a clean sheet and hopefully new owners and put the last 7 years behind us for good and become the club we should be in a new stadium fit for our future.
We can appeal and maybe get 1-4 points back I genuinely don’t think we will need them, I would rather stick the middle finger 🖕 up to them and do it the hard way and save our money, time and energy by beating them as the force we have always had. 73 years unbroken in the top flight and the fuckers won’t put an end to the next 73 years.

Farcical handling of the whole situation by the PL, from memory no other PL club has had points deducted, never mind mid season.
Id have been worried if this had happened 12 months ago, now I think it will drive the players on even more, maybe Europe will be a stretch this season !

    Fuckin diabolical. Absolutely farce.
How can they turn this round so quickly yet City, Chelsea and the rest crack on?!
Anybody with just a smidge of footy knowledge will look at this and know its absolute bullshit.
On the playing side. Fuck all yo worry about. These players have shown more character and togetherness than we've seen for years. This'll just light that fire even more.

Sanction relates to losses over a three-year period
The Premier League referred Everton to an independent commission in March but did not reveal the specifics of the club's alleged breach.

Everton posted financial losses for the fifth successive year in March after reporting a £44.7m deficit in 2021-22.

Premier League clubs are permitted to lose £105m over a three-year period and Everton admitted to being in breach of the profit and sustainability rules (PSR) for the period ending 2021-22.

Following a five-day hearing in October, the commission found in favour of the Premier League that Everton's losses during that period amounted to £124.5m.
We're now 2 points from safety with 2/3rds of the season to play with confidence high in the team. A fine might've been worse! So not close to being fucked. Fucking livid though.

I'm not worried about the season, I think this'll fuel an already emotive fan base even further. Europe here we come.

The points deduction is immediate, despite the appeal.
I was very confident we wouldn't get a points deduction because it just didn't make sense, this is absolutely disgusting. We have one charge and the maximum punishment is 12 points, so how is it proportionate to give a 10 point deduction?

Can we get away from the whole class issue, I come on here to discuss and read about football, and really don’t want to hear about other views of class status, shoes or their job, even less about the registration of the car FFS.

Gray never played a pass to Myko, it must have been incredibly demoralising bombing down the line and never to have a ball played to you.
I think he’s happier to do it knowing he will get the ball when the pass is on.

Martinez' first season was so good and exciting because we were solid at the back and then we'd murder teams on the break. We weren't dominating games by any stretch of the imagination.
Then in the second and third season our football became very sterile and sanitised. It was boring watching us pass it round at the back, go nowhere, lose it and then concede. We were neither exciting or solid. We were shite.
Personally, I was happy with the football on show in the early parts of the season despite the results. I could see huge improvement in every aspect of our play from the previous season, and it wasn't anything to do with having more of the ball really. We were looking to win games rather than just not lose them. The results weren't there but the method was and we just needed to stick with it and it did eventually come to pass.
Are we seeing less of the ball than I'd like in some games? Yes. I wasn't annoyed by it in the games against Arsenal, the shite and Brighton because those sides are miles better than us. That's a fact. It did get to me a bit against Palace but we got the result. And after the game Dyche said he wanted us to play better than that and he believes we can and will do. It's not like he's just accepting that that's the way things are going to be. He can see what we can and he wants better too.
I really don't see the problem. We've shown we can play and we've shown that we can grind results out as well. We're not going to go about things the same way every time and we're going to keep progressing, what we see now is not the end game.

He was collapsing his legs and dragging feet before he got near to Braithwaite in my opinion. Maybe shouldn't have given the opportunity but officials need to do better there.

I can't remember where or when I wrote it, but mad to think at one point I had him down as a future captain once Coleman hung up his boots. I really thought Godfrey would have been a massive player here but he seems to have completely slipped into the abyss.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him moved on in the summer, which despite being disappointed wouldn't argue against.

It was me, thanks for doing it.
Ive gone for Myko, probably the most improved player this season, very Lyle seems to be getting past him. Branthwaite and DCL close runners up for me.

I haven’t, but I must admit that at the end of my first season as an ST holder I was having second thoughts on renewing again after the upcoming season as I really hadn’t enjoyed watching every game. My mood changed once gravy chops left, and I’ve never had second thoughts since, I’ve been mighty pissed off many times but always know I’ll be back next game.
At the moment knowing we are having to rebuild and avoid repeating the last two season I can handle low possession and do enjoy the counter attack style, a couple of stylish possession goals would be nice, if only to show we are capable.

I think your right, he’s lost that burst of pace he had, which was his key asset, his passing was never very good imo, always looking sideways or backwards. It would be great if he could improve that side of his game.
Like you I had Covid again a few weeks back, still have a slight cough and my body temperature control is all over the place, that’s 2 positives and 4 jabs, I’d hate to think how I would be without the jabs.

Covid has really hit him.  Based on when he got it he wouldn’t have been vaccinated. But I’m not sure if footy players would have got ahead of the queue.
I haven’t had any further boosters but I believe I caught Covid again 8 weeks ago. The actual unwell feeling wasn’t so bad, just tiredness but I’ve been hit with the chest this time.  Both me and the wife, been on steroids and antibiotics.  Going for a walk tires me out.

the cough has been persistent and they sent us both for chest x rays.

pretty sure Godfrey has to have regular checks as he has really been through it.

At the game the weekend I got some information on Mykolenko and why he seems to have upped his game this season.
there were fears he couldn’t play for the full 90 minutes.
so Everton’s sports scientists asked him to write down everything he ate for a full week when they studied what he was eating it turned out he wasn’t eating the right foods and not enough.
turns out he was 40% deficient in Protein so they gave him the right diet to eat and Mykolenko said I can’t eat all that but he has had to co operate and looks like he’s gone from strength to strength.
at last it looks like we have a sports scientist who knows what he’s doing.
    im very pleased with that.

I feel with Dyche the potential to get back to being one of the clubs in and around the European spots is there (given time and assuming proper investment in players etc.).
Whether he’s capable of taking us higher is still a doubt for me, but we are way off that anyway. I’d much rather see us stabilised over the next couple of seasons than chop and change too soon and end up back at square one.
At the moment progress is being made. Once progress stops being made, I think that’s the time to make a change. Obviously, in the meantime we should have course have targets in mind and contingency plans ready.

After the last 5 years I'm genuinely shocked how many supporters seem to want Dyche gone. This is first time in heavens knows how long that I feel like there's a plan for recruitment, there's a genuinely good squad to choose from, the wage bill is representative of where we sit in terms of current quality, and our trajectory is upwards.

I think he has done much better than OK, he has followed a string of managers who have all in one way or another (and I include Ancelloti in this) slowly brought this club to its knees both financially and footballing wise.
Dyche is going about this team and club in the right way - getting the basics right for a team who have been poor on quality, low in confidence and frigile both mentally and physically and at times looking disinterested.
Forget about overall footballing philosphy and tactical nuances, there has been far more wrong with this team than this issue.
I think Dyche is addressing the fundamental problems and addressing them properly. His mantra when he walking in the door was 'minimum requirement is maximum effort'. This is what we are seeing and its proving to be a good foundation for much improved performances and results.
I have said it in another post - we look to have transitioned from the team that everybody wants to play (as its a great opertunity to walk away 3 points) to a team that are going to give you a tough game and now increasingly likley to nick the points from you. This is a significant and welcome swing.

Hi assist for Youngs goal on Wednesday was brilliant, I thought he had run himself in to a dead end, no he created a the goal that sealed the win. You could see how much it meant to him.
We still, need to see improvement in his game from him which should come with increased game time.
