Couldn't give a shite who he supported, so long as he gives 110% every week he'll do just fine for me.

Swear some people wouldn't be happy unless our signings grew up on a strict diet of crushed up Everton mints since birth.

It’s also worth noting that some want everyone who plays for us to live and die for the badge but as soon as they make a mistake, want a bigger contract, get injured they are very quick to personally attack etc..

"Everton are rushing to get this one and the gana deal over the line in time to face Chelsea"...blah blah blah.

To be fair that’s just random media stuff. Alan Meyers reported that the weekend or early this week were most likely.

Hopefully this means means Keane is on his way somewhere.

Whoever said that Tark and Coady won’t be putting up with any shit from the slackers around them has a very good point.

Probably was the plan but with the injuries maybe he gets a reprieve until the next window.

looks like I got one right a good few weeks back! This must have been on the cards all that time.

One would have to think this means at least one of Keane and Mina were set to leave. I suppose we are a bit lucky these injuries happened before they left as now we can alter plans a bit. Of course if Mina was sold before he was hurt that would have been ideal.

But we haven’t even got a back up for Rondon, if he should get a compound injury because he touches the ball more than 3 times we are back to square one, when we sold Richarlison we should not have let Simms go out on loan, not because he should be the number one striker but because it left us with lately an injury prone DCL and a past his sell by date Rondon, if we get another striker in before the close of the window and he hasn’t made an impact then let him go out on loan, but if we can’t get a striker in before the window closes at least we would have had some sort of option, and who knows he may have done for us what he did for Sunderland 1st game of the season.

Well we can’t plan for DCL to get hurt before the season when a Rondon is also unavailable. Just a fluke situation. We were always bringing in a striker to be the 2nd or competition to DCL, making Rondon the 3rd choice. Which is plenty for a team that has greater concerns and has to be pragmatic. Just one of those things.

I think it’s a bit hard in the 3-5-2 formation for him to drive at the defence as he will leave us under manned in the middle. I thought he was extremely responsible and conscious of his positioning. He created a big chance for Doucoure as well & looked most likely to make something happen.

He looks about the only player who hits a ball with pace and they he was threading passes between oppositions players ( for Myko and Gordon ) is good to see.

Really think he will thrive in a 3 man midfield especially with Onana & Gueye either side ( Doucoure will be that much more effective as well in this formation )

It was encouraging to see Patterson so willing to get into the attack as that will be important with 5 at the back.

He is a real athlete. I can’t imagine many defences would be happy to see him come on after 60/70 minutes. Really hope we get him in.

With our current squad (when healthy) we may look pretty good getting off the bus with the likes of Tark, Mina, Godfrey, Patterson, Doucoure  Iwobi, Onana, DCL. Some big, strong guys in there by soccer standards. At the least other teams aren’t going to relish a physical battle

Really appreciating Iwobi at the moment. Can’t wait for this lad Onana & Gueye to get into the team with Iwobi playing how he is playing.

Also showed some serious pace against Sterling.

He had an excellent game. I do wish he would be a bit more ambitious sometimes. We will need that with a squad that may struggle to create chances at times

I expect it to be more personal because of how some fans seem to think he’s a brilliant player. So the reaction from the people who don’t rate him is a bit stronger.
It’s the exact reverse of fans treatment of Michael Keane.

Wherever it comes from it’s disappointing to see personal attacks for a player whose faults are not effort or attitude or even ability for the most part.

Believe it or not I dislike knocking anyone who wears the Everton shirt but I'm fed up with the brittle players we have had over the past few seasons. Hit them with a feather and that's them out.

Yea, I mean I get it from a football perspective but some people seem to be getting a bit personal with Mina. Not like he’s trying to rob the club or something.

I'm sure the clown will have himself fit and raring to go for the World Cup, then return to us and get injured in his first training session.

Bit harsh. Mina’s injuries are a huge problem and will likely have him leaving the club but he’s performed pretty well when on the field and seems to be a good character.

I’m sure he doesn’t want to be injured all the time and I’ve never seen an indication that he’s just interested in collecting a check.

They showed a replay and the linesman looked like he was behind Pickford's body so wouldn't have had a clear line of sight. Also because of what Pickford did, with VAR, they are encouraged to let things run anyway.

Just a fluke thing. Reasons it happened but perhaps it’s nobody’s fault as such.

I'd take Dorris from next door at centre back with the rate of injuries we are getting. Hopefully Coady surprises me and as a few said at the game yesterday, he's a natural leader which is exactly what we need.

It seems like we are focusing on reliability and leadership in some of these deals. Gueye, Tark, Coady. Even the youth we have in Patterson, Myko, Amadou (according to his coaches) have some of that character in them.

Even after the loss and the injuries I’m feeling pretty hopeful about the longterm.

Maybe we're going to be spending on a striker and want every penny possible to go towards that. If so, that's another good move from Thelwell.

It’s hard to know exactly what our constraints were and a lot of these haven’t played but, on paper, he and his people have done an exceptional job. This assumes we bring in a striker, as I’m sure we will.

And as 5 year olds are taught, "play to the whistle". Godfrey is of course at fault for the poor backpass but to not put any blame on Pickford for being a balloon is naive.

It’s like blaming a defender for not marking a player who is offside. There aren’t usually whistles when balls go well out of play. Should players just tackle one another  out of bounds because there is no whistle? Really grasping at straws to blame Pickford there. He was trying to make up for a bad error from Godfrey. I suppose you can say he should have just let it go out but a keeper’s instinct is always going to be to try to avoid the corner.

Putting a freak injury like that on Jordan, at all, is poor imo. I imagine Ben isn’t.

It was absolutely stupid from Pickford, in what was a game of errors from him, if he puts that in Row Z then Godfrey doesn't need to make the tackle.

The media will love it, bashing Jordan and not saying a peep about the car crash of a game Ramsdale had against Palace but hey ho.

The ball was well out of play and he was stretching to get to it. That situation was either on Godfrey for the poor play to begin with or the official for not blowing it dead.

Had to go with Iwobi. I am so encouraged he has started this season just the way he finished last season

He is always being pick by the squad as being the most skillful player, and somehow Lampard has really brought him out of his shell and he is showing his skill and matching it with work rate.

Seeing what Lampard has done with Iwobi is hopefully a real indicator that he is going to develop in to a first rate manager.

The turning point for me was when he made that big error towards the end of last season. Fans stayed behind him and he performed well the next time out.
