msloan78 got a reaction from rubecula in Deadline Day
10:10 I was about to throw the telly out the window.
45 minutes later was a completely different picture in our house.

Oh well. Expected it to happen. Thanks and good luck to him, but hope that United win bugger all!

Agreed. Best piece of business we've done.
New contract would be nice to read about in the next few weeks.

If Vic goes for £6m I'd defo try and put a bid in for Jordan Rhodes.
Good player, knows where the goal is... And it would piss Dave Whelan off too.

Altogether now.........
Aaaaaaaaaaaah. Poor David. Has Bill offended his bestest buddy in football by not allowing his business and club to be bullied.
Fair play to Bill if he's still holding out for the best deal. Moyes can fook off.

msloan78 got a reaction from Matt in 2013 Summer Transfers
All I can say is that I will be happy in 24 hours when the circus is over and we know exactly what we have to play with (for at least the next few months anyway)!!!

Please.... If he's going to go I want City to come in with some outrageous bid so we can either squeeze every last penny from United or laugh at Moyes when it doesn't come off.

msloan78 got a reaction from Matt in West Brom (Home)
Until the latter part of the game I thought Fellaini was decent. Worked hard to win the ball back, and kept possession.
Very frustrating game. Over 20 attempts on goal for us and not 1 goal to show for it.

Mate it's known that Moyes was well aware of the fact that Ferguson was retiring, well in advance of the public announcement. He held off signing a new contract rather than simply being honest and stating that he was going to go to United either way. He was blatantly tapped up, and blatantly knew the score and was well aware of the impact it would have upon the club. Yet Moyes still went with the 'blessing' of most people involved with our club.
Whoever is responsible for transfer dealings at Old Trafford at the moment is displaying a great deal of arrogance and ignorance and has massively misjudged the feelings of football people. The fact that it is not only Everton fans who are calling this joke bid for what it really is must surely be ringing some alarm bells. I hope the bully boy tactics and trying to unsettle our club blow up massively in your faces.

I understand what your saying about 'not taking it personally', but it is easier said than done when this is probably as personal as it could get in football terms.
This new bloke in charge of transfers needs to learn fast about whats right and appropriate. I honestly don't think I would have a huge issue if either or both were to go but at the right price and given a decent amount of time to spend on reinforcing the squad. I'm not sure now though, given the ill feeling that the whole thing has raised that we will sell to United now anyway.

BBC...
Who said the following? "Everton sell very expensively. That's what we do.
"We don't sell cheap because that is why he is on a five-year deal and the chairman looks after the players and gives them what he can. So he is not for sale."
Well, it was a certain Manchester United manager David Moyes in 2011 while he was in charge at Everton and in response to Leighton Baines being linked with a move to Liverpool.

Think I've found the club's formal response to the offer:

Its difficult not getting pulled along with all the conspiracy theories but we have to look at what we wanted to achieve from participating in the competition. If we'd not been stitched up and won it, would we qualify for Europe this season?
We went for 1) fitness 2) match practise and fine tuning systems 3) exposure and finance.
I'd say we got what we went for, and whilst its frustrating and annoying there's nothing that we can do in the moment. I wouldn't enter it next year though, as it seems a bit mickey mouse in terms of organisation and structure.
