We shouldn't need to be thinking about turning him into a midfielder. But he proved today he is a very talented footballer the way he adapted, didn't look out of place at all.

Not looking like the cleverest bit of business bringing him here

Very good point away from home. Injuries are killing us but the desire is back. Feels like Everton again!

All about bottle now. Dig deep and take the point.

It's amazing what going back to basics in football can do. Two well organised banks of four, two athletic strikers getting about the defenders and players fired up to work hard. We're not pulling up trees in terms of fabulous flowing football but given the injuries we have this is just fantastic

About time we got a dodgy VAR go our way!!
-
Dunc apparently told media it would be a back 3, love it haha!
-
Tell you what it's bloody brave 9f Dunc sticking with a 4-4-2 moving Holgate into midfield! We'll learn a lot about Holgate as a player today

The problem for Utd isn't in the big games with the pace and quality they have upfront. They could rip any team to shreds but also don't need lots of chances to score.
The test for Utd will be against the compact sides that counter them. For me that is where a manager proves his worth as most sides can set themselves up to be difficult to beat.
What is interesting is that the board are at least appearing to give him the chance to build a team in the traditional Utd image. If we went down that route with our next manager, would we be prepared to do the same.
I think that's the key at any club. Success requires a long term strategy

2 wins doesn’t make a campaign. He loses to the minnows far too often.
I wrote Man Utd off this season but I reckon I was wrong. Solksjaer has dumped the egos blooded a load of kids and got them fifth atm. I expect a really difficult game at Old Trafford and reckon they will be right in the running for 4th

nice win by Big Dunc but i don't think he should be the long term replacement. I don't want an Ole situation here.
What beating Spurs and Man City in back to back games with a load of kids??

Really gonna have to dig deep now

Dunc hugging the ball boy, hahaha!!

Just what the doctor ordered!!! DCL, useless!!

Come on blue boys. Another goal then fight like hell.
-
Holding on last 15 but we look like a team that have had a rocket. We worked hard v Leicester but that was more about discipline in the shape - today so far has been more about getting at them.
Loved Dunc's reaction to the goal!

One thing I will say about that line up is Ferguson is handing responsibility to the big names. You're the big earners at this club, you go get us out of this mess
-
Holy fucking shit. Has he not learnt the lessons of the last two years? Or is he trying to make a point to the board - this is how desperate things have become?
Mina injury - well there's how badly we fucked up in the summer over a CB.
-
Not seen a single suggested line up yet that doesn't depress the shit out of me. And no I can't do any better.

He’s Ross Barkley, just older and more expensive...
I'd take Barkley back in a heart beat over him. Gives a midfield something Sigurdsson will never offer - mobility

SSN breaking that Vitor Periera is the main target. Read his Wikipedia, apparently he was interviewed for us back in 2013. Doesn't seem to have done anything too special. Almost a carbon copy of Silva with wins with top teams in Portugal and Greece, and strange quits/sackings/mutual what evers along the way.
Did they ask Silva for a personal recommendation??

Totally agree. Brands is there to build a club. Manager/ youth system. If morishi is getting advised by agents etc then there is no point in brands being there. Stay out of the way and let the people your paying to do the job do the job
If Moshiri is listening to agents over Brands then Brands should just walk. I really hope that's not the case but considering how bad some of our recruitment has been its worryingly plsusible

DCL for terrorising the Utd back line. But Holgate very, very close for such a mature and composed performance out of position
