  1. I would be suprised if we are not soon under the ownership of 777 Partner. However, I wouldn't minded being under the ownership of an Indian company. It sounds like interest in football is developing at a fairly rapid pace and it wouldn't do any harm in being the poster club in India - second only to China, the potential for quite a fan base - but a lot easier to access.

If Twitter is anything to go by then there'll be a lot of fucking whingeing going on in here but there'll be none of that from me about today.

It's obviously disappointing to lose a game we lead for so long but I'm happy with how we applied ourselves, how committed every single player was, how disciplined they were to stick to the game plan and stay in shape for the most part. I'm proud of those players (even Ashley Young) and how they went about things. Again, I think Dyche got the tactics right - Brighton will always dominate the ball so you've got to come up with a game plan to combat that and it doesn't involve trying to get on the ball more really. What you have to do is stay solid while they have it and then when you do have it use it well. We did that and but for a deflection we get the three points.

First half I thought we were pretty much perfect. Got ourselves an early goal and then shut them down. For all the possession they had I felt very, very comfortable. I'm a critic of Young and I was terrified about what Mitoma would do to him but between him and Harrison they kept him very quiet. How they did that was to stay close to him and not give him the opportunity to get on a run and build up momentum - if he'd managed to do that then he'd have had Young on toast.

Second half things were a bit more ropey for us I must admit, but we still weren't under siege or anything like that. We still frustrated them and kept them at arms length. Young was starting to look more vulnerable to Mitoma as the half wore on and I would have got him off and brought Patterson on. At the same time, though, I can understand why he didn't do it because Dyche will have had to weigh up whether it was riskier to leave a player on that was handling Mitoma but tiring or bring on an inexperienced player and rely on him to come on and be able to handle him. That being said, the goal didn't come because Young was tired and was destroyed by Mitoma so I find it difficult to put any sort of blame on Dyche or Young.

Brighton absolutely twatted us in this fixture last season and I left the stadium utterly deflated. This time around I feel unlucky to be leaving Goodison with only a point but still see it as a point gained because Brighton are a very good side despite their recent form.

Please do stop going on about the mid-week cup game and saying we should've rested players. Remind me what happened when we did last season against Bournemouth... oh yes, building confidence and any sort of momentum went right out the window, we put in a shite performance, lost, and then took that fucked confidence into the league game after it and lost that against them too. A relegation rival. This time, we played a strong side, won, built momentum and confidence and took both of those things into todays game which allowed us to take a point off a quality outfit.

    exactly this,

Dyche et al have got this lot well drilled now, it's a long time since I have seen an Everton this fit and with so much energy. This side battle and battle.

Heads could have gone down given there we not getting the results they deserved in the first half dozen games.

took Liverpool getting a penalty to score and took a deflection for Brighton to score. we have become a tough nut.

Hi assist for Youngs goal on Wednesday was brilliant, I thought he had run himself in to a dead end, no he created a the goal that sealed the win. You could see how much it meant to him.

We still, need to see improvement in his game from him which should come with increased game time.

I was good to see the lad rewarded. pretty much made that goal himself.

just the sort of thing that will hopefully see his confidence increase, making a positive impact from the bench.

  4. for the money being paid for Beto and Danjuma fees and wages wise, they should be more that capable of putting in a performance in a cup completion or in the Prem when needed, this is a squad of players not just a starting 11.  It's not like suggesting we fill the team with youth or a second string team it's about utilising the squad of player.

beto and danjuma should be 'hungery' to get on the pitch and show there worth. if they don't then you sub on DCL. 30mins plenty for DCL if wanting him to play 90mins one the coming weekend.

Didn't see a thread so figured I'd start one. If I'm not supposed to please delete..

I would rest dcl and Tarkowski to start. I know it's important to win today but staying up is more important and need some rest.

it is also about getting some decent game time for other players. I would like to see Beto and Danjuma starting this game.

I think from a squad moral point of view it is important to give finge players game time. This helps them be more effective when subed on or if the need to come in to the team due to injury etc.

can't help but feel DCL is still needs treating with care, so a rest on the bench for a mid week game would seem sensible at this time. same with Harrison as well.

We don’t pay Laing O’Rourke monthly though.
We pay them after each significant milestone, but in advance of the next phase of work. Those payments are quite far apart and if I remember rightly they were as much as £100m (which would fit in well with the MSP loan).

The money from 777 is to keep the club running. We are not cash rich and Moshiri won’t put money in anymore.

But if you read through Myers tweet, he says part of it is for the stadium, but doesn't know the details.

Do you know different? Or just speculating it needed simple to keep the club running.

This has been utterly painful to watch

Not a great game, but the home team hammers fans will be enjoying it less than us.  Lacking a bit of quality, but think we are winning more of the individual battles than they are. Keep that up second half and 3 points for the taking. We should be 1 up, as Harrison really should have scored the best chance of the game.

Not seen any projections on this, but the stadium can be a 365 day venue.
The corporate packagings are a massive chance, the whole thing will be a better quality and therefore a much higher price. Add to it the capacity of the corporate will be much bigger.
Our season tickets will go up, I think we’ll be somewhere between £750 and £800 to start with, and closer to £850 after two or three seasons.

The summer is where they need to get serious. Liverpool host concerts every summer now it seems (when they aren’t building) and we need to take a chunk of that market away from them. With the massive fan plaza something like the summer pops from back in the day could be  done again at Bramley Moore.
Boxing, if they can attract some big fights (difficult with the Saudi’s) it could be a money spinner. I’d really like them to get a UFC night there, I’m not into UFC at all but if they could get a night with Meatball Molly, Paddy Pimblett and Darren Till (if he’s still doing it) that would be a huge night.

Nice to see we have England U21’s at Goodison, work with the FA to get more of these games at Bramley Moore, maybe even an England friendly if they could get it too.
Teams like Brazil and Argentina like to play a lot of their games in Europe (they change for the pleasure too) but it’s great for publicity as well as bringing in match day revenue.

Another chance, can you get Rugby League’s magic weekend at Bramley Moore? Fans travel to Newcastle for it, with so many teams in the north west (and none of them from Liverpool) everything is already in place to host an event like this.

If someone like me can think of a handful of ideas we have to hope there is someone at the club who can some up with better.

Yeah, definitely. It should be the premier venue for concerts and other major events etc in the North of England.

Not many places you can go to a venue of this capacity, with the facilities we will have and be right in the business part of the city.

If you click on the tweet and view the next tweet of the thread, that's exactly what it says it's for and it's nothing to do with the stadium.

Its says '..working capital..' then a bit further down he say which '..includes the stadium..', but he '... doesn't know the details'.  Don't think he mentions 'day to day running costs' of the club.

You would think give the transfer activity if the past few years and significantly reduced wage bill our rolling 'day to day running costs' of the club as on a more even keel and not desperately in need of £80M to keep the club running.

If you are building a £700m stadium over 36months it works out an average of £20M a month, and given the phase of construction we are in at the moment we are likely to be in a period of a fair few significant payment. The MSP £100m put in will not last that long and definaely will have not covered the stadium cost, it mostly likley went to the developer almost immediately. It will have only covered a percentage of the cost.

I am only speculating but would hazard a guess that given what is going on BMD a signficant proportion of any £80m working capital input at this moment time will be largely to do with the biggest spend in the clubs history.

  10. Most of the stadium cost is going to be on borrowed money and £80M will only be a small percentage of this. It makes sence for them to do that if they are most likley going to be the new owners. Why get other financial people involed with the club if a full buy out purchase etc is being sorted and is imminent. New owners would want to have as much control of any financing or debt as possible. I would guess soring out financing etc is 777 partners bread and butter.

I don't think 777 will have any isses gaining the required approval.
