Who's talking bollocks now. Over and over, he's forever injured!

So in the 10 years he has been playing he has managed 68 appearances in the top flight. Barry has managed 354 games in the same period.

I also rate him, but to say he should waltz back after a cameo and replace a consistent player is just daft. He, like any other player, has to earn their place. Last night was a good start.

Dont know what game ya watched tonight mate but iI think you may have used copy and paste from a comment made earlier in the season. Lukaku lookedreally good and any first touch that went wayward eas won again by him.

Isnt that sort of like buying an old banger of a Car because of what it was like back in its hayday? Its not going to do 0-60 in 5 seconds like it used to, or be half as luxurious. Instead, it will keep falling apart and burn a hole in your wallet whilst doing so.

Italian football is of dire quality at the moment and not to mention, rife with corruption. Most players are going there towards the end of their Careers and doing pretty well (Tevez, Llorente,Gervinho) but it would be a disastrous move for Roberto career wise.

I'd rather have browning making mistakes and learning rather than distin making them which he is always likely to do..also stones had little experience there when he first played..The lad may be a natural

Lukaku should not be played out wide. It's worked in one game, and the rest of the time he's looked awful out there.

Players don't need a new contract every time they perform well.

He has time on it, he's enjoying his football and he seems like someone that would be happy with what he's got anyway.

I'm sure they'll speak to him sometime between January and the summer to sort it out.

I agree he needs to start shouting for support, but why is it down to him? Manager needs to shoulder some stick here. This time last last year he got service and was scoring. This time he is being used as a target man. It's the same thing as Jelavic - give him a chance and he will bury it, ask him to drop deep or hold up play, he looks poor. If it was Moyes in charge, it would only be the manager getting an earful, asking to work the channels, asking to hold up play. But because Captain Charisma is in charge it's the players fault.
He was far from static today, he was making so many runs, jumping for balls and I'm not surprised he wasn't closing down the defenders because there was no one around him to back him up. He looked knackered at halftime because he had worked so hard, but no one was around to feed him or support him (Naismith occasionall) Our formation lately is meaning a gap of 20-30 yards between him and the midfielders!

The game at United today was a Moyes performance and that is not the strikers fault

If there was floods off balls being put in the box, constant through balls and endless missed opportunities by him I'd agree with mob but people are looking at his all round game when he's a striker. Some of the best strikers in the world past and present offer little else but goals. There's plenty of world class strikers who'd come in this side and struggle.

I think what we should be looking at is the opportunities Lukaku has been given by his team mates.... Not many.

I'm not going back through the first half to pick out stuff that you chose to ignore in the first place.

That's it, as it has been all along with you. Your pissed off with the fee and because we didn't get who you wanted. Your not watching a £28m player!, we paid that much because he has the potential to be the best and if e realises it, in today's market £28m could be a snip. But you don't seem to realise it. It's fuckin pathetic Haf.

We paid £28m Because of his potential. Name me any other player in world football that would have come here for less money with the record Rom has AND the potential Rom has.

If you say Bony you can fuck off and I'm leaving it there.

Que story about how you/your brother/your wife's sisters hairdressers cousin used to play for tranmere but should have played for Madrid because he had a better touch than Rom story.

I'll leave it there becaus it's obvious you don't like the lad and never will. Pathetic that people can't see past his fee. Be arsed.

Oh get fucked Haf. He's been one of our best players and held it up really well which is what you always ask of him but you still manage to find something to critisize him on. It's pathetic.

Naismiths passing has been poor. Can't seem to link up play at all. Besic has settled into the game well. Baines looking good. Hibbert has done alright but he has been done once or twice which let's face it was always going to happen. Barry is treading a fine line.

Hoping we can scrape a win here but won't hold my breath!

The defence was great. Hibbert got mullered a few times but he held up a lot better than I thought. Jagielka and Stones from now on, fuck this left foot, right foot shit.

The only things I was really disappointed with is that we didn't really threaten, Howard was poor on their free-kick (but also saved our arses throughout the game), Barry's all round game and Lukaku's second half performance (he was more than fine in the first half).

I hope that grabbing a point right at the end will give us the boost in confidence and platform to actually start our season now. We can play much better than we did today, we just need the belief to do it.

Its not missing though Haf, thats sort of my point. Rom has flaws, Ross has flaws. Different flaws, i'll give you that. We all know that Rom's flaw is obviously his touch can let him down. But at times we have seen that his touch has been spot on (See run and pass to Naismith against Arsenal at Goodison a few weeks ago) so he does have it in his locker, its not as if every single game he has the touch of a rapist as per Anichebe.

He has had games where he has had everything, we havent seen it yet this season but we have seen glimpses.

In my opinion Roms flaws are greatly exaggerated because of his fee. Ross gets the backing because he is one of our own and didnt cost a penny.

I'd love to have seen Bonys touch (Who you seem to be such a big fan of) when he was 21. Or Drogba's for that matter. To suggest it wont get better is just wrong.

It's funny how some people paper over the cracks when it comes to Ross and his decision making because he is one of our own but when it comes to Rom can only praise through gritted teeth and seem to pick only on his flaws because he cost us a lot of money (which was based on his potential). Even though they are both young players with a lot left to learn.

Ross isn't a £50m player. He could be though. Same with Rom. He isn't £28m's worth but he could be.. And then some. Think certain people need to remember this when it comes to match days.

We all backed Barkley last year when he looked a rabbit in the headlights at times last season in the final third which was reflected in his 0 assists. But I don't remember many people getting on his back because everyone understood he was a kid learning his trade. Same applies to Rom, despite his record.

On topic, can't wait to have the lad back. Be a big boost.

I have never known someone get on a players back like you have with Lukaku Haf. Its actually incredible. Purely picking every little hole in their game/performance (including making stuff up) and excluding anything positive they make.

Totally agree that the fee is far too much but its a low risk investment because he will score goals, he will create goals and if we want to move him on in 2 years time we will be able to do so and pocket at least most of our money back.

We have bigger issues to worry about than Lukaku IMO.

Makes me laugh. All we heard when Moyes was here making defensive subs was "what the hell is he doing! We are inviting them on to us now!"

Now Martinez is here and does the polar opposite people are like "what the hell is he doing, we need a defender on to sure up the lead"

Also funny how questions like this start being asked after a dissapointing result. Can't seem to remember a problem with his subs for most of last season? If anything he was praised for it! We made the most goal scoring subs at one point last season if I remember correctly.

People need a reality check I think. I'm still gutted about yesterday but it's the old cliché of "it shows how far we've come" that we are dissapointed with a draw against Arsenal, in a game we deserved to win. Let's not forget we are slow starters generally and we still have issues to iron out in what is going to be a loooooong season.

Relax guys. Bit early to be playing the blame game.
