SimonButtle
Why did they need fifteen of them ? http://www.arsenal.c...picture-special how long has Arteta had the customary premiership ear piercing then? ive never noticed that before

StevO
he gets kicked all over the place and just gets back up again. cant help feeling this is a bit of a generalisation of spanish football as a whole rather than just Barca my point was just barca, i aknowledge they dive a lot in spain but its the barca team i see most on tv. but they dont seem to do it so much in a spain shirt as they do in a barca one. also, i will note that messi doesnt seem to dive much, he aint 100% but no where near as bad as his team mates. The Beard
Been away for a week, so apologies if I am repeating what has been said. In the past few weeks a consnsus of opinion in these parts has been if we can get 10-12 million for Arteta that would be good business, the fact that we did not bring in any other similar type player has detracted from that. A good profit on a player who can blow hot and cold, admittedly when hot a great player, would be sound business if the cash was used for re-inforcements but there lies another debate? Hafnia
http://www.sos1878.co.uk/everton-news/echo-apologise-to-everton-over-arteta-article/ IN Saturday’s Echo we stated that Everton FC’s financial plight made the sale of Mikel Arteta necessary. We understand from Everton this is not the case and Arteta was reluctantly allowed to leave because he expressly stated a desire to do so – not because of any financial pressure upon the club, which would have been happy and able to keep him. We apologise for giving the wrong impression on the matter.’
Lowensda
I just don't see if you were forced to leave, why you'd take a paycut. It didn't make sense. Taking a paycut for ambition is more understandable? At the end of the day, its done. Nothing more we can say or do about it
Hafnia
I wonder if Everton have the muscle to force an apology from the Daily Mirror in that case: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/columnists/mcgovern/2011/09/02/will-everton-go-down-after-transfer-window-exodus-115875-23390476/ or the Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/sep/01/mikel-arteta-everton-david-moyes Maybe Andy Hunter and McGovern aren't too concerned about their jobs being affected in being banned from finch farm... MikeO
3:05 Danny Graham challenges Mikel Arteta unfairly and gives away a free kick. Shot on goal comes in from Mikel Arteta from the free kick, blocked by Steven Caulker. Would Caulker have been standing in the wall by any chance ? Steve_E
Mikel had a 89% pass completion rate today. According to the Guardian Chalkboards most were in the opposition's half and forwards. He won 3 tackles (lost 1 as well) and had 2 interceptions as well. Good for him. Oztoffee
And Yak has scored two goals against Arsenal... Couldn't (wouldn't?) score in a brothel for us and pops in two on debut for a second-rate team. Or maybe it's now he's away from Moyes tactics he can play with some flair......oh! Arteta scored too. Hmmm.......
