  • Two of the three teams to attempt the most long passes in the Premier League this season have been Everton (287, second) and Brentford (285, third).

  • Everton have picked up just one point in their opening five Premier League games this season (D1 L4), their joint-worst start to a campaign along with 1994-95.

  • Brentford only went ahead in 11 of their first 25 home Premier League matches – since then, they’ve held a lead in 15 of their 16 games on home soil, including the past 10. They have, however, drawn their three at Gtech Community Stadium this season, despite leading in all of them.

  • Since Sean Dyche’s first league game in charge of Everton in February, defender James Tarkowski has blocked 13 more shots on target than any other player (41), including three against Arsenal last time out.

Brentford so far this season have the 4th highest xG, of 10.2 goals.  They've scored 8.

Their xG against is 6 which is the 6th best in the league.  They've conceded 6.

They've drawn 3 games but have had much the better xG in all of their games apart from the loss to Newcastle which they still only narrowly lost.

This will be a very tough game and not one I fancy winning.  Would be huge if we could get the victory but I'm going to go for a hard fought 1-1 draw with Beto getting the goal.

Sounds like this could be an exciting, end-to-end match.

I don't think we'll lose today. That's my prediction.

The problem is Brentford more than likely play long balls to where they actually have one of their own players and aren't just twatting the ball to the opposition's defenders or keeper like us.
