I like that Marco is trying to keep continuity. However if Walcott or Bernard are not at the races today, I want lookman on. Even if it’s a half time sub. I called for patience ( for Walcott ) earlier in the season, but Ademola has taken his chance in my opinion and deserves the managers trust.

The lad is a superstar. A marketing dream, humble, down to earth and just loves his football. He has ten years at the top easily. I think he loves playing for us, he is on a serious wedge as he should be. I’m sure in another two years he will want champions league football. It’s up to the club to challenge for that 

I hope he gets a start next week I think he’s done enough to be given that opportunity. 

If Gylfi is out for a while I’d like to see Lookman start on the left with Bernard in the middle. 

Don’t disagree with that either. I still think he was a very lazy player for us though. If he wasn’t in form in attack, then he certainly wasn’t going to make up for it by helping out with defensive work, like Siggy is capable of. 

You don’t have to convince me of Martial’s class. I was another that wanted him as a Lukaku replacement when he was out of favour last season. 
And I’ve always found Barkley to be particularly lazy for a midfielder. The difference between he and Siggy’s pressing and tracking back is night and day for me. 

I'm a little surprised there isn'tt more mention of Digne's performance. He was a problem for them all day. Of course hes been so good consistently that maybe we are just coming to expect it.

He’s experienced enough to have seen Martial there (regardless of who’s job it should have been - it’s a team game!) and will know that he could have prevented that goal had he not switched off/ been lazy/ whatever. Overall he’s done well for us and been a good signing up to now.

I don't buy the argument that Walcott was told to stay high up the pitch because you can see him in the shot not far behind Martial. 
I think Walcott has done well, he's been a decent signing. A bit frustrating at times in his attacking play, but I've not really had any issue with his defensive work until that one incident at the weekend.

It's Coleman's man all day, but Keane hasn't marked his man which has then forced Coleman to shift in side to pick him up. Walcott then comes back to cover as the other two are out of position. 
Walcott if the others had done their job is waiting in the space left open by Martial being forward. If we won the ball back he'd be the outlet to counter. Most likely a tactical decision. 
If the play comes down our right Walcott would have been chasing. As it's not Coleman marks the winger and Walcott cuts out the full back. 

i think you and I Haf have been the only ones who haven't been enamored with him.  glad others are catching on.

Until he gets used to the physicality of the league, its the only place he can play. A bit like Countiho/Silva/Mata etc, he needs to learn what the league is all about first before he can come inside. I see no reason why he cant have their type of impact 18-24 months down the line.

Ramsey is good enough to play in a midfield two behind Gylfi, just throw all the money we can get at him, he’s so much better than anything we have. 

Tbf, Davies’ job is supposed to be about passing accurately. So he should be judged more harshly on that aspect. While Gana does need to be able to pass, and the stats say he’s nowhere near as bad as you think, his job is to give protection and win the ball for us. Two things he does very well. 

We should be doing that anyway.
I'm not his biggest fan but that's not the main reason I think this. We shouldn't be doing with him what we did with Baines, and leave it and leave it. We have to have a plan for succession. 

He switched off again and very easily could've cost us a goal. He covered for Coleman slotting in at right back but looked completely lost, genuinely never seen a football player with so little positional sense in my life. 
Palace played very little through the middle so Gana and Gomes were largely untroubled in the defensive side, most the balls were over their head or to the wing. When Palace went forward it was rare they committed players, they had come for a draw. 
Saying Gana was great yesterday is like praising the Keeper when they've not had a save to make. Easy day in the office. 

More tackles and more interceptions than anyone else on the pitch, despite us having more of the ball. Made more passes than anyone on the field and only Cenk had a better accuracy (only played 10 minutes). His job isn'tt to position himself correctly, his job is to press the ball and win it back as quick as possible, which he is one of the best in the world at.
If he is so bad then why has he been first choice for the last 4 managers we've had? I can't understand this constant bashing of the poor lad!

It’d also help if we whipped a few corners in with pace and power, rather than those stupid floaty things. 

We've looked good from set pieces, just need to start putting them in the back of the net. Mina will take care of that hopefully.

That was the freekick routine that Walcott scored from. We’ve also had Richarlison score his first goal from a freekick scramble and Keane scored a header too.
Don’t think we’ve actually scored one from a corner yet, but the deliveries haven’t been too bad recently, it’s the finishing that’s been the problem. 

I don’t really understand the shouts about his attitude. He’s an aggressive winger who’s asked to use his pace to get in behind and stretch defences quite often during a game; of course he’s not always going to be able to get back to help out in defence, but he still does his fair share. 
My bigger issue with him is always going to be his lack of technique and, to a lesser extent, his finishing/final ball. But I still think the positives definitely out balance the negatives and, worst comes to worst, he’s still an excellent impact sub off the bench. 

Game and a half we were salivating over Bilyaletdinov. I need to see more, Davy Klaassen was MOTM on his debut.
