If you had a company that was failing and in danger of going belly up and you had to make one appointment to save it- would you promote an assistant manager who had zero experience running a huge company llike that and was running just a department with zero pressure or a proved and tested manager who you knew could save the company- bearing in mind you had literally 28 weeks to do it.

I think Rodgers would do well back in the Premier League. Scotland is a shit league but Celtic were really crap before he turned up and now they are a half decent team again. At the moment they would beat us. One of my mates is a hard core Celtic fan and he really rates him.

    I'd have him over Rafa.

I wanted to comment on the game but this thread has derailed completely. Very little sense and football spoken on last 2 pages. Reading it was just as bad as watching Everton desperately wanting to play like a big club while they as a team have not gelled yet.

This looks like a team of fair players who have never played together before. Team spirit and effort are missing. Defenders are generally hanging back instead of pressing. Huge lack of rhytm and pace in attack. We do not look like a side that can score against a top 6 team at the moment. Defensive mids and right back were leaving acres of space to their attackers. On paper we have a better side but they have yet to deliver.

Utter utter shit- totally outplayed, out lassed, out performed and humiliated.

how the fuck Martina is a footballer is beyond me, people saying he was exposed but he is uttr dog turd- Williams not much better, Sandro has not turned up once yet, Klassen is struggling (although they both need a chance) Pickford the next Southall? Fuck me. What's happened to Scneiderlin, he looks lost??
I'm so fucking angry right now- we don't even look like scoring never mind winning.

Barkley has only strung together a decent run of form since Xmas. Before then we were lucky for him to show up 2 matches in a row. He's got a shed load of potential, but not earnt a contract you'd expect to be offered to Lukaku.

Hell this Barkley fellow was hot today - exactly what England is missing in their midfield at the moment. What a player. If only he had better players around him. Really a player to build a team around for the future. I am sure most Everton fans will agree.

Mirallas should be on the pitch here. Lewin an anonymous.

Don't make such a rude comment if you clearly have not read all my posts. Look at the facts - how many balls has Barkley lost and how many chances has he created. If you lose more than you create you are not a creative midfielder.

    Haha you can't help yourself.
Just about to comment on him being a ghost, but you have to blame the midfield. Especially Barkley who couldn't find him with compass and a map.

His passing has been very lazy. Heads gone down, and being confidence player he's gone into a shell. Need something to come off from him soon to get him in the mood, or subbed.

Really one I didn't expect or want to lose, ability wise the lad has the world at his feet he just needs a good run of games

The only reasoning I can see is he's been told he won't feature as much as he'd like at a pretty crucial time in his career and they've decided its the best move for him

I know the likes of Lennon won't have much residual value but I'd much rather throw Geri on and lose Lennon

Stupid decision to let him go. Bags of potential and so young.

Like several others here, I really don't understand this. This young lad deserves to play every week. His talent is extraordinary.

Same. Hopefully he'll play really well and Milan will rue the fact that they were reluctant to add a clause to buy him come July.

Wasted last 20 seconds. Instead of popping it into the box, we pass it backwards and tippy tap it. Drives me crazy.

How many times have we given the ball away in the opening exchanges already. Didn't know that had Rem AND Benteke?
