  1. Tesco helpfully putting up foreign language translations on their express tills, but do they need to actually identify the language? If you're Polish (or Bulgarian) you can presumably read Polish (or Bulgarian) without needing to be told it's Polish (or Bulgarian)
  2. Lordy https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1849136/eu-countries-britain-transport Scheming EU countries leave UK out of 'landmark' transport plans as map reveals betrayal Those devious bastards, why should we be left out of this? Oh, wait a minute (If we'd been included in it the express would no doubt be up in arms that we were still subject to EU dictats)
  3. Where does the plural come from? Gap will open again soon enough, keep the faith.
  4. Doctor Who looks like it's going to be back on form after the dross of Jodie Whittaker and Bradley Walsh (what the hell were they thinking?). Ncuti Gatwa looks like solid casting, and a promising companion also...bit of Clara Oswald about her I think.
  5. Misread this Man United investment thing, thought Harry Potter was buying in Would've made more sense to be fair, they need to find a bit of magic from somewhere.
  6. Be realistic, how is anyone supposed to scrape by on £7.2m a year? You'll be sending him to the food banks next
  7. Freezer filled to bursting point, son pulls out a draw to try to retrieve something...but it's stuck, plainly something has shifted and is catching on another shelf. So what to do? A rational person would stick their hand in to find the offending pack and ease it out of the way. Son, not being rational, decides to use the brute force approach and tugs on the draw with all his might....bang! Glass shelf disintigrates into a gazillion pieces Bodged a temporary fix so it's still functioning happily, new glass arriving Friday.

  9. Just getting back on track...hospital this morning for a blood test, phlebotomist said, "Wow I like your shoes" (they were a different pair as well). Mind you he also complimented my bracelet, think he fancied me
  10. They've just said they're commited to UEFA competition as far as I can see, as opposed to saying they won't be joining any ESL. Will be furiously trying a way to do both.

  12. Would've been Liverpool in the semi so a lucky escape, well in Amadou

  16. Can we not just talk about curry? No, I x'd not.
  17. I saw Slade in 1973, mercifully long before the Christmas single came out...they basically ran through their live album (imaginatively entitled "Slade Alive"). I was thirteen, first ever gig
  18. It's a release clause which they'll have set after he signed a five year contract extension, so he won't come on the cheap. They paid City £11m for him so I can't see it being less than £20m, bit higher if they get promoted.
