Was coming in to make a similar point. There's 1 more equally important result needed before the window opens, and that's sale of the club and removal of the board.

The people who understand the workings of the board are very very uneasy, Stubbs, Michael Ball… literally demanding changes immediately.

yet the only noise is that DBB has sent thankyou letters to the staff, and an article from Maddocks has hit which points the finger at moshiri.

dyche was very clear in his press conference that changes need to happen, he did not recognise any support he has had - we know quite clearly that BK likes to influence his picks to do his bidding. That wasn’t there.
I await the news of change eagerly

Speaks volumes that the board weren't there for final, crucial game of our season.

Probably mate that’s human nature to a degree, not wanting someone to achieve something you couldn’t even though you were given the same opportunities as the other person.

We do need another CB and Zouma would be perfect fit.  He has been at the club before and I really think he would flourish under a manager like Ancelotti.
Mina IMO is just not consistent enough, Holgate/Keane would be the pairing.

bluenosetoffee got a reaction from Romey 1878 in Manchester United (Away) Tuesday April 4th
It was a shame about the result. Yes United were all over us but we defended well and put bodies on the line to keep the 1-0 lead. Unlucky at the end. I didn't understand Koeman's subs though, Pennington on and Calvert-Lewin.

Yes we were getting hammered at the time and added another player to help defend fine. That okay, I get where he is coming from but Lewin on the other hand I don't understand.

    1) Barkley was playing well, him and Lukaku were doing well getting United on the break.
    2) United defenders were tired and I think we needed a bit of pace. Why not chuck Lookman in the mix and say to him. I want you to run at these defenders, take them on and get past them. Calvert Lewin can't do this but maybe he is better at defending I don't know.
Watching the game it looked like we could have easily got a second goal on the counter if we had the right players. Oh well, onto the next game.

65 mil is a good offer for Lukaku. 65 mil plus Remy is an excellent offer.

Spot on - I do believe his agent is making him talk to much. I also believe like you that he is just a generally a nice person and very ambitious. Unfortunately it looks like he is going to move on this summer but if the reported 56+ million is true, double the amount we paid then we can't turn that down.

I'm trying to see the positives in all things at the moment.

Kev hasn't had much playing time in recent months. Cleverley was playing well, then gets a bug and Kev gets the chance to start. Gets two assists, job well done by him.

Geri played really well, got rested and then Lennon took his chance and has assisted or scored in nearly every game since.

We have four players for two positions, last night Lennon and Mirallas did a good job. But when they dip, we will have Geri and Cleverley fresh enough after having a bit of a rest.

The same with Ovioedo, hes always about five minutes from his next injury. When Baines comes back in he will be fully rested from a month without a competitive match.

We've won five out of six games (I think) while Geri, Mirallas and Baines haven't been needed. When was the last time we had this kind of depth to the squad? I think its a great thing. We cant complain about having quality on the bench when the lads on the field are doing the business.

bluenosetoffee got a reaction from Romey 1878 in Martinez - Direction?
I haven't been on this for a while (slap on the wrist) and haven't got the time to go through all the thread unfortunately but I will put my 2 cents in.

I think the reason why we aren't getting results is not because of Martinez and his tactics but fans as well. We have got it in our head that we've got this great squad with world class players. (Great potentially word class players not world class yet) and are expectations are sky high at the moment. I can understand why as well, we do have the best squad we have had in years and years. The questions you should be asking though:

Why is our away form better than our home form?

Everton have conceded 12 away from home and 20 at home.
Away form we would be 6th in the table.
Home form we would be 17th.

We are constantly booing Everton when we aren't scoring or playing possession football. Spurs for example, when Stones was playing around with Son. Running to Howard and turning him Son again and again. We were booing and getting overly excited and Stones had to tell the crowd to calm down. (Pretty sure he mutted "Jesus Christ" under his breath as well).

Away from home the players don't get that and can play their own game. We can't do that at Goodison because we won't let them.
So overall, my opinion is not Martinez as I do believe he is a good manager but the fact our expectations are getting higher and higher.

Bring back the days where we couldn't sign Lukaku, Gerard, McCarthy etc and bring back the days where we had Moyes who couldn't of convinced those type of players to join his team in the first place. Bring back the days where we were patient and realists and a top 7 was what we expected each year!

bluenosetoffee got a reaction from Matt in Summer Transfer Window 2015
I just seen that Patrick Roberts has gone to City.
This home grown rule means nothing and actions needs to be enforced it actually does.

City have got Sterling (who will play), Delph (who might get the odd game) and Roberts (who won't play). Rules need to be put in place to say that an X number of home grown players in the squad (5-6 players) have to play a number of games and also a number of minutes a season. That way it would give players like Roberts and Delph a chance to prove themselves. It would also stop squads putting players on in the 92nd minute and it counting as an appearance. At the moment the rule is a club must have a certain number of home-grown players in their squad. Doesn't mean they have to play them as long as they are in the 23 man squad list. Rodwell and Sinclair went to City and got no game time and now moved on to different clubs. It is absolutely b011ock3 the rule!

Would be nice to see them become a footballing side? Under Hughes they have played a totally different style of football and aren't the same physical side they were under Pulis. He has changed Stoke for the better and so far it is working. If Shaqiri does go to Stoke and can find form then there is no reason as to why they can't get top 6 in my opinion.

Yeah but teams have seemed to have sussed it though. We don't have Barcelona players. When we play a team if they put pressure on us we will crumble, we just need a bit of tempo added into the game but again this is Martinez way because he likes patient style passing and trying to find an opening.

I never understood the hype with him. A purple patch propelled him to the limelight and he's since been deemed not good enough to start ahead of Ashley Young.

No from me. If we're going to fill a loan space, rather it be Gerry.
