Curious if anyone thinks keeping Mina would keep Richarlison happier/from leaving. Personally because I think the answer is yes so I'd rather keep Mina and sell Keane. Building a squad is often about the collective. Not to mention Mina is just a far better footballer and his value right now is pretty close to as low as it can get.

Gotta be rondon or DCL for gray. Come on Frank.

Going to try my absolute best to get to Baltimore. Supposed to start a family vacation that day, maybe they won't notice I'm gone for 16 hours.

In the States we call this a trap game. More nervous for this one than I was for Chelsea or Leicester.

We are not targeting Adama Traore. It's another useless journalist writing a headline because Barca can't afford him and Thelwell was at Wolves when he was.

Same in Albany NY, I suspect.
Haha, no waffling for me I desperately wanted him to finish that. Myko has already taken on a sort of Hibbert folklore. When/if he scores at goodison it will be absolute magic.
P.S. I never predict us to lose so i'll never win this competition anyway haha

That’s very interesting and surprising, when he played did you notice what partners he had most success with.
Did not unfortunately

often the case. Phil Babb got a mega money move to Liverpool cos Paul McGrath made him look exceptional. Seen it happen alot over the years - to a degree mountfield had ratcliffe elevate him. The other one was senderos, crap but alongside kolo toure looked decent.?
Definitely the safest assumption

Put them both together for a season and see what happens haha!
Coincidence over 70 games? No chance. I'm not arguing that Mina and Keane should stay because I don't want them to, I'm just saying evidence shows it's our best pairing. Them together and we play like a midtable club and without Mina we're this s*** apparently.

From the Athletic:
Given the disparity in quality between the two local rivals, perhaps they would have done so anyway even if the 27-year-old had played. Yet the numbers are stark, both in terms of Mina’s availability (or lack of it) and the side’s upturn in fortunes when he does play.
This season, Everton have taken an average of just 0.7 points from the 21 league games Mina has missed. Extrapolate that across a full season and they would end up with 27 points from 38 matches.
In the 11 games he has played, their win percentage is 36 (up from 19 without him) and they average 1.4 points per game. Over a whole season, that would give them more than 50 points.
The numbers were even more extreme for 2020-21 when a 58.3 per cent win ratio with Mina in the team dropped to 21.4 per cent in his absence.

I get both your points here but I just can’t see us putting a team out to frustrate them for a 0-0.
Doucoure for all his efforts is technically horrible, we can’t be turning the ball over to them in midfield or just constantly pumping it long to no one.
DVB, Allan and Iwobi all have enough ability to retain the ball and we might be able to play through their press for Gordon, Richarlison & Iwobi to drive at them.
It’s negative but I would maybe go Godfrey at RB ( Coleman I don’t think can back up after Leicester, Kenny is just not good enough ) for his athleticism. Keane into CB and then we might be to hurt them on set pieces
Good shout for Godfrey at RB. I guess at this point we can't protect Mina anymore.

VDB huge miss. I like Btay's shout and I changed my mind on Rondon. He can definitely help us as a target man for counters but ultimately even though he works his arse off I can't trust Richarlison to cover Mykolenko with TAA and Salah.
Pickford
Godfrey Mina Keane Mykolenko
Doucoure Allan Iwobi
Gordon Richarlison GrayLeicester, and all the better teams, run circles around Delph. Not the game for him.

Liverpool will target Doucoure with press and he will kill us in the midfield. Iwobi is offering so much energy, if he has recovered then he has to play.
Agree to an extent. They’re going to target our entire midfield regardless of who we put out there. I have more faith in Doucoure losing it in a place that doesn’t kill us. Iwobi not so much. And btw that’s not Iwobi’s fault per say he’s the only one with the bravery to accept a pass in a dangerous position, I just don’t have the stomach or heart to see it Sunday when we’re eviscerated in 7.8 secs following his giveaway.

Is there anyone that thinks we're safe?
Seen a few comments in different threads after the utd game. Certainly not calling anyone out specifically just saying this could and likely will get uglier before hopefully we have the stones to get out of it in mid-May.

Can I get this straight? At the end of the season we can give him back to Levy?
Don't believe so. We would have to find someone else to buy him, for a fee or free. He's our player, we just don't pay Spurs anything until he makes a certain number of appearances for us.

Back home. What a way to say goodbye to the Grand Old Lady. Brilliant day all around. Weather, pubs, atmosphere, result. Was in the last row of the upper Gwladys and lost my voice and ear drums when Gordon scored. I'd never experienced 'limbs' before. Will absolutely never forget it. It was complete and utter chaos up there. My ears are still ringing. One thing that will also stick with me forever - we had a get a cab pretty quickly after the final whistle so we couldn't stay for the entire postgame 'lap'. We were 2 miles away from the stadium when we hit the first traffic light and the car rolled to a stop. You could still hear the stadium singing and bouncing. The three of us just looked at each other in complete disbelief.
In terms of the match I agree with so much about what has been said. To watch it live is so different than on TV. Iwobi's work rate was truly unbelievable. No idea how he put that shift in. On the other side I've been giving DCL the benefit of the doubt for weeks. No more. Abysmal performance. The worst player on the pitch and it wasn't really close. No way he should play but when Rondon is your other option he sort of has to. Frank stuck on this one unless he's going to put Dele in and use Richarlison as the main striker. Lastly, great to see Myko step up. He might just be good enough for this level but I also don't see him ever becoming an offensive force. Hopefully Patterson has the goods because they could provide a really nice balance as fullbacks.
Both games I've been to were 1-0 wins. Anyone want to start a gofundme and i'll happily show up to every game haha.
Finally, said it a few years ago after the first visit but it bears repeating. Thank you. Thank you for giving this random American a footballing home. I can't make it to a game but every couple of years but I love this club with every cell in my body. You lot who've kept the spirit of the club front and center as football continues to change commercially should be immensely proud. Thank you.
Now let's keep ourselves up for Christ's sake.

New Shirt Sponsor
in General Everton Discussion
Posted
As a yank i'm fascinated by the UK's moral high ground on gambling. And i mean that sincerely. Over here I can count on one hand (out of what some 300 million people) the number of people who would bat an eye at a gambling sponsorship.
As a club we have so few revenue generators I'm all for getting every single quid possible. And they should just put the sponsor on the kids shirt. Most kids won't recognize what it is and those that do it falls on them and their support system to learn/explain the risks associated with gambling. Most are being naive if they think having Stake.com on the front of a kit is going to make the difference between developing a gambling addiction or not. The correlation is close to non-existent. It's interactions with friends/family and personal circumstances that play an enormous role.
