I think it's incredible and I'm particularly pleased with Dan Meis' enthusiasm for the whole project. It seems to have really made an impression on his career so far. They way his firm is collaborating with the club sounds really constructive and seeing them prioritize the repurposing of Goodison just makes it all the more impressive. 
I don't think I expected to see a reflecting pool in any of these renderings; I'm genuinely surprised for the most part and surprise itself is so rare. In a way I probably expected to be underwhelmed but this definitely isn't boring. I really love the lattice work and the fact that it's visible from most vantage points. It seems both elegant and grounded.

Gomes isn’t a DM. He’s just a central midfielder. His strength is having players in front of him, so he will sit deep. 
Gana is the DM, but the manager tells him to press high up the pitch. 
Just because Gomes will sit the deeper of the two doesn’t make him defensive, it’s just making the most of both of these players skill sets. 
If Marco asked Davies’s or Schneiderlin to play instead of Gana, he may ask them to carry out the same tasks. They may or may not carry them out to the same level as Gana.
The same as I said to Pete, your issue is with the managers tactics. Not the players involved. 

He has two years left on his deal. You think he will sign a new one? I’m doubtful of that unless he gets serious game time. If it’s him and Bernie for left wing and Charley and let’s say a Malcolm for the right that means Walcott would be the one to make way. Or does he want a left footed player for the actual left side?  I’d prefer to keep Lookman over Walcott all day. If we sold Walcott and McCarthy that might buy you Malcolm. Walcotts wages are massive aswell.

I think we should be looking to bring in long-term successors to both positions, given there age.  I'm also on board with cashing in now, if the money's right and replacements are ready.

Mostly just hoping to see some heavy dead wood and wage shifting, then bringing some youngsters through.
That said, Luka Jovic would be the (now unrealistic) ideal striker target.  Fulham could also be worth raiding, if some bargains can be had.  I still like Seri and Mitrovic would be a good fallback striker/Tosun replacement.  Sessegnon would be way too expensive and not an area of need, unless Richarlison gets sold.

I don’t think anyone on this site thinks Silva is killing it right now. Results obviously say otherwise, and his set piece statistics are abysmal. I know I think his set piece tactics are absolutely shit, and I would imagine pretty much everyone else on this forum thinks so, too.
Whether or not he’s doing a great job now is not the point. The point is that if we continue to have a revolving door of managers, no one will ever be able to come in and settle the squad, as it will continue to be an absolute hodgepodge clusterfuck of a squad. Establishing a winning culture can take time in any sport in any league, and is magnified even more in a league that is both the world’s biggest stage and a sport that relies so much on mentality.
It comes down to expectations and I think the majority of us happen to be a bit more realistic in our expectations than is anyone who is currently calling for Silva’s head.

Jesus. I don’t like is attitude either and his form has been poor but that’s largely down to bad tactics playing him out of position, plus the team doing not well, particularly midfield.
It was only 6 months ago we were all giddy because he getting call ups to Brazil! 
Can we please stop calling for heads to roll and selling players off after seriously short periods of time?!
