Isaiah got a reaction from Sibdane in Man of the Match @ Hajduk Split
I haven't been here long so it's probably not my place to offer an opinion on this, but anyway - votes shouldn't be made public. Why should people feel pressure to explain or justify their choices for MOTM? There are people on this forum who take certain parts of football crazily seriously, and who get bent out of shape over opposing opinions. Why offer up yet another way for that to happen? I was sometimes the only person to vote for Rom last season, which drew responses of "what fucking idiot troll voted for Lukaku?", and I wasn't trolling, I had my own reasons for doing so based on the game I saw. But once those replies began, I stopped voting in the MOTM threads because it just wasn't worth pissing people off over something so trivial.

If people want to say who they voted for, then fine, but if not, why should it be public? You risk turning certain people off voting (I mean people who don't come here for the confrontational exhanges). Just my opinion. Great forum by the way.

Isaiah got a reaction from Quinn31 in Europa Group Stage Draw
Good draw, happy with it. Not an easy group. I'd far rather we play these kinds of teams than labour our way to winning the group by playing teams from the arse-end of Kazakhstan and east Ukraine, crapping on our league form in the process, only to then get knocked out the first time we face a team anyone's heard of in the last 16. This is a proper test of where we are (at least Lyon and Atalanta are, don't know much about the 4th team). Short travel times and teams who aren't walkovers, it's exactly what I wanted.

Everyone was afraid of getting Hoffenheim, but Liverpool just brushed them aside in the CL qualifiers. They mullered them. Not to be controversial by drawing comparison to them, but that's the level we should be at with the players we have. We shouldn't be struggling to beat these kinds of teams, not with our wealth, players, and relative managerial experience. If we can't easily get out of this group, then we're not winning the tournament.

I was following a Spurs forum yesterday for their draw, and I loved what I saw. All the Utd, City, Chelsea and Liverpool fans were laughing at them, saying they've got a shit draw and were going to get knocked out, whereas the actual Spurs fans were delighted, because playing the likes of Real Madrid is exactly the test they wanted to see their team face. I loved that mentality, rather than seeing City fans rejoice over getting 'soft' teams to play. What kind of 'sport' mentality is that? You're happy that your team of a billion pounds has been gifted an easy passage to the knockout rounds? Anyway I digress...happy with the draw, and I'll be at the Atalanta away leg.

Some more strong teams have gone out tonight (Ajax, Brugge, Fenerbahce, Legia Warsaw, PAOK). Really happy we got through this tie, and (it's looking like) without any injuries. .

I've deliberately kept out of all these threads because I knew some would be lining up to volley Koeman over this. Endbof the day they are a much much MUCH better side than us- Koeman got his tactics right- we nicked a goal and defended excellently. If you go toe to toe with City with the players they have (even with 10 men) you're getting twatted.

It was a stupid header from Holgate, to just nod it up in the air into your own box like that is schoolboy stuff and if he doesn't do that we win 1-0 and things are totally different.

Such a shame because he was excellent all game as well, he should have flicked it out for a corner but he's young and will learn from it all. 4 points from the first 2 games is more than most where expecting- point against Chelsea and if we beat Spurs we'll be flying from a set of extremely difficult matches.

Respectfully, I strongly disagree with your assessment. For one, we have bid 40m+ which is considerably more than Everton have ever bid for any player. This alone should prove we are willing to splash the cash. The idea that because we have significantly more money we should just pay whatever clubs want is a bit misguided in my opinion. If we get a reputation for being a club who is weak in negotiation we would regularly be taken advantage of. It can be frustrating to not get a player because of a few million but those millions we save are going to add up and help improve the club in the long run. Almost everyone agrees that Sig is being priced too high so I don't quite get the criticism when our management agrees and tries to get a better deal.

I'm actually glad that we aren't just handing over the money.... absolutely rudiculous fee.

Swansea surely must be just trying to keep face now. It Will be an undisclosed fee.

Patience on the LB/CB and ST. Koeman surely waiting until Europa League progression. They aren't required (numbers-wise, we can argue talent elsewhere) if we don't progress. Also EL group stage gives him bargaining chip with potential signings. He clearly wants Sigurdsson regardless.

Some very decent teams (PSV Eindhoven, Freiburg, Bordeaux, Gent) already eliminated by 'minnow' teams. Just goes to show these early rounds aren't walkovers.

All the people decending him can stop now- he was offered a good contract at a time his boyhood club are about to build a newstadium, fresh injection of investment and playes finally being signed but he wants a fresh challenge.

He 100% wont get in a CL team. The lads deluded.

Game over. Slovakia it is. No pushovers clearly, but if we don't beat them over 2 legs, we don't deserve to be in the competition.

Chelsea have bid 75 mill. Time to fleece someone now. The very fact United and Chelsea are locked in a bidding war for Lukaku speaks volumes about the dearth of available strikers. The media keep talking about how 75 million is a "fair price" for him. Fuck 'fair prices', we need to commit daylight robbery here. If City spent nigh-on 50 million for John Stones, then Lukaku should be going for twice that.

    From the BBC website.
With a double against Hull City in March, Romelu Lukaku became the first Everton player since Gary Lineker in 1985-86 to hit 20 league goals in a season. Lukaku is also only the fourth player to score more than 80 goals in the Premier League before turning 24 (also Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler and Wayne Rooney). He has also scored more goals than any other Everton player in Premier League history (68). Lukaku is one of only three players to have scored more than 10 goals in each of the last five Premier League seasons (alongside Giroud and Aguero).

Ok .... put the glue down Pete...
Bale was single handedly tearing the likes of inter Milan defence apart in the champions league. Lukaku has been placed in the back pocket of some shite defenders and in nearly every important high profile game he's played in he's fluffed his lines.

£75m will appear to be a lot of money when United fans are demanding rashford starts ahead of him.

He would never have been sold for £150m by Chelsea cos he never had the bottle to stay and fight for his place at Chelsea amongst a finished Torres and co.

Id swap lukaku for benteke yeah. Both lazy but one can at least control and head a ball.
