I wrote in ths thread way back when we bought him that he's a good player. I live in Russia and watch the Russian league closely. Yes, it's a poor standard, but anyway he showed great talent here. This league is not uniformly shit, it did produce some great players such as Arshavin and Zhirkov and Dzagoev (and a young lad at CSKA called Alexander Golovin, who Everton should snap up, he's absolute class). I don't know why it didn't work for him at Everton, but I still believe he can (and hopefully with Hull, will) be a very good premier league striker. I'm happy for him that he scored tonight.

Now would be a good time to point out that 'cocksure' is one word. Making it two leads to some seriously ambiguous posts.

It's called business, the rs will nearlly always turn us over, I've won hundreds of pounds over the years on this game.

I actually take a bit of perverse pleasure in us never winning it and go along with Steve's view to a point. Certainly it's a route into a European competition (that most clubs don't want to be in) but it's also always for me, even more so in recent years, been the Mickey Mouse Cup. We've had five goes at winning the final (replays included) and it seems it's just not to be.
 
The fact that Liverpool have won the thing more times than anyone else just devalues it further, big congrats on winning the trophy where everyone plays their reserves!
 
I realise we want our day at Wembley, I'm lucky enough to have them in my locker, but I've just come to terms with the fact that if I live to 150 we're never going to win this thing. We move on.

Fan psychology is a funny thing though (I'm guilty of this too by the way, I'm not 'blaming' anyone here). When it looks like we're signing him for 30 million - "Fucking ridiculous, I'll cry if this goes through". Then another rival club comes in for him: "Twats! He's ours, we saw him first! He'd have been a great signing..."

I'm starting to come to terms with it. Fuck it, I'll trust RK. 30 million sounds a lot I guess but when you consider Sunderland spent 16 million today on some guy even the BBC pundits had never heard of, it gives an idea of how nuts the market is now. A consistently great player in the premier league simply can't be bought for 30 million it seems.
 
I still hope we don't sign him, but the second he puts his name on a contract with the Everton emblem on it, he'll have my full support (until that moment I'm still praying it's an elaborate ruse to throw other clubs off our real target and not get fucked over like we did on the Lucas Perez transfer).

Gabbiadini is a fantastic, fantastic player with tremendous upside, his natural role is second striker.

2 winger in very very large position, with pace, dribbling and cross ability, one powerful center forward with great strike ability, a finisher (like Higuain).
Before Gabbiadini Higuain reserve was Duvan Zapata (6 ft 1 in).
 
Gabbiadini main abilities are shot, first touch, give & go, motor, he don't fit Sarri soccer vision.
Gabbiadini lost confidence and then stop fight for position.
 
 

I agree. Him & Gana have been revelations so far this season, no way should he be dropped.

Shouldn't walk back in IMO. How good does Holgate look. Think I'll be wrong about him. He looks like he could become a Rolls Royce
