Sevilla has never been a top club. The man has won Europa League and still managed to finish in a respectable position within the league in a very long season and then he did it again and again. Bear in mind Europa League has two more matches to be played before reaching the final compared to CL. It's exhausing as fuck and unless you got two world class players on each position, as Barcelona and Real do, its absolutely impossible to compete for multiple silverware on domestic and continental stage. Sevilla never had the potential to break the top 3, and what he did is the bare maximum that could be delivered. As for PSG, he won everything that could be won in France in these two seasons he was in charge, except of course the league title he lost once.

I'm a fan of Emery. He won three consecutive Uefa League titles, even got Arsenal on the finals too. That surely means a thing, he knows his stuff. Arsenal were impatient with him IMO. They certainly need improved defence.

The thing with emery is he has won plenty of things.  Sevilla and PSG.  He just needs a staff to deal with the players.  Maybe this time he hires someone.  He’s not a man manager. He is a tactician.  This worked at Sevilla because Monchi was so hands on.  Same at PSG.  Maybe it works here with Brands.

we could do a lot worse than emery in my opinion.  Probably the best of the realistic options we have.

That team and him were that poor the owner wouldn't pay the fees to be in the division below, opting to drop an extra league instead.
Happened to be at their game that put them in the relegation playoffs and it was dour. Marco Silva would have been proud.

Rotten score, rotten predictions. Congratulations, though, to plaidharper for scoring 4 points. That puts him in a tie for first for the season with Bailey, with dunlopp9987 just one point behind. sibdane leads for the long month of December, while Bailey leads per prediction.
A quick reminder that you lose a point for failing to predict one week. If your total score for the season drops to -3, you're out of the game for the season and you're removed from the table. Haiku: You dropped to -3 and I removed you a couple of weeks back. You predicted this week, but it would take me too long to track down all your predictions for the season and add you back in. Apologies, but I must stick to the rules or it creates too much work for me. Of course, you're welcome to make a prediction anyway!

I agree with what you said above, but Arteta is not a worthwhile risk. He has no managerial experience whatsoever and you call that a worthwhile risk, when our premier league status it at jeopardy? I'm surprised that many overlook Rafa as our next manager. The man has won 13 major trophies, including 2 La Liga titles and 4 UEFA cups. Is there anyone more experienced than him, that is within our reach at this particular moment!?

Not a good shout for me. I wouldn't gamble our Premier League status with someone who has zero experience managing in Europe. It's not the right time for us to experiment while we are on the brink of relegation.

Last week that was true. But as fans we did to be big enough to admit when players deserve credit. Yesterday Sidibe did very well and was one of the better players.
My opinion is never personal. I love Everton before any player. If a player does well for us, that’s great... whatever his name is.
unfortunately it works both ways. So Davies has to take the criticism as well.

I don't think it was his fault. A very few questioned Koeman & Walsh, Silva & Brands prior to their appointment. It just didn't worked out as it was expected. Putting all the blame on Moshiri isn't right. We may sign Pochettino as our next manager and he could fail too.

What? Witsel was better back then, he's even better now. Schneiderlin was United misfit and when we splashed the cash, they happily let him go. If we continue to buy misfits from those above us, I don't know how do we expect to move above them in the first place.

He's an Everton player. Apparently it's Everton choice whether he stays or leaves, not Kenny's.

I’m going to implement my right to remain silent and no comment 😀.
Like I said negligence is no defence he’s guilty of breaking Gomes ankle with a dirty challenge from behind, which should have stood as a 3 match ban, but some are trying to portray him as innocent of any wrongdoing, and even worse in my opinion actually feel sorry for him whilst Gomes is going through a nightmare for a footballer.
For me justice has not been meted out even if yellow stood that wouldn’t be the correct punishment.

Why can't we play like that every match? Even if we had lost, that wouldn't bother me much after such performance.

There are two sides on the coin. Being under Ottoman slavery for 5 centuries, having fought our freedom in 1878 (the same year Everton was formed) with the help of Russia, nobody knows how cruel the Turks can be better than us Bulgarians. However everything that Kurds are doing is a pure form of terrorism that dates back from at least a century. We can relate to them, they are fighting for their freedom. At the same time it is perfectly understandable that Turks hate them, since literary everyone has lost a relative after Kurdish attack over the years. What I mean, there's rarely a right and wrong side in any war. In other words, everyone has a valid reason to be right looking from his own perspective.

He wasn’t saluting the genocide of the Kurds, though. I’ve seen him do this before. It’s how he celebrates. Let’s not read too much into how players celebrate.
PS - I just read the BBC article and take back what I wrote.

Questioning the level of homework performed on JP G before signing. His injury record is shocking!

I feel I must apologize on behalf of my "compatriots". That was bizarre to watch. That scum is overloading our national league, making it unbearable for normal people to go on the stadium and enjoy football. Yet they are going on international matches. Embarrassing, because these shitheads are coming from a few ultras organizations and are making us look like a third world country, which we are not. I hope police will do something about it, I think it's very easy to track them down. Please, understand these scumbags are minority and are not representative of our welcoming and kind towards other nationalities cultural treat.
