And that’s where we are unfortunately, if he does I do think he will do a decent job for us.

I don’t think we do/will have a worse squad than last year. So often we just think in terms of additions. Players like Garner, Onana, McNeil, Patterson are very likely going to be better and that boosts the squad. It’s also likely we get more out of DCL. We have more stability in management.

Dyche never gives anything away, I wouldn't read a thing into his comments.
He's our former communications officer (and actually did communicate very well), an Everton fan and works for Sky.

Both players are very young and will be prone to dips.  Both very mobile and skilful and have a high ceiling.

whether we like it or not we aren’t in the market for players of similar attributes who are proven or consistent, cos they get signed for big money.

id like to sign gnonto as I do think he is more likely to be a guaranteed return on investment, but Sulemana does have the X factor like gnonto and if we can get him on loan I’d like to think they can push each other.

get both. Either player will need rotation and may be great impact subs if not starters.

You all know that the club may be looking for more options to attack? I mean rather than buy a carbon copy of Dom, we may actually be looking at ways of switching up play.
Can see it now. It’s not working today with Dom up top…. Let’s bring Dom2 on and see if that works.
Or… and this may be way out there…. Let’s bring on a different option.
I don’t think any of us know what style Dyche will play.
I would be more than happy if we played the same style he did last season, but with more quality. I prefer exciting football rather than passing to sideways and backwards just to keep possession.

I’m so think you will see different tactics though Palfy.
Last season it was necessary for us to have a team that was as compact as possible. We couldn’t afford to play players like Gray as we were in a desperate situation. We needed an Iwobi to help out at the expense of expressive football.
With a clean start, we may see Dyche try to win more matches and so open up with more expressive players. Of course, this is all a maybe.

This guy is ready to start and flourish in the Premier League. If he joined a team like Brighton, he would end up with at least a dozen goal contributions. People would look at him like they do now with Mitoma.
Leeds can hold out but what does that do for them? If he strops, doesnt play, gets injured etc, his price drops. If they leave it last minute, they have lost the chance to get their own replacements in to give them the best chance of staying up.
There are a lot of hypotheticals here but I don't see Leeds turning down a reasonable offer for him.

Everton’s greatest period in history was born from buying players that were in the twilight of their career and mixing them with young hungry players.

FFP was branded as protecting clubs from getting into trouble, but it’s bullshit. In this scenario it’s stopping a billionaire spend money on a business he owns.
We aren’t in danger of going bust, yes he’s spent his money badly, but Everton football club could be sold tomorrow to a new owner and they would have to live with the restrictions placed on a previous owner. Who is that protecting?
We’ve just sold our biggest asset, potentially at a reduced price, due to a time restraint put in place by the authorities and seemingly can’t spend the money.
    Who is that protecting?
FFP does not stop clubs going bust, it does not stop teams getting themselves in trouble. It protects the teams that bring in the biggest viewing figures around the world. It protects the teams that bring in the highest value of bets placed on a match day. It protects the teams who are members of the G14 who, for all intents and purposes, run football in Europe.

We hear stories about it’s there to stop what happened to Leeds and Portsmouth, bullshit. There are ways to do that if they wanted. Billionaire owners could put money into a trust or bond as part of their takeover, to be used should something go wrong. But no, let’s cap spend.

PSG breaches it and just pays the fine and carries on regardless. They now give MBappe the most ridiculous contract in football history and get away with it. Barca get in so much trouble, stop paying their players through the pandemic (still haven’t paid them) and spend all summer buying whoever they want.
Who is being protected there? Even the players aren’t protected at Barca.

FFP is there for the status quo. Nothing more nothing less. It’s a cartel with a fancy name. Think the European super league idea was dead in the water? It started years ago and we didn’t even notice.

I’m not even remotely arsed about any sell on fee. I want to see us have options upfront

    It’s called competition for places

What if Cenk doesn’t work out or if he gets a serious injury ? We would then be right back to square one

We are only 7 points off the drop zone

Cenk - unproven and only has 60 minutes Premiership experience, could take time to bed in

DCL - promising youngster but has not been able to score the goals we need

Niasse - probably leaving and not good enough

Nah your right why the fuck would we want a proven goal scorer

Injury troubles are his/our biggest worry but I've always thought Arsenal manage injured players badly ala Wilshire
For a player who's predominantly played as part of a front three or out wide alongside some fantastic forwards his return and assist rate isn'tt to be sniffed at many of which were off the bench
One of the quickest players in the league who does have an end product will hopefully have a point to prove and has captained his side at times is a snip at £20m in today's world

Neil Warnock has no integrity whatsoever, just ask people who have played for him. BS is not my first choice but after 50 years of watching the Blues (45 as a season ticket holder) I don’t care who it is. Every single boss out there is a gamble. I didn’t want the manager of Blackburn Rovers in 1981 and look how that turned out. I did want RK and, again, look how that turned out. Sam is not a crook as some on here seem to suggest. What he is is a very experienced take no bullshit manager who tried to help a mate out and lost all he dreamed of. No reflection on his qualities as a manager.
As I said not my first choice but possibly just what is needed.

This thread is like the transfer thread. Everyone is reading snip bits from the press and raging about it.
why is there a huge rush to get someone in?
Why do we believe everything we are reading from the press for a change?
lets stay calm guys and give the club a chance. I hope the club takes its time and gets the right fit in this time. If it takes until the new year then I’m fine with that.
werw not in the desperate situation many suggest. If the season ended today.... we wouldn’t be relegated.

I'm going to stick my neck out and said I've long been a Dyche fan. He can organize a side, gets them to work hard, and has had results with inferior caliber players.
Will this translate to success at Everton? I don't know. He'll have to play less defensive football here, create a more attacking side, show aptitude in buying higher value players, and set out the team to at least have a chance to win every match. Who knows what ideas he'll have or what he's capable of doing with a better caliber of player. Whenever managers take a step up, it produces varied results, but I would argue the same for managers stepping down (Could Ancelotti manage our side? Much easier to set up Lewandowski, Robben, Ribery)
Poch has been very successful in transitioning from Southampton to Spurs, Brendan Rodgers was mixed results at Liverpool, Moyes was a success then stagnation here, Martinez was a quick success turned calamity here. There are no guarantees, but there aren't guarantees with appointing Unsworth, a man with zero senior management experience, or a foreign manager with zero PL experience, or a manager who hasn't managed any club but a superclub before.

Someone tweeted  at a Watford fan who was saying we were deluded if we thought we could  take Silva from them- “listen you little scruffs, Wigan and Southampton fans said exactly the same thing, if we want we will take your manager off you and make him shite inside -18 months”
    I thought it was funny.

Give Unsworth a chance. Why do we need a manager with a high profile rep?
why do we need a manager that has a proven record?
we want to find that next hidden gem to play for us, why not a manager to?
let Unsy have a go and see how he does. If he does well by Christmas, then give him the end of the season and the board can take a look at the plan he puts together, and decide if it’s something they can buy into.

We need both. Siggy provides creativity, and a goal threat but is not a striker, we need both.
