In the end our abysmal goal difference might be our undoing.

Plenty left to play for but I'll admit it's getting a bit nervy.

Not many will have expected anything from away to Arsenal, so we’re where we thought we would be, other than being battered and humiliated ( by a really good team so maybe not too bad)
The lack of a goal scorer and someone to hold the ball up is our main problem, goals of course are obvious, but if we can’t keep hold of the ball playing out of defence, the midfield and defence are always going to spend the majority of the game under pressure, and will inevitably crack, which is affecting their confidence.
Not bringing in a striker who can hold up the ball will be the reason we drop off it does happen.

Wiggytop got a reaction from Matt in Dwight McNeil
If only he could hit the ball with his right foot, he would be so much better, I really can’t get my head around the fact that he’s clearly never put any effort into developing some form of ability with his right ( other than propping himself up)

It's embarrassing that a professional footballer can't do anything with their weaker foot.
I actually hesitate to call it a weaker foot because, in his case, it's utterly non-existent.

The absolute frustration for me is that if we had a big striker who was half decent we would be clear of the drop zone.  One player…. One fuckin player.

I’ve got no issues at all with dyche and actually think if we go down he’s the right man to get us back up.

but it’s a fuckin piss take that we nearly missed out on him due to moshiri being moshiri and also the fact that he should have been in place pre World Cup.

That game should have been dead and buried at half time. We dominated the first half and apart from one chance (I think) Villa didn't have a sniff.
We were superb in that half. Pressing well, winning the ball back in dangerous areas, using the ball well, getting the ball into the box and creating openings/chances. We just didn't/couldn't put the ball in the back of the net and that really is the most important thing and it's cost us big time today. That three points should be ours but instead we're coming away with nothing.
Second half we weren't quite as good but even then just before they got the penalty we had one cleared off the line. Once they scored though we were done, you could see our heads had dropped. We were still trying but the same intensity just wasn't there.
The performance was encouraging, we seem to be creating chances now whereas that is something we were hugely struggling with, but the result was a suckerpunch. We have to find a way to score goals.

Just really disappointed. We played very well, but if we can’t score then it doesn’t mean anything.

Went for McNeil. My only criticism of him is his reluctance to take a shot with his swinger, needs some serious right foot shot training, but aside from that best game he's had in an Everton shirt.

Anyone watching that match knows that our players stick up for themselves for once.
McNeil was pissed off at the way that free kick was brought, then pretty much got threw over the barriers.
Doucs was kicked by their keeper… who got away with it, not even shown on highlights…. And he was fuming.

We’re starting to see a little toughness coming in… a little overzealous at the minute, but not just rolling over and having our bellies tickled.

Been a while since he fucked up like Courtois and Allison did last night, not forgetting Martinez last week-end.

We owe him this. We would be on the championship if it wasn’t for him.
Keeping him is a massive incentive to new players coming in.
