Boston Toffee reacted to Cornish Steve in Burnley (home) Carabao Cup
What matters is momentum in the league, and we're building that. It would be foolish to tire our players ahead of a game for which the Brighton team is fully rested. I'd hate to see us be relegated at the end of the year because we dropped points against Brighton. We should plan as if we need 52 points to be safe this year. Everything else is secondary.

Which is more important: going all out to beat Burnley in this meaningless cup, or securing 3 points at the weekend? If we're docked 12 points, as rumoured, every single point in the league is precious. Do we want to risk a 75m plus financial hit with relegation to win a trophy that generates virtually no revenue and carries no cachet? Let Burnley tire their players for the weekend league match, not us. Priorities, priorities. Brighton have no midweek cup tie, so they'll be playing us in three days' time with a fully rested team.
If we have to risk players who are just starting to gel, at least rest our spine: Pickford, Branthwaite, Onana, and DC-L. McNeil and Harrison were clearly off their best against WHam, so give them some rest as well.

it is also about getting some decent game time for other players. I would like to see Beto and Danjuma starting this game.
I think from a squad moral point of view it is important to give finge players game time. This helps them be more effective when subed on or if the need to come in to the team due to injury etc.
can't help but feel DCL is still needs treating with care, so a rest on the bench for a mid week game would seem sensible at this time. same with Harrison as well.

Boston Toffee reacted to Ghoat in MotM versus WHam
100% agree. Not motm, but I think Patterson made the case he belongs to be first choice at rb.

Brainthewaite followed by DCL, Onana, and Mykolenko

Boston Toffee reacted to Formby in Predict our results: 2023-2024 season
I think Boston was predicting the March fixture well in advance. Sad to see he still has us scoring zero goals.

Congratulations to Craig Pawson who should have been voted MotM cos there should be no doubt that he, and he alone, was the decisive figure.

Can we really lose the first five home games of the season? A record of 1-1-6?
The form says yes, Boston Toffee says yes, but Formby is made of sterner stuff.
Everton 3-1 Bournemouth
Doucoure

Boston Toffee reacted to badaids in Sean Dyche
I think we should get in that religious nut Welsh bloke who was at Southampton, if we can afford to sack Dyche. Got to keep this comedy act going somehow.

Boston Toffee reacted to Palfy in Sean Dyche
He needs to stop going on about missed opportunities against Fulham, Wolves, and now Luton and look at himself for why we are losing games to the team’s that will be around us come the end of season relegation fight. The world is full of people who have achieved nothing in their career and cry about missed opportunities and things not going their way, when in reality it’s the decisions they make and their own application that dictate whether they will be achievers or not, that’s a bad trait to have if you are a football manager using lame excuses for losing at home to Luton Town, how about constantly tinkering with the team and then asking for consistency as a reason we are losing.

Boston Toffee reacted to Hafnia in Sean Dyche
This.
unfortunately for dyche he thinks he’s too smart for his own good.
a good insight is his interviews, someone makes a good observation and he disagrees but then chats a load of word salad and more or less agrees with them.
can’t be doing with him. Our team doesn’t look like it’s coached.

Finally enjoyed a match... lot of good performances. Brainthewaite plays like a seasoned vet. Doucoure is so awkward but gets big goals and works hard always.
I'm not a huge drinker, but the beer tastes much better after 3 points!!

Boston Toffee reacted to Matt Tiger in Brentford (Away) 23rd September
Was incredibly encouraged by our purpose this match. Our passing still in inconsistent and we were again prone to mistakes. But our midfield looked to play decisive balls, Beto plays a great hold up man, and we were dangerous throughout.
weve deserved more this far this season and it’s great to see the squad pick up some much needed points against a strong side on the road. Lastly, shout out to garner on his ball for the third. His creativity has frequently seemed better in theory than in practice to me but he picked that out perfectly.
