I figure you guys will get a kick out of this. Background information: the state of Louisiana has a law that essentially allows science teachers to teach creationism in science classrooms. Despite the fact that this is blatantly unconstitutional, Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal, a favorite for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, signed the bill into action. Here, we get to listen to a Louisiana senator completely botch the concept of evolution. Again, these are the kinds of people in charge of education in America. Numerous studies, polls, and censuses consistently show that anywhere between 25-35% of American citizens do not "believe" in evolution.

DK, your the only person i've seen on here who can kick up a fuss and then calm himself down in the same post...

But a boxer won't change the good parts to his fight. We have a good left, the idea should be to add to the right and the middle. Not change the left for change sake.

I think him and Coleman were also very good together against Fulham, two best players on the pitch if I recall correctly. Unless we actually get someone in who's best position is right wing, I'd keep Mirallas there. Anichebe and Jelavic up front, Fellaini and Osman (or Gibbo if he's fit) in the middle.

OK lads I've sorted it....thought it was time to take one for the team so I've dropped Jelavic from my fantasy XI.

Baxter is doing well by the way. 11 goals in 25 games for Oldham so far. Hopefully we'll see him in the Prem some day.

Osman is possibly our most technical player. Coleman doesn't have finesse or much in the way of technical ability; he mostly beats people just by running past them because he's quicker.

I'd rather have Donovan on the right than Naismith...

It's not being fickle, it's reacting to new situations. Last season he scored and he got praised, with Fellaini up there as well so it's not like he's not performing now because of Fellaini. Now Jelavic has scored once in his last 11 league games. And it turns out he's really only a poacher who doesn't do much else, so when he's not scoring there's bound to be criticism of his game. I don't like the type of striker he is. Intrinsically, sure, he's a better finisher than Anichebe, but Vic offers more to the team than just goals imo and he's been the one who's getting on the score sheet as well of late. And I think Vellios is capable of doing the same, perhaps even more as I think he has a better touch.
 
Also, could we all stop attacking other people over what they think is best for Everton. Calling people fickle or coming up with statements like this:

It sort of ruins the mood. Surely we can all talk about this without the petty little digs at each other.

Would be an unbelievable transfer. That's why it's probably not going to happen. I think Rennes will be looking to get their money now, not in the summer.
 
If it meant we could get this guy for £10m, I'd be happy if Chelsea were to trigger Fellaini's £22m (or even higher according to some reports) buyout clause. Then get a winger, like Chadli, in for £7m and line-up like this:

I very much doubt we "need" players like Naismith. What he has done, hasn't been better than what Gueye showed last season, and I'm being nice saying that. If we can't get what Naismith does from one of our youngsters, we should just quit wasting money on an academy.

I wouldn't advocate dropping Jelavic for Vellios but I would like Vellios to get more time than just throwing him on for two minutes at the end of games.

We'd have to bring a striker in to cover that you'd think.

It makes sense to have one specific thread, as you can then look over it and see how the player has developed and what stories they have been involved in. It grind my gears when there is multiple threads about one player, especially if its a transfer rumour imagine how many Robbie Savage threads they'd have been. The site would be littered if we opened a thread every time we watched a movie to talk about it. Plus it makes it easier to track in the future as as most threads digress a little. It keeps the forum neat and tidy which has a better appeal to new traffic. I occasionaly voyeur onto other Everton forums when it's quiet here, but give up as they're too messy.

Snob! Shinji Kagawa was signed by Dortmund from the second tier in Japan. It's good that there are scouts in Asia.
