Truly couldn't care less

As Romey indicated - on pitch and off pitch captaincies are totally different.
i think Tarkowski is a superb on pitch captain, it's about his prescence and managing officials and other players.
Coleman is all about honour and expecting the opposition to be honourable whilst he himself would get up after a bad tackle etc. Coleman is a role model. 
Tarkowski is about dealing with shit, if the opposition are gonna try it on then he's not having it.... he's gonna question the refs, he's gonna be first to let someone know he's there.
No doubt about it - we ain't soft touches anymore. 
 
 

I don't think it's ever been in question that he's a great off the field captain, it's only really been about his on field captaincy.
However, I do feel that the tough years we've gone through really has brought out the best of his on field captaincy. So now you probably wouldn't want anyone else doing it and it would help if he could get himself on the pitch more.

I’m still in Spain back in UK on Friday, I’m not looking forward to my return the weather has been fantastic here low to mid twenties for nearly three and half weeks, just two days rain then sunshine the rest of the time. I hoping I’ve missed the worst of the bad weather you lads have been having, from what I’ve seen on the news and my kids have been telling me it’s been horrendous, so dreading my return, only good thing will be is that I will be able to fill you in a lot more on the pending appeal, I’m sure you can’t wait 😜 
I’ve mistakenly put this in the wrong thread, I am guilty and have no mitigating circumstances to why I did, deduct me as many points as you see fit. 

I checked in on him myself because of that. Life is just busy at the moment. 

My daughter, who's turns 10 later in the year, has her first dance competition semi final dances (her troupe have 2 to perform) tomorrow and it's being held in the Blackpool Opera House. Heading up shortly, will likely miss our spanking from Villa, but proud father right here. 

As Bill was always active in the competition threads, and actually set up and managed a fair few of them himself, we decided to rename that section of the forum in his memory. Sure people will approve...and thanks to @Zoo 2.0for the suggestion.

RIP and a big thank you to Bill for his thoughtful contributions and being a staple of ToffeeTalk. I'm sorry for the loss, though if he is indeed 96 year old Billy Ingham, no doubt a long life fully lived. My condolences, Patto.
 
As a general note, this is an opportunity to thank all of you for contributing to this community - as someone who came to this forum as a new football fan and new Evertonian, I have learned so much from being a member here and thank all of you for increasing my knowledge, football, Everton, and many things else and I preemptively forgive all of you for the brain damage you've caused me on Brexit and Romelu Lukaku.

To all at Toffee Talk thanks for all the kind words Bill did love it on here. 
and I know towards the end his big frustration was not being able to come on and have his say I think his last contribution was to get Beto Haha I wonder was he impressed with him. 
so thanks to all the kind words are much appreciated. 

Can no longer celebrate goals because of VAR.  It is now clearly more about spreadsheets than team sheets. The PL keeps inventing ways to destroy joy... What's next? 

Round 20 produced an awful result, which no-one predicted. Only dunlopp and Matt scored two points, the winning total for this round. For the busy month of December, Romey and sibdane were joint winners, although neither managed to top TT Average. For the season, Boston Toffee retains the lead.
We can take stock after 20 games and the end of 2023. The winner per prediction is Bill. He was the inspiration for this weekly prediction game - I only took it over when he struggled to find the time - so it's fitting that he should come out on top. His sad passing is the end of an era.

Genuinely torn about whether I'd take a 0-0 and no carnage or us finishing with seven men and we get to put the likes of Tielemans, Douglas Luiz and whoever else fancies it out for the season. 
Luiz has been running round all afternoon looking like Drake from Wish, someone that certainly blows himself kisses in the morning when he wakes up.

Known him on TT for the best part of two decades, I disagreed with him pretty much for two decades. I know I had a lot of respect for him and he will be missed by a lot of people here on TT  
Bill made as big a contribution to this place as anyone over the years. He’s a major part of what TT is today and for that I’m grateful.

Sadly today I have to inform the good folk of ToffeeTalk that Bill, an active and constant TT member for more than twenty years, passed away on Wednesday.
In his time he contributed more than eighteen and a half thousand posts and spent many years as a valued moderator and admin, he was really part of the fabric of the site from virtually day one. He didn't always see eye to eye with everyone and was never shy of offering his opinions if he disagreed with something...no bad thing.
I was informed of the sad news yesterday by @patto, who revealed that he was Bill's brother, so condolences and sympathies to him and all Bill's family from all at ToffeeTalk, he'll be missed.
He's doubtless now somewhere telling The Golden Vision how he could've improved himself with a better work ethic!
Thanks Bill, aka Toffeelicker, RIP mate.
