A win is a win but I think some of you are getting carried away talking about not giving them a sniff. They hit the post twice and nearly had a tap in open goal (can't remember who it was). Could have ended very differently very easily. Hopefully the run will instil some confidence though.

This season is most likely a lost cause in terms of achievements. If we can stay up with unsworth in charge then I say give it to him until the end of the season and get a new manager then. We'll have time to assess all options then rather than be tied into an allardyce type character for the long term when that really isn't what is needed.
The only problem would be the Jan transfer window. I'd say get in a new striker, see what defensive bargains there are out there and make the signings a collective decision between Walsh, unsworth and the board. Big money signings without a permanent manager without a long term plan is never a good idea. Also it gives the current players time to gel and by the end of the season we should be seeing the best out of a bunch of players who are quite frankly ten times as good as they're currently showing.

....and yet, if we are honest, most of us were excited by Walsh, Koeman, most of the transfers (cue the not me brigade...I said most, not all!).
And I'd say the majority did not see this happening. Just shows the power of hindsight!!!

    Numerous factors-
too many new players too soon
no cover for Coleman (who has a long term injury)
no cover for Baines (who is finished)
no new centre half with 2 of the 3 finished
    not replacing Lukaku
no width or pace in the side
too many similar players being shoe horned into a side all at once
a manager who had lost the players
no new signings hitting the ground running.
all equals recipe for utter disaster which is what we’re witnessing.

Really hope Calvert Lewin gets a goal soon. He deserves it.
Also hope the fact we're looking better now with pace will mean Koeman can figure out what's going wrong.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho: "We started really well and in the first 30 minutes were really impressive where we were playing probably our best football since the beginning of the season.
"Everton had a reaction in the second half, we lost a little bit of control. We recovered that.
"We brought some consistency to the game and then I felt we could go with the counter, with Martial for the last minutes for a result that was too much, too heavy for them, they don't deserve to go with this result."

More from Jose Mourinho: "They did not have much but had a couple of chances. I remembered Swansea last season with Gylfi Sigurdsson, they scored through a free-kick towards the last minutes and it ended 1-1.
"Everton are going to be fine but they are living a difficult moment. The fixtures they have got, I would not like this all together at the same time. I would like one of the top five, but all of them, that is not fair for them.
