A few MLS teams have already shown interest in him I like Lescott but think we need to move on. Distin's in the twilight of his career and Jagielka's not too far behind. Most CBs have their best years post 30, if we could have got him for free and got 2/3 years out of him I think that would have been seen as a decent bit of business. If you're going to have a defender sit on the bench and come on occasionally, which is all he'd do here, you may as well have it be a younger player as that sort of role would benefit them as they learn. Young CBs need to play to develop, how often do you replace a defender during a game unless they get injured? John Stones came on leaps and bounds when Jags and Alcaraz were injured. Shane Duffy didn't develop nowhere near as much as he would have had he got game time. You need proven CBs on the bench for decent depth IMO.
