Different formations and tactics. You have to build something before you can tear it down, what have we built in the last couple of decades. Not sure if true, but I'm sure I read somewhere that the decision might be taken out of his hands. The English FA may step in and refuse to accept his registration (if he came back to an English club) on medical grounds. It's not something that happens often (thankfully) so not sure how true but would make sense. When something as extreme as this happens it's probably for the best that he calls it a day, as frustrating as that may be for him personally. johnh
When I played, about half a dozen times in a season, I used to get fairly major heart palpitations during a game. Fortunately, it never happened during a crucial stage of play as I was unable to move for several seconds. I never went to see a doc as I didn't want to be stopped from playing. That's probably connected to the atrial fibrilation that I have had for the last 20 years. I used to get about a dozen incidents per year (heart going at 230 per minute on one of the occasions I was in hospital). Saw a new specialist about 18 months ago and he changed my medication. Haven't had a single incident since! Hope the lad pulls through OK but fear it is the end of his playing career. Matt

Yep, in the Eridivisie (Dutch League), after his time in England with Manchester United. From what I understand, each FA have their own laws on where they will effectively deny a player the right to compete, so Blind could play for Ajax but not come back to United, for example. MikeO
BBC journalism strikes again! "Yeah I like it," says McIlroy after his tee shot on the par-two second. And so he should. dunlopp9987
PSG look like they're about to add Hakimi. Between that and getting both Wijnaldum and Donnarumma on frees, they could be front-runners to finally lift the CL.
