Sad to read his retirement message, with the mental health issues around the world hopefully he looks as the positives of his career (he made it as a professional footballer, lived the dream) rather than the negatives that plagued him in the early years. Like he says himself, coming back from so many years out of the game was always going to be an uphill battle.

Hopefully he can move forward into the next stage of his life with happiness and optimism, everyone makes mistakes and unfortunately he paid a large price for his.

Clubs need people like this around the youth players, show them what can happen and prepare them for the worst as well as potential highs.

By all accounts, he’s been working with our youth players - specifically Dobbin. Think it was mentioned in the commentary yesterday.

That’s good to hear. Hope he can make a career in the game in some way and help these lads.

Well worth a watch.  Screwed over by Oldham... Horrible chairman did him out of £600k

Very likable lad,  Very honest and doesn't hide he made lots of mistakes but was very unlucky too.  Turns out what I feared happened a few years ago did happen, was in a bad place and Bill Kenwright made the call - all credit to him.

Wish him well, was an amazing talent and hope he does well in his coaching.
