One of the next supposed next big things from United's academy is Belgian too btw. Andreas Pereira, his father was a Brazilian footballer who came to Belgium to play. Pereira is a number 10 and free kick specialist. He's a year younger though, perhaps he'll be making his way into the first team squad next season.

Roy Hodgson's just said that England have their eye on Januzaj as well. I don't know how it's in England, but you can get Belgian citizenship after living in Belgium for 5 years. Januzaj moved to England 2 years ago so he'd have to stay in England for another couple of years probably before he can even start the process of becoming English.

Apparently you need more than just English citizenship to play for England, he'd have to

  • have been born in England
  • have a parent or grandparent who was born in England, or
  • have been in full-time education in England for at least 5 years before the age of 18.

Don't see how it could happen if that's the case.

And they don't make excptions for young "exceptional talents", like they do when it comes down to granting them a working permit?
