JoeQuince reacted to thoward18 in Zaha
I want Roberto to go after as many Man U guys as possible if only so he can make a snarky comment about how he'd "allow his players to move to a club higher up in the table" if he was in charge at Man U. Then we'd all get to watch Moyes defend not moving any of his guys without contradicting his passive aggressive bullshit about Baines from the summer transfer window.

Matip would be one hell of a buy. He'd be pricey though, wouldn't he? Should we be spending that much at cb when we have greater needs elsewhere? (I have no clue how much they are saying he will leave for)

Im over in AZ in April. If you want to order something to the UK, I can bring it over in April and post it internally if you want?

I'll take some credit seeing as my in-laws and any other relatives / friends over in the US usually get an Everton shirt Im responsible for at least 7 Evertonians in Phoenix AZ, though not sure they follow the club (or wear the shirts for that matter ) but im trying!

Still can't see why people are putting on Pienaar lol. He still ran the game for 75% of the match and occasionally gave the ball away in the last third.
Barkley gives the ball away on the half away line twice and they counter but we don't notice it?
I don't think people appreciate pienaars ability on the ball and his lovely first touch.... Luckily the man that counts does.
Would love to see some stats on him.
But overall a great effort from the boys. Going to miss McCarthy next week.
Jerry with another great cameo.
Barkley had a strange match, great for most the match, still having thosee moments though.
Defense looked resolute today.
Timmy saved us a few times.
But on chances we deserved a point.

I don't know. The last few times he's been in, he's been working hard defensively.

Yeah. I can't see him getting 90 minutes at any prem team right now. Who, other than an Everton supporter, would rate him that highly? He could get in at a championship club fighting to get up the table though. I'm not sure a prem team would be willing to pin their hopes on a relatively unproven under-21 player.

Really want to see Barkley in there after half. Really reeeeeally. Also Jags and Distin are completely incompetent with a ball. But we all knew this.

Martinez has been anything but lucky, yesterday was another example of a referee costing us, the penalty that never was to be added to the baines one against cardiff and the man city one given with us denied...
Give martinez his dues, yesterday he made perfect substitutions at the right time which changed the game for the better. He has utilised that squad well and I think Mirallas will be 'rested' against palace and Gerry will get his big chance.
I don't understand how we can be comparing Martinez to Moyes, there is a day and night difference. Moyes has inherited a championship winning team, spent £27m on one player and missed the opportunity to sign the players he should have gone for... this season he has taken a title winning team and made them look distinctly mid table. His old traits such as negative subs are a common theme with united fans fearing they have completely the wrong man in charge. He is at another club now and I am pleased - simple as that.
Martinez may have things to learn about this everton squad but I am seeing evidence that he is doing that. He is making good decisions based on what he is seeing, his transfer dealings have been very good, getting McCarthy, Barry, Lukaku and we will see how Kone and Alcaraz fare when they are fit.
Lets put it this way a bad day at the office seen us draw against a very good side.... we finished that game pushing for the winner - under Moyes I fear we would have been hoofing it and trying to hang on for a point. This isn't a Martinez v Moyes debate, but unfortunately posts have been made which need to be addressed. We are looking a better outfit now than we did last season, teams know we are going to have a go at them, and not try and "hold on" to 1-0 leads.
In all honesty if Martinez was "lucky" then we would have beaten Cardiff with a penalty, Norwich wouldn't have scored a freak goal, we would have drawn against City and nicked a penalty against Spurs = 7 extra points = Top of the league.

McCarthy really picked it up in the second half. He and Barkley were the difference makers there. We really could've won this one. Barkley should start the derby. Also, I wish we could make Mirallas take a seat on the bench and start Deulofeu in the derby. But, I'm not thinking he's prepared for the stakes. Though, then again, that's maybe exactly the kind of fearlessness we need.
I'm lost.

I don't think Osman looks too bad today. Naismith and Jellyfish are surely our worst offenders.

If you thought I was slating the writing, then it's obvious you didn't have the same reaction to the OP that I did. I meant to convey a feeling of disbelief at the content of the post. That, and the club is anything but stale right now. It's looking a completely different club, in my opinion.
