Kant reacted to Matt in Tom Cleverley
I think he would be ok on the left, allow the link up play with Baines to be more effective and would also allow us a better interaction with the more central players too.
I know he isn't a winger but he offers something completely different to pace - intelligence.

Kant got a reaction from Matt in Tom Cleverley
Bainaar has been the most effective weapon of the team and neither of them is pacey or fast. Their combinations, trickery and intelligence make them unplayable offensively.
Cleverley is still young, a good player, and he is not slow either. I'd like him on loan, with a view to a permanent signing. I can understand what Martinez is doing today: if Cleverley doesn't want to join Villa, MUFC options are Everton on loan (at least Everton would cover his wages) or him not playing for a year and leaving for free.
The outcome is pretty much on Cleverley. If he really wants to join Martinez, all he has to do is to say "Everton or nothing". MUFC has no chance but to allow him to leave. Would you want a sulker in the dressing room?

Kant got a reaction from StevO in Matija Nastasic
PLEASE. DO. IT. (I somehow feel he is out of reach financially, but we can dream).
Stones and Nastasic would be an excellent CB couple for the next 5 years.
You don't get young CBs PL ready easily, and we know this one can be good.

Kant reacted to StevO in Micah Richards
For a young centre half, still only 21, he has everything. Did make a few mistakes at city, but as a 20 year old playing for a side that had just won the league it couldn't have been easy. But we'll never sign him anyway.

Kant reacted to Hafnia in Tom Cleverley
He's a touch footballer, very much in the way pienaar is. I can see him changing alot of peoples opinions if we get him.
Look at pienaar at spurs, his style wasn't suited, nor is cleverleys at united (same way as kagawa).

Kant reacted to Bailey in Tom Cleverley
No that is just where he played for Utd. Pienaar link up play would probably be better but Cleverly is equally as harder worker, he is better in a more attacking role and he played their under Martinez at Wigan. When he played for England in a more attacking role he was actually pretty good but unfortunately he couldn't finish off the moves much like Pienaar! In terms of their actual attributes they are very similar.

Fair enough.
That's only because they don't currently play in the same system.

Kant reacted to bluenosetoffee in Samuel Eto'o
The more I think of Eto'o at Everton the more I like it! In two seasons we have gone from Jelavic & Anichebe to Lukaku & Eto'o. I decided to look at some of the goals from last season at Chelsea. He is still tidy on his feet and knows where the back of the net is. He is in the right place at the right time. He will score goals like Sturridge did on the 1st day of the season vs Southampton. Right place right time but is also great on the ball.
I am really looking forward to seeing him play now and seeing what he can do in an Everton shirt!!

Despite my support for Lukaku, an inform player will always take priority in the picking and thats Naismith at the moment.
Irrelevant debate though, since they're both going to be starting

Kant reacted to Cake in Defensive Frailties
We seem to have gone back to the dreaded (for me) zonal marking. Disaster waiting to happen, whoever uses it.
Also, I used to think Yobo looked like Bambi On Ice whenever he had the ball at his feet but Jagielka and Distin make him look like Franz Beckenbauer (or maybe Rio Ferdinand, when he was at his best, for those who only know the EPL)

Kant reacted to Toffee_in_LA in Summer Transfer Window
I think he is too valuable to the squad to sell and wouldn't be surprised to see him get a new contract anytime this season.

Kant got a reaction from Matt in Oviedo's injury
Oh boy, how good it be if Oviedo comes back at the same level he was last season. He was superb before the injury, even playing as a left midfielder, growing so much.

Terrible preseason.
Not many have hit the ground running.
Feel like Martinez blames the world cup but other teams have coped just fine.
Also feel like Jags' powers are on the wain

joel we all know you want to start but getting on an internet forum and bashing tim howard is not the way to do it. practice well and win your place on game day that way. also i don't think roberto would be happy if he found out you were on a fan forum.

Kant got a reaction from Romey 1878 in Danny Welbeck
The thing is he wants to be the main striker, and Lukaku here is and will be the main man for a long time. He doesn't want to play in the wing and I don't see any other spot for him in this team.
I don't see this happening with Eto'o in the team, besides he is not clinical enough to be the main striker.
I'd prefer if RM spends whatever money is left on a young CB with potential or a young flair winger/attacking midfielder. If there is any money left.

Kant reacted to Quinn31 in Tim Howard
There are probably only 5 or maybe 10 keepers in the world who would be a noticeable step up from Howard. Really, there is no such thing as a perfect goalkeeper, as it really is a tough position.
On Begovic, again, he'd be quite expensive. and I know Stoke have opened up their style of play somewhat, but he's still spent the majority of his time playing behind a Stoke defense and midfield that breaks everything up in front of him, not requiring him to make many last ditch saves.
The people who are so critical of Howard are ridiculous.
*Editi* For Howard, I apply the Hafnia test. If Haf thinks a player is good, then he must certainly be good, as Haf tends to be on the critical side when evaluating player performance (No offense, haf).

Kant reacted to thoward18 in Samuel Eto'o
I've voiced my concerns over the signing but here's a pleasant thought I just had; our backup striker is arguably better than any STARTING striker the team has had in a while. That's a pretty big indicator of the progress Everton have made under Martinez.

Kant got a reaction from Lowensda in Longest Thread For Drivel (or the Romelu Lukaku thread)
At least it happens before the transfer window is closed and not a week after! Now Martinez has some time to react, I am expecting a striker and a midfielder before the window closes.

Kant reacted to Btay in New strategy is emerging
I think that there are lots of different variables between the Moyes and Martinez transfer dealings...
Under Moyes, we were not as established as we are now, we can attract a different calibre of player due to our constant top 6 positions (largely thanks to Moyes)
Moyes did try to bring through young players,he showed plenty of Faith in big Vic/rodwell not to mention Osman/Hibbert and Rooney.
He bought younger players and generally bought well - Stones is his purchase lets not forget and had he stayed another year I'm sure barkley would have gotten time. He didn't have the luxury of the extra 25 money and he is responsible for a lot of the transfer kitty we have had available(Arteta/Felli).
Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted with the signings we have made and the path we are on, I just don't think it's too different to what we are doing now, we just have more funds available.

Kant reacted to Matt in Goalkeepers
He is, but will cost a fair few bob.
As for the digs at Howard, for every clanger I bet there are at least 10 top draw saves.
