patto reacted to marcopaulo in Marouane Fellaini
not shocking..fellaini must've been low on the list otherwise he'd have been bought a month ago
always gonna have a place in my heart for the man city performance...immense

patto reacted to Cornish Steve in Longest Thread For Drivel (or the Romelu Lukaku thread)
Yes. Absolutely. He's been terrible in the first three games. IMO, Kone, while still not at full fitness, has been better. Maybe Mirallas will find his form in training, but we can't afford for him to continue in the first team right now.

Now Chelsea have got Willian a cheeky loan bid for Moses should be a go-er!

patto reacted to Trigger in James McCarthy
Although their maths are wrong, just bear in mind that that if we sell a player for £15m, we do not have the directly to buy one in £15m.
The tax man takes a share when you sell a player and no doubt there are a load of other costs e.g. Legal, Admin, twatty agents etc. that will also get covered.

patto reacted to thoward18 in Ross Barkley
So much animosity towards Moyes, and it's ridiculous. He was poised to use Barkley AS A 16 YEAR OLD but Barkley broke his leg. Then he got 6 games in as a 17 year old. How many 17 year old's are getting any sort of playing time in the first team in the EPL? If anything, we should be thanking Moyes for developing Barkley into the player he has become. So many talented 15 and 16 year old's are nobodies by their early 20s. That's a significant time-period in a person's life and there are never guarantees. All things considered, he handled him well.

I would love to see a line up of:
Howard
Stones Jagielka Distin
Coleman Baines
Fellaini Gibson
Mirallas Pienaar
Jelavic

patto reacted to MikeO in Is Fellaini good enough for Manchester United?
Baines possibly, Mirallas potentially (but not done enough yet).

patto reacted to Louis in Whats your favourite Everton shirt?
The third kits have a habit of being nicer than the away kit. Personally, I like the 96/97 Danka-sponsored yellow with black/blue stripes.

Can you blame him for not signing a contract though? Like you say he won player of the season last season and this season he has been a bench warmer.
Least he isn't one of these players who are happy to sit on the bench and get paid for it. (I know they have do training)
Maybe when the new manager comes in he will look at him and go okay, good player. He might sign a new contract but first wants to see if he plays or not.
Last season he was being linked to City, this season......nobody as yet. I don't think Moyes liked his attitude because why else wouldn't you play him?

Are you being serious? United are on a completely different level than us; financially who they can afford and who they can attract.

patto reacted to Hafnia in James Gandolfini
Anyone who hasn't taken the time to watch the whole series is missing out, without doubt in my mind the best serious TV i've seen by a mile. The characters and how they are developed is absolutely ground breaking. Its funny, sad, gruesome, gripping, thought provoking, shocking and above all brilliant.
Onto James Gandolfini, as a character Tony Soparano was possibly the most complex, arrogant, greedy, sensitive, callous, sly, smart, calculated, cheating, alpha male who also happened to be a devoted father and at times thoughful husband. How Gandolfini pulled off such a character is a testiment to his acting skills.
Very sad that a man with so much talent and young family died at the age of 51. He's left his imprint though. RIP.

It's there now.....nice finish from Long, not heard much about him in comparison to the other four tbh.

I just think the asking price for McCarthy is going to be way out of our budget.

patto reacted to Hafnia in Martinez confirmed as new manager
Rangnick Took time out due to nervous exhaustion.... Not a criticism, but managing our club is for someone with a strong work ethic who can hack the pace and pressure.

He's just saying he hasn't got a specific target but he has (as we all do) names in mind....perfectly sensible thing to say.

patto reacted to StevO in If Moyes goes?
If Moyes goes... We'll move on. We will get another manager and we will continue as we have a decent squad.
Some people talk as if he is the only manager who can keep us going. I think that's pretty naive.
We have had some shit managers, but they also had some shit players, which hand in hand will be shit results.
If a decent manager comes in, and we can attract decent managers I'm sure, with our squad of decent players we will be fine.
I'd thank him for all of his hard work, the days out at wembley, the odd derby win, but Everton is bigger than David Moyes.

patto reacted to Hafnia in Nikica Jelavic
I'm just trying to think how Phil Neville would fit in with alonso, xavi, iniesta, fabregas, and silva.
That's of course if he gets picked ahead of busquets and mata.
The only chance he would have is if moyes was Spain manager. In fact I even reckon moyes would try and find a way to get him in there, stick on some fake tan, an alice band and say his name is Pepe Nevas the water carrier from Santander.
