My head is pounding and I literally cannot hear out of one of my ears  but I feel so proud right now. That's pride in the fans and the players. Proper puff out your chest pride. Not once did we sit down in the Lower Gwladys and we sang and sang for those players. Then those players responded in kind and every single player gave everything they had from the first minute until the last minute. I can't fault any one of them for how they played today. It was a team effort from the players and the fans, it really was. We got behind them and they gave back, which drove us to give them even more and it grew and grew. That's how it should be.
The first half was like a fucking whirlwind from us. We threw ourselves into everything and committed fully to it. It's that sort of energy that the fans can get behind in the stadium, we really do not ask for a lot from these players. I don't think anyone epitomised the first half showing than Anthony Gordon. What a player we've got in him - skillful and direct going forward, but he'll chase anything in defence and he'll put a foot in. I fucking love him.
Second half was, not so much a struggle, but there was definitely a lessening of our intensity. We saw the game out well though in the end, and that's all you can ask. Get the job done as comfortably as possible.
I want to pick out a couple of players for a special mention, and those two players are Alex Iwobi and Jonjoe Kenny. The pair of them have gotten a lot of stick by us fans but were both absolutely fantastic.
Iwobi was fucking everywhere - you'd have been forgiven for thinking there may have been three of him on the pitch. He perhaps could have been more direct at times but his work rate was phenomenal and he was involved all over the pitch.
JJK was playing as a bloody left-back and you never would have known he was out of position really. Defensively sound and got forward when he could and linked up well with those around him. Up and down that touchline from start to finish and you could tell how much getting the win today was going to mean to him.
When we play like we did today it is so easy to love this football club. Do you know what? It's easy to love our manager as well. He speaks so well about this club - talking us up, praising the fans and players as often as possible, celebrating the goals like they matter (because they fucking do!), getting involved with the crowd during games. He understands that relationships need to be built and he's going the right way about it. I know it's early days but if we do stay up I am, again, cautiously optimistic about what next season could bring.
    Come. On. You. Fucking. Blues!

That first half is perhaps the best I've seen Everton play in a long, long time. What a difference great coaching makes: set piece success, a definite game plan, well organized, bags of confidence, and bringing out the best in peripheral players. Both of the first goals were the result of aggressively winning back the ball. Richarlison winning the corner for the second was particularly impressive.
And while it wasn't as exciting to watch, what brilliant game management in the second half. No team could keep up the pace of the first 45 minutes, but we never once looked threatened. Benitez and Lampard: night and day. The owner may have bailed us out just in time. We wouldn't have won this game with the old guard but would have sat back and let Leeds play.
I've been very very critical of Rondon, but what a goal that would have been if the Leeds keeper hadn't saved so well.

Fantastic game and result, the last Saturdays have been enjoyable at Goodison. Probably the best first half of football I’ve seen in years, can’t fault one player fir their performance today. The crowd in the first half were immense, players who recently looked shot of all confidence played calm and composed, getting behind them really helped our game.

Frank is loving the fans. He just told his assistant “pisses all over Chelsea this….proper fans and a proper club”

Feels strange to say but Iwobi has been absolutely immense so far. And Gordon and VDB even better.

Look at his face after scoring. He's angry, determined. Love to see it
On second viewing, looked like he was about to cry. Means so much to him this

Lampard has Iwobi looking like a premier league football so he is surely in for a shout for manager of the year already

In the first half I felt like we at least tried to do what we did on Saturday, in that we tried to play those triangles but nerves got the better of us and we over hit and under hit so many passes. It just snowballed from there and our confidence was in the toilet, you could see it in everything we did. That gave Newcastle encouragement and their confidence just grew and grew, and they were much the better side.
Second half we completely shit the bed and were so passive it was untrue. They were petrified to do anything. On Saturday the shackles were off and they played positive football and took risks, but when the pressure was on tonight and points were up for grabs the fear factor completely took over. It’s not good enough and Lampard needs to find a way of getting them to snap out of it because we need points, not a cup run.

Rafa had a pre-season, and part of two windows to change things and the football was getting worse not better.
Lampard has had a few days with the players and been able to sign two players.
The players won at the weekend 4-1. This week they were easily beaten. Lets just give it some time and see how we are 6 months from now.
Today went wrong. Lets see if Lampard can out that right ahead of the weekend before writing too much off.

Newcastle away was always going to be a tough game, especially considering the buzz around that place at the moment. I'll be panicking if we're shite at home to Leeds in the next game.
Of course, Lampard can't be criticised too much at the moment but the players can as they've been here for years - as a group we're just a bit shit and I'm hoping that should we stay up, Frank can build a team that actually gels and does well.

Lets just give Lampard more than a few with the group before the Rafa comparisons start coming into play.

I would say that even though Deli hasn’t had his best debut, he is on a different level to most of our team.
Van Der Beek, actually looks class.

In the last five minutes of this game it has been those two trying to keep things moving.

As an old non professional footballer…. I think I am noticing that Saint Maxim is a danger.
I don't know, I'm no expert… but I’m thinking I would be doing something about it.

If Holgate can keep up the form he showed on the weekend, I think a partnership with he and Yerald could work well until Godfrey is back

I feel the pain as well, he is really going to be missed whether as a starter or coming off the bench.
