This game is going to be end to end. A giant mess and a heart attack for both sets of fans.

Our biggest issue is game management. We don't know how to shut teams down any more. Getting McCarthy back and moving Cleverley to the left for this one would be best, I think.

I realize this is an unpopular opinion. But, I'd rather win through playing a controlled game than lose/draw playing swashbuckling stuff. McCarthy can do the dirty work and has the legs to run all game. Barry is responsible with the ball at his feet. And Cleverley can do a bit of everything, but most importantly he can keep the ball ticking over and link with Baines. I think part of Barkley's issue (beyond being half asleep) is that Kone has been wading into his position too much. Kone has been great (for 60 minutes) and has both held the ball up well and made some excellent passes. But, he leaves us unbalanced. It's time we try something new. Cleverley and Baines linking up a la Bainaar would provide an excellent complement to our dangerous counter-attacking speed and less controlled play on the right.

This is the first game where Kone has looked poor in the first half. He's tired... get Mirallas on at half.

I wanted Mirallas on for him 10 minutes into the second half against Bournemouth. He'd been brilliant in the first half, definitely one of our best players, but when he went he really went off the cliff. Not blaming him at all, I put the blame firmly on Martinez for it. I still can't believe he left him out there to "die".

I disagree on Kone. Kone's hold up and link-up play have been some of the best we've seen in a couple years from any attacker. Today was no different until about 60 minutes, when the rest of the team stopped making runs and getting into space, and he let a couple balls go. By 70 minutes, he was clearly gassed and needed to be subbed.

At least there's Tuesday before we have to face a Palace side that just completely dismantled Newcastle.

Watch the first half and see that Kone was playing some good stuff. He was working hard defensively, winning balls, holding it up well, making good passes. He simply lost all energy and Martinez left him out there to die.

This is also why you need to rotate your squad. Players looked exhausted; no one had any mind for possession let alone creativity. That second half was the worst half of football I've seen in 7 years as an Everton fan.

Bournemouth wanted it far more. Even Distin looked like he could run laps around every Everton player in the second half. What a miserable fucking game.

Had the Everton supporters not charged the pitch, the whistle would have been blown and 3-2 Everton.

I just want to win, all the time. That's all.

So have City, United, Arsenal. We've never won it, that's the first reason. Second, European football. Third, winning something might lead to a winning mentality, giving the players a taste of success.

I understand where you're coming from, but I want us to win everything. All the time. That starts with the next match, so put your strongest out and go to win. It's that simple for me

That was simulation. Hand on the shirt but barely caught him... not enough to send him flying.

Agree with the overhead kick assessment, but he had a few other questionable challenges as well. Barkley was a bit unlucky to get that yellow in the first place, as Can doing what most professionals do and giving up the ball when Barkley tried to grab it from would have ended the confrontation then and there. Barkley didn't do much wrong there in my mind; you see players grabbing for the ball to speed up play multiple times a game.

Doubt we'll see Coleman or Stones risk reinjury before the stretch coming. This one has a Browning, Jags, Mori, Galloway back line written all over it, so we definitely need the pace on both wings (Lennon and Deulofeu) to add some creativity (no discredit to the work that Galloway has been doing getting forward, but he's still no Bainsey).

Kinda disagree that Begovic isn't much of a downgrade. Courtois is world class and should be in the top 3 keepers in the world each year throughout his career. Begovic is arguably a barely above average premier league starter.

I saw that about Mori. Crossing my fingers that it seems that bit is more speculative as Martinez didn't out and out say anything about him getting game time against Chelsea. Still though, Galloway dealing with Chelsea's attack doesn't inspire me much more.

Am I the only one who thought it was a harsh red card and a mark of how the game is turning out now?
He gets cut down by the type of tackle that could break a leg....and throws a piece of chewing gum in the players general direction.......and he gets the red card.

I think anything less than 6th in the league will be a massive disappointment given our lack of spending but I expect a disappointment. Should reach a cup final and lose and I see a 9th place finish behind the usual suspects + Swansea and Palace.

I could give a fuck whether he put in a request at all or not. The important thing is that in response to a reporter's question, "That sounds like a definitive he's not going?" Martinez responded, "Absolutely." That's all that matters. Stones is not leaving this window and nothing else should matter.

P.S. Can't find a way to link but the audio is on the official app for anyone to hear.
