You do realise that Arsenal, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester City, Newcastle, Sheffield United, Spurs and Watford haven't made signings either? Ironically, we are one of the teams that have signed a player so far this summer so I'm confused as to how with all of this information at hand predictions are being made about the window being ''last minute'' and criticisms of Brands are coming to the front for not acting fast enough in the market.
No South Americans will be signed as the Copa America is currently underway. It is incredibly unlikely that national teams will allow players to skip training to discuss contracts and transfer fees with domestic clubs which is fully understandable. We've also had the Nations League taking place recently so anyone taking part in that (basically the best players from the top leagues of England, Portugal and the Netherlands) will now be on holiday and thus not available for negotiation. As an example, look at Matthijs De Ligt who is absolutely nailed on to leave Ajax this summer but as of today hasn't moved anywhere.
If the rumours are true, André Gomes is set to sign within the next few days which will take our signings up to two for the summer - not bad when you consider all of the above. If we are sitting with just two signings come August then by all means throw some criticism at Brands, Moshiri and the rest but at the moment I think it's borderline bonkers to be panicking about our summer business. Take a deep breath!

I just hope we get shut permanently and it doesn’t become a loan deal instead.

It’ll be interesting to see how he performs playing every week. Good luck to him, I think there’s a player there myself.

I though that Stones dropped Barkley right in it. Passed to him when he was on edge of the box facing goal and a man on his back, Stones was responsible for all 3 goals IMO, shocking night from him. The whole team needs to learn when to play out from the back and when to lump it.

Looking at Twitter we are rumoured with a couple of French midfielders - one named sangare
Wonder why PSG want gana? Surely they have highly knowledgeable scouts who could see what Peteo sees..... that's unless what Peteo sees is a load of nonsense?

I really hope tranmere get used for some under 23s this season. In league one would be a good starting place for some of these lads and help tranmere

Gutted to be honest, I think he has a lot of offer the other lads in the team.

We wouldn’t ever have kept Coleman with some of you... his loan to Blackpool was essential for him, Kenny could benefit from the same. Calls to say he’s not good enough are unfounded and ludicrous.

Decent player, but we should only consider a pay as you play deal given his injury record.

Shrewd bit of business I think,  couple of seasons prem experience, albeit with a shit defence in front of him, 30 and  an international, bit like getting Heaton on a free, probably worth 10-15m on a transfer

I see this as in upgrade on Stek, younger, and reasonably decent keeper as a back up and competition to ensure Pickford stops the brain farts, as long as his wages aren't stupidly high I'd go for it, rather we spent our money elsewhere on the field

Just think you would have got the same numbers if we had a vote on whether Kevin Sheedy had a left foot or not (Pete would still vote no)

Is this the team that play at Goodison Park and didn't concede a goal there after February?

Yet even with these problems, 3 of them get to Euro finals.
I get what your saying, we’re such a lucky team that teams only ever have problems on and off field when playing us.
I mean it would be daft to say that our set up limits these teams and stops them playing.
Yet when were beaten, it’s the opposite isn’t it PeteO, it’s because we were at full strength but the other team just tried harder.
Lets be straight here. You see the team in a different way than the majority, and that’s fine. Your down on the team and club at the moment and look for negatives.
Im a pretty positive guy and will always look for the positives. You can see in my posts I’m a glass half full type.
What we need to accept, mainly you 😉 is that yours, or mine, or any others opinions are just that PeteO, opinions. Your trying your best to prove them as facts, while ignoring actual facts.
The most glaring example is this not creating chances comment you keep going on about. Yet in one match we created more chances than Sam did in his whole tenure. That wasn’t something is fans made up, but a factual stat put out by the ssp team. And this is where I struggle to understand where your coming from sometimes.

I have seen a better player in the last half of this season probably because he’s put more in as he said he would to try and get his move, but hey what can you do I still feel justified in my critique of him in the past and I still think he could do a lot better when in possession of the ball but having him play more forward of Gomes lately has helped in to make less mistakes in his positioning.
You may have noticed I haven’t been running him down for a while now because I’ve had no reason to, it’s never been personal for me even though it’s been portrayed by others that way.

You won't know what this lad brings to the team till you play tosun or Richarlison as a striker....
In all my lukaku rants my biggest issues of him were that he can't do the unappreciated stuff which is what DCL does in abundance.  Drop deep, hold the ball, win it, press, pass..... physically engage the defenders.
It offers the attacking midfielders a platform to get forward.
Take DCLs attributes out the team and watch the midfield fold.....
However.... if there is a hybrid striker who can give 15 goals and what DCL does I would pay £50m now...... the fact is there aren't many who do what he does...... if he develops his finishing you are talking about a player who all the best teams will be after.... I'm not talking aguero levels of finishing.... I'm talking vardy or firminho levels.

Much better performances from Jordan over the last few weeks, apart from his kicking on Friday against Burnley. Wonder how much noise the press would have made if it had been Jordan who made the errors and not Heaton?
Hope he has a quiet summer and comes back more balanced (grown up I guess )

You can joke, but we've worn Bukta in the past...
"Everton had tended get their kit, sometimes Bukta-made, supplied via Jack Sharp Sports until Umbro came on the scene just in time for the championship success of 1962/63."
....and Umbro's founder worked for them before setting up with his "bro" (clever eh?)...
"With its links to the textiles trade, the Manchester region already dominated the fledgling sportswear industry through Stockport's Messrs Bucks. It was whilst working as a travelling salesman for the company, eventually better known as Bukta, that Harold had an insight into the clothing and sports supplies business. In 1922 he started his own cottage industry out of a cupboard at the Bulls Head, importing clothing items from Manchester for resale to neighbours, this trade soon focussed on sports supplies for the moneyed Cheshire-set.
By 1924, 22 year-old Harold took the plunge and, with brother Wallace, formed Humphreys Brothers Ltd. (abbreviated to Umbro) on Green Lane in Wilmslow."

This thread is such a joke now, we have one of the best midfielders in the country at doing what he does and yet rather than appreciate what we’ve got Pinky and Perky are constantly trying to pick holes in his game
Its not his job to score goals or to be a creative force, that what the likes of Gylfi, Bernard and Richarlison are in the side for
Gana is absolutely crucial to the pressing game that Silva wants to deploy, he is higher up the pitch because Silva wants us to press higher up the pitch , it doesn’t mean he should suddenly have the goals and assists stats of a number 10
Gana’s form has been nothing short of fantastic lately but Pinky and Perky are in such a constant state of denial that even if he was top scorer for us next season and had 29 assists they would be saying he was still shit because he hasn’t saved any penalties

I'll buck the trend here and agree with you Pete, we took our foot off the gas after the 2nd goal. There was a period in the 2nd half where we couldn't put two passes together and we looked nervy, at 2 up against a side who only had an aerial threat it looked like we were back in January, but got back on our game for the last 20 mins or so.

2 goals up and we’ve taken the foot off the gas.  They have shown they can get the ball in the net, we need a third to close the game off , some lovely stuff being played but still need that clinical edge
