If you have actual outlets up front, the midfield won't always play backwards because they'll have an attacking option. We just don't have that outlet and that's putting the back 6 under constant pressure. 1 striker and a creative attacking midfielder instantly transforms the whole dynamic of the team. The world Cup break might actually have done us a massive favour as its a lot less games to struggle through and buys time to get those 2 players in beginning of January.

This for me is about right, we’ve got a defence that has proven it’s pretty good, but they currently know that as soon as the ball goes forward it’s going to come back to them with interest as we’re so toothless up front, it’s no wonder they have started to drop deeper and deeper.

Yeah, he was outstanding on Tuesday…….well he didn’t injure himself as far as we know.

The last thing we need is another manager trying to sort the shit show that is on the club.

I think we're actually incredibly fortunate for the WC break happening now. Lots of sides will be frustrated as it halts their momentum. We need a full reset.

We can't keep changing managers. We just can't. Not unless it's so obvious he's the problem. I think he's far from the root cause of the problem though.

I do think he is building a stronger team. But it is going to take time.
I dont think any of us expected a sudden change in results, but I DO think we have raised our own expectations due to a little more optimism….. which is down to a renewed belief that things will change.

A lot of that is due to Lampard for me.

Tbh, it’ll piss me off even seeing Mina take (wasting) a spot on the bench.

It will be a personal disappointment for Dom not to go, but I think in the long run it will be better for him, he still needs time to regain his full fitness, and confidence.

I understand why Maupay had to come on today because of the injury, what I don't understand is why we bought such a dismally awful player. Let's hope and pray that we have the money to line up a decent striker in the January window, if not we have serious problems in front of us.

We've had 2-3 good chances, we lack clinical finishing unfortunately.

It's also worth pointing out that yesterday was the first time Fulham have failed to score a goal at home this season.
We don't want to be seeing a point away at Fulham as a good result, of course we don't, and hopefully over the next few years we wouldn't. But in the here and now it was a good point and that's just the reality of it.

The way I look at it is that last season we'd start an away game well, not get the first goal and then concede. We'd then completely fall apart and lose comfortably.
Yesterday we started well, didn't the goal but then didn't fall apart. Confidence dipped, which is what we witnessed last season in this situation. But what we didn't see that we did last season is that the defence didn't go to pieces under pressure, the defence also remained calm on the ball and weren't just looking to lump the ball anywhere. The midfield remained committed to being available for the ball.
We clearly have an issue away from home but Lampard has acknowledged it and has said we're working on it, and I do think there's evidence to show that.

We were shit, but still came away with a point. I’ll take that. On to next week.

I haven't bothered to read through this thread because I know people will be going way overboard with the negativity.
I thought we played well in the first half and caused Fulham plenty of problems. We could have easily been ahead at the break, there was plenty of things to feel positive about.
Second half I'm as disappointed as anyone that we didn't kick on. I'm sure Lampard is too because the game was there for us, it really was. I think (subconsciously maybe) that us not getting ahead in the game meant that we felt more inclined to to sit in and hold on to what we had, rather than to continue to play in a positive manner.
I don't think we necessarily played badly in the second half, we just played without any tempo and in too much of a negative way. But the positive to take from it is that when faced under that sort of pressure last season we fold and lose it. instead, tonight we showed solidity and took a point from the game.
We're on a journey from utter shite, it was never going to be a huge leap this season. Incremental steps is what it was going to be and I'm going to be patient because I can see the progress we're making.

We’ve got a solid foundation to build from now though, which is a massive positive. We just need to find or add that extra creative spark and we will have a very solid top 10 team in my opinion.

Gray was significantly more involved than Gordon. Not saying Gray played well by any means, but Gordon was nonexistent

Gray and Myko are actually working as a pair today. Nothing has come off for them yet but it’s good to see and it’s working.

Gana tries to do way too much with the ball against 2-3 defenders.
