Important to remember that his fitness may not be fully there (looked gassed at the end) and more important to remember he was at one place for quite a while. It will take time to learn his teammates and that will allow him to play faster. He’s a solid premier league striker that provides some things DCL doesn’t. I think he will prove to be better cover than what we’ve had in a long time.

This 100%. Sort the frontline out (wouldn't be surprised to see a 'hang the daft prices' January purchase of a striker) and we'll have balance and depth across the pitch.
This season will be fraught but enjoyable.
    Frank is the man.

Given the next window isn’t that many games away I think it makes sense to find the player and the deal you want. We’ve had too many costly misses lately.

Obviously some quality there. Just wasn’t the same after his injury. Fine margins with the pace and physicality of the Premier League.

Prob smart not to make a lateral move-ish anyhow. With a strong season he might be able to get Top 6 offers.

Good interview from him, while they always say similar things it's clear he enjoyed his time at Everton and is happy to come back.
I know amongst the 4k+ posts on here he got slated a fair bit as "not being a good footballer"  and just charging around etc but whilst he had his limitations he did a tremendous amount of work that the rest of the team would appreciate and will help to give the defence that final bit of solidity that it's been missing.  It should also help us improve our possession, he did a great job at not only winning the ball back but finding a player once he'd done it.  With Onana and Iwobi looking good together in the middle he can hopefully bring them quickly into the game and allow them to take the ball forward.
With his attitude and experience, he will also be beneficial for the younger players like Garner and Onana (fellow Senegalese).

Very hopeful on this one. Hopefully he has the energy to be a heat seeking missile for a couple years and mentor the young midfielders.

"There is no better feeling than coming back home, seeing some brothers here.
"I am very happy to be here, to help, to work hard and to give my soul for this team. I am in my home. I feel like home and I know everybody here. Seeing this team, following this team every week and how they play, I cannot feel in a better place than Everton so that is why I chose to come back here.
"There is a great atmosphere around the stadium and people around here are like a family. Even when I went to Paris I kept in contact with some players here and continued to support for the team.
"For me it is special and I said to the manager if I left PSG it will be for one team and that is Everton."

A bench of Doucoure, Garner most likely,Davies is also much better.

He wants us to be able to play 523, 433 and maybe even 442. We need to be adaptable to different situations.

He wants high press. Maupay, DCL, Gordon, McNeil, Gray, Iwobi and Gana are all very capable of this.

I’m sure he would like more possession too. Iwobi, Onana, Garner, Patterson, McNeil, DCL and Maupay can hopefully do a bit of this too.

Expect high tempo and high work rate as the team settles. Then hopefully more football as the team grows.

One way or another, Frank and Kevin definitely have a plan they are working towards.

In terms of approx net spend looks like we've done pretty well:
    IN:
    60M Richie
    SPEND:
    8M Gana*
    9M Garner*
    32M Onana
    15M Maupay
    20M McNeil
FREE - Tark, Coady and Vinagre
    *projected transfers.
I've approximated some of the figures but that's around 20M net spend to significantly bolster the squad especially the jelly-like spine.
Wages could be a wash as despite adding 8-9 players we lost Tosun, Delph, Gylfi as well as Richie plus all the loans who may have had their wages picked up (Dele, Gbamin etc).
    (not talking FFP here)

For Chukuweze we kick that can down the road and pay that next year and use the Kean money to pay some of it.
shrewd business in terms of both prices paid and length of contracts for some.

let's hope we bought the right players and not like the window we bought Klassen, Sandro et al.

Can we still loan to the Championship after the epl window closes?
If we manage to get 2 more mids and another fwd, I'd hope we loan Warrington and Mills out.

If they aren’t it’s because he’s allowed the football people to make these decisions. That should have always been the case but it’s still learning from one’s mistakes which should be acknowledged.

Yea he handled it fine. I do think, objectively, it’s best he stays and really establishes himself. Playing 10 min at a time couldn’t have been great for his development. He’s a year or two away, if he progresses, from being in the starting lineup regularly for a top side.
