I thought about the formation you set out but the trouble is Digne has only played 20 minutes less football than Kean but had done much more running up and down the wings as we focus playing down that left hand side. I think Keane should start this one and Digne can have a rest instead. Maybe an option is to play Kenny in place of Keane and put Coleman in RB or visa versa?

Golden boot realistic for Dom this year?!

Absolutely right.....we would lose this type of game time after time over past 3-5 seasons

BIG WIN.  last year we would have played that sloppy we would have lost.  we won this time.  once we actually click we will be lethal.  very happy with the result.

Awful cameo from Iwobi. Think he’s miss placed every pass he attempted

I'd be angry if we had that given against us!! This area does need reviewing by the rule makers

Not sure we will tweak anything or should from the league's two starting XIs to date - if we did tweak though I'd be tempted to bring Bernard in for Gomes and play him in the middle as the advanced MF.
This will be a tough game as we have both started very well and I dont think we have done too well in recent travels to Selhurst Park (different team and ethos now though so whether thats relevant I dont know).
The battle on the wings for both teams is key to this game - Whoever's wide midfielders overcome the oppositions full backs will win this one

Disagree, I think the club bought him thinking he would hit the ground running and be a real Rom replacement. The money we paid is ALOT for a potential only player.
I was watching him Weds thinking I dont know what style of forward he is. I've settled on a fox in the box. He doesn't seem to be intelligent to make penetrating runs, nor pacey to burst through defensive lines running onto the ball. Hes not a hold up the ball striker and he not a silky footed trickster. I'm a bit lost as to what striker he is... seems to just exist in the penalty area (when hes not running around like a headless chicken between centre circle and the D).

Out of necessity and with a team and club that was a shambles. I don’t want to see a local lad leave, I think he can do a job. But a loan would really give him an opportunity to experience life elsewhere which might bring the best out of him and he comes back much improved or show (as I imagine) that he’s not going make it here. Either way it’s wins all round.

Because there’s a break clause in the loan deal in January. So we can either bring him back here or loan him to another club, but the rules state you can only play for two clubs in a season. So if he plays for us now he couldn’t then go elsewhere in January if we find him a better loan club or it just doesn’t work at Reading.

I can't slag him off - Not that we will know, but who else was waiting in the wings to pick up the club from Johnson. Kenwright was probably not the right man to (or have the right skill set) pick this up but I dont recall any other saviours from these days. Kenwright may have been too much of a fan of the club, but did what he could within his means - the club missed the boat of investment pre-Premier League and was always on catch-up. The European ban on English clubs had a massive impact on the advancement and money of our club in the late 80s.

I don’t see him as a starter now. I wouldn’t put a price on him either, player trades are the only option. If we got rid of a few players and he came in, then it’s palatable. But for this season we don’t need him, so I’d rather see him, if at all, next season.

Turn the commentators off and it wouldn’t have been his fault.
Mina’s fault for the first goal without a doubt. He took his shot behind Mina as well, by the time Pickford saw it, it was already past Mina. Superman couldn’t have moved fast enough to react.
Second was just a great effort.

Cisk reacted to Bailey in Salford City (cup) Wednesday 16/9/20
It was a game where I always thought we were comfortable but at the same time it was frustrating in that middle part of the match. First half we took our foot off the gas after a lively start and became too negative and then second half the effort was there but the application wasn't until that second goal went in and then we really cruised home.
Virginia had nothing to do, and weirdly he probably ends up a little disappointed that he didn't have to make a save and impress the boss!
All centre backs were very solid. A couple of moments second half where Keane and Digne went walkies as Digne forgot he was playing centre back but that is being extremely picky.
Kenny is probably disappointed he didn't see more of the ball. He probably hopes that he gets to play with someone else in front of him next time.
Nkounkou looks like a star in the making. Strong, quick, great feet and great timing of the pass. The timing and weight of the ball to Gordon for the 2nd shouldn't be underestimated because plenty others get that wrong. If Walcott had bust a gut he could have had an assist too. Really impressed.
In midfield I though Gylfi was putting on an exhibition. His passing was quick and crisp and defensively he was spot on. In the first half he was deeper and wasn't expected to do anything exciting but second half when he switched with Davies, he created several chances, scored one and hit the post. My Motm.
Bernard was also excellent throughout. Great energy, some sloppiness here and there but on the whole he was another to keep us ticking over and throwing in a bit of quality here and there. Unlucky not to score too.
Davies definitely had his moments and he looked miles better when he turned and got his head up. Quality is thr issue with him and it showed along with his lack of physicality.
Out wide, I'm not going to waste too much time on Walcott. He was shite and shouldn't be on the bench.
Gordon started lively enough, went through a period of almost a lack of belief and then as soon as he slipped that ball to Siggy, which was probably the hardest ball he had to play all game, he then went up another gear and finished with a real flourish. He needed to because it was clear that he could from the first 10-15 minutes and credit to him for getting there in the end whereas the twat on the other wing was completely disinterested.
Kean to his credit played very well in the second half. Yes he should have scored the header but his contribution to the team was loads better and credit to whoever it was who told him to sort himself out at half time. He stopped over-playing and he did the simple things well.
A couple of mentions should go to the management team as well. Sorting out Keans head for one and also for the switching of Davies and Siggy. Not to mention our 2nd set piece goal of the season.
    On to the next one!
