He's always been a good defender, just offers nothing going forward. The calls that he's absolutely shite are weird.
No way should Young be ahead of him at LB, who offers nothing going forward, can't defend either and is making my blood pressure rise with his passes to the opposition goalkeeper from set-pieces.

As angry as I am about yesterday, this is my thinking also.
I didn't expect to win yesterday at all, but the way we lost it is hard to take. But a lot of yesterday isn't on Dyche in my opinion. No way did he send them out there and tell them not to press whatsoever, no way did he tell them not to pass to a blue shirt, no way did he tell them not to move.
Not playing with two strikers towards the end of the game is on him. Personally, I had no problem with Beto going off because I thought he'd offered nothing with limited scraps we gave him. However, I would have brought Chermiti on at the same time as DCL and just told him to go and cause chaos. It could have meant that we went on to lose 3-0 instead but it's the same amount of points for that as losing 1-0, but it could have meant we scored and got a point instead. It's the risk averseness that I don't like about him.

The big issue with these park the bus tactics is that it’s all wasted if they score even one. We’ve not been very bad defensively but it just takes one goal and it’s blown. Have we had even one chance.

May as well have a go now.

The difference in passing skills is enormous.  As is the alertness factor.  Arsenal play and think crisply.  We do neither.

Why in the world are we continuing to let the opposition take free short corners? Killed us two matches in a row.
 
Dyche has to change it now. Had no attacking plan from the start. Can't get any worse. 

When Michael Keane is a favourite then it’s a big red flag for me 

Played pretty well overall. 
Thought we made the right choices, just poor execution at times. Danjuma poor touch when sent thru etc. 
But I don't really mind things not working as long as we keep trying to do the right things, and today I thought we did for the most part. 
Beto was exceptional but faded towards the end (understandable) and Pickfords save was incredible!

I still question Dyche reluctance to make changes. More for fresh legs than anything else. Maybe when the injuries are back he might be more willing? I just thought for the last 10 mins Chermitti would have got a run around as Beto was knackered.

I think we need to mention Branthwaite again. Has been solid today. I would go as far as saying he feels like the senior defender in there.

That's skewed by the fact that he started last season like a train and very quickly amassed more than 108 votes virtually before anyone else got off the mark. 
Over the twenty-four games after his purple patch he added only another twelve.
Previous season he came in behind Gray, Gordon and Pickford.

Reminder, Iwobi only became our most creative player after we lost Richarlison, Digne, Siggurdsson and James. (Bernard, Walcott, Gomes and Baines can go into that list too)
Did he improve or did the standard around him drop? 
 
If we can get him out of the door for £20m+ we are doing well. If we can find a replacement then even better!

Palhina deal off so Fulham wont want Iwobi. 

He is comfortably our most creative player over the past 2 seasons and I think if he had movement in from of him his stats would be even better

I know there are still a few hours left for Thelwell to pull a rabbit out of the hat but I just don’t think this squad is brimming with creativity hence why I think he will be missed

I think given our financial position - at this very moment in time every £1M seem to help. If the £7m is able to be invested in to the bona fida first 15-18 players and make the group who take to the pitch stronger, then I don't mind the sale in these sorts of circumstances.
We also appear to have put our striker progression planning in to Chermiti - and as we stand he physically has the edge over Cannon. 
We seem to have a plan - Everton will play with a big physical No.9 and wingers who get crosses in to the box.  I don't have a problem with is, and does at least show a bit of joined up thinking. Invest money on young big physical strikers and some decent winger and crosses of the ball. but this may come at the expense of letting others go, especially when money is tight.
 

Dyche is going to have a real problem on his hands concerning who he starts up front at the weekend: Beto, or not Beto, that is the question.

Yes I was just being slightly pedantic. You said no-one wants them, whereas the truth is plenty of clubs want them, they just don't want to pay for them. Slight difference, neither helps us of course.

No one wants to pay for them. They all ultimately end up going on to play for other clubs.

Yes but if we are going to comment on them being shit then we have to comment on the positives. Sure it what you expect, but with so many under whleming it is refreshing to have someone perform as they should and his play (not just goal) has changed the way we play.
