Honestly, I'd rather plan for the future with someone like Harry Souttar - a younger player who deserves to step up to the Premier League.

For me, the biggest change needs to come at the back. We need better defenders!
Coleman, Keane, Holgate can't be first choice.
I honestly think it's detrimental to the rest of the team knowing how likely we are to fuck up at the back. Get that back wall built strong n reliable and I think that alone will make a big difference to how we play. It especially enables more freedom going forward.

The big difference for me is the atmosphere both both from the crowd and what we are seeing from the players under Frank.  I believe there have been some improvements in the game play, we are starting to look better defensively and turning fast counter attacks which was reminiscent of the start of Rafa's season but disappeared after those early weeks.
Frank is showing a passion for the club that comes across very well to fans and players and a great fighting spirit to stick up for them (ie not being scared to highlight unjust decisions!)
He may not have been the perfect choice and with his limited experience especially at the bottom end of the table he was a risk but I would 100% want to see him backed in the new season (wherever we are) to work improving the team and performances with the limited budget that we get.
He's brought in a good team of staff, has a real desire to win and see us doing better and I think is smart enough to learn from the mistakes that he makes.  He won't let players get away with lazy performances and lack of effort but equally wouldn't shut someone out over a difference of opinion (...Rafa).
This is where the fans have to take some responsibility as continually driving managers out of the club does not help matters and whilst things can be difficult at times I think we need to get behind the manager more some times rather than calling for their head after a few rough games and doing our easy job of arm chair/stands/keyboard management.

With it actually sounding very much like Martinez could actually be a real possibility, this is really concerning me. A bit of calm is needed.
Announce Ferguson for the Villa game as interim manager and just take if from there. He did well last time he was interim, so why not go again with him. A good set of 4-5games coming up for him to have a stab at and get some momentum and confidence. Game that should be won with a team that go out with some energy and passion.  I was up for Benitez having these winnable games to turn things around so why no give them to Big Dunc to show what he can bring to the table. If he does OK - let him take the team to the end of the season.
Ryan Mason did OK at Spurs.

This, this is part of the issue. He could have just said to the fans, but no, he even has to talk with division on the way out and highlight “those fans who have supported us”. Fuck right off Rafa!

Lampard was a shitshow, it only worked because of emotion and Chelsea acyally having a squad. Rooney would be the same I think but without the squad quality.
Duncan needs this until the end of the season because I think only rage will save us at this point. Then who knows after the summer. I'd love Martinez back but he was another who made excuses and didn't change, and he is also a smart guy who might well be too aware of the quagmire he would walk back until. He's probably too nice to hold a grudge with the way he was treated but I wouldn't blame him if he did to be honest.
So empty when it comes to Everton nowadays, they have drained me to the point that I want to say I don't care, never again. But I do, which is why I've always called them an addiction and recently that analogy has never been more true.

Villa have now agreed a £25m fee for him.
Like I've said, it's a brilliant deal for us financially and it makes sense to sell him but I'm not going to pretend we're not losing a quality player when we have too few of them as it is.

    Opinions from Harry Redknapp.
Sometimes club owners take a gamble - that was the case with Arsenal way back (with Wenger) and for somebody like Ange Postecoglou to get an opportunity at a good European club, whether in England or elsewhere, you just need that leap of faith,” said Redknapp.
When you win a title in Japan you’re going to get noticed, especially with a club that’s part of the City Football Group (owners of Manchester City).
The Socceroos breezed past Redknapp’s men 5-1 in a one-sided FIFA World Cup qualifier, leaving the quick-witted and convivial 72-year-old impressed with Postecoglou’s free-wheeling ideology.
“They were far too good for us and while you’d expect a home team to attack, I liked the way they approached the game,” he recalled.
“They played out from the back, the passing was slick and they really took the game to us.
“I liked what I saw and he’s obviously taken that with him to Japan and found a winning formula there, playing the way he wants to and leading a team that scores a lot of goals (a J1 high of 68 this season).
“Why couldn’t he come to a place like England, if that’s what he wants to do, and do well at a high level?”

I saw nothing wrong with the way Silva set the team up at the weekend. They were fighting for the ball, bar one stupid mistake we gave them nothing.
We were growing into the game and Davies and Gomes were starting to drive us forward when the injury happened.
The players, whilst still playing for the manager, are clearly nervous. They are soft and the position in the table and the performances are getting to them. Managers can't shield players from that these days as it's everywhere they look. He needs results and he needs them quickly but based on what I saw at the weekend I would expect that.

I agree he isn't close to a top four. Also agree he should have continued with Holgate there.
i just don't think he is the reason we are doing so badly. And I don't agree that he is a bad championship player like many have said.
hes a stop gap for us, and he is doing his job.

jaymz_555 reacted to London Blue in Should we sack our manager?
I was at the game today is one of my all to rare visits back to Goodison. The atmosphere was nervous from the start, but picked up over the first 15 minutes when we played well. We created chances, looked threatening and should have been 2 - 0 up. To that extent we were unlucky. If we had scored then we would have won by a lot, but we did not, and lost, such is the fickle nature football.
Then we got caught on the counter, conceded a goal and never looked like equalizing, let alone taking the lead. We were slow and unsure in possession and reverted to the "Martinez Shuffle" passing it in front of Burnley's team. Players bunched together, didn't stretch the opposition, and to be honest the Burnley keeper could have taken the second half off.
I went into the match a Koeman supporter, wanting to give him time, till Christmas at least to turn it around, I left very unsure. Half of me thinks we are just a couple of players clicking to turn it around and kick on.
The other half sees a team that is devoid and confidence when things don't go well. We look so brittle, Schneiderlin was looking for people to pass to and there was almost no movement in front of him, so we passed back or to the side. We had Vlasic on the pitch who looks like a player that can open up defenses, but after we went behind we hardly used him.
Koeman played Schneiderlin and Gana together again, which is pointless as they both end up occupying the same space, trying to do the same thing. Schneiderlin forces Gana further forward, and into becoming a more creative player which he clearly is not. He should have played Davies or Siggy there. Koeman knows this as he changes it at half time every match - so why repeat the same fucking mistake at the start of every match?
Coco, seriously is so shit I should play right back, and I am awful.
Williams, despite me saying he is a 7/10 player, so far this season (bar a couple of games) has been a 5/10 player. There was a point halfway through the second half where he passed the ball (and I use the word pass in the loosest possible sense)  straight out for a goal kick, and he put his head in his shirt and it never came out. He has no confidence.
In Pickford, Kenny, Holgate and Keane we have 4 players who are going to be the core of our defense for years to come, so why not play them now as we have no better alternatives, and every game they will get better.
I don't blame him for Klasseen for Sandro and I still believe they will come good once they have adapted to the premier league. I think Siggy looks very good when played behind the striker where his clever passes and runs are effective. His movement off the ball is very good.
I do blame him for not playing Lookman and / or Vlasic to give us the width we have been crying out for, we look so much more dangerous when we have pace and width to stretch defenses.
As it stands I give Koeman 3 more games to turn it around, if he can't then he has to go. If we wait till Christmas and it has not been turned around then our season will effectively be over. Sorry to say but I think the players are starting to lose faith in him and so maybe is Moshiri.......

    Exactly.

It doesnt make financial sense but he could be a very good buy.

Our creativity hasnt been great but Jela doesnt create anything for himself of his team mates and whilst Vic can do both, I just dont think he is good enough to be the number 1 striker. Put it this way both Vic & Kone will probably be valued at the same amount and whilst Vic is younger I dont see him improving upon what he did last year and he simply isnt as good as Kone.

Anyway back to Dyer, Id rather spend 2mil on Redmond than 5mil on him.

Can't we just clone Moyes like Dolly the sheep and have 11 more years of wondering when he will evolve into a manager who is more tactically astute?

Other than that:- Laudrup and Martinez imediately spring to mind.
