I’d rather take a punt on 3-4 of these emerging talents than pay 14m for an untested Russian league striker.

Put in simple terms - we don’t really NEED a striker currently as we have 3 potentially top, top young strikers in Dom, Richarlison and Kean but if a more experienced striker who already knows the league and is better than what we have currently in other positions (left mid) at a relatively low fee then it’s a no brainier to me.

He has prodimantly played as the second striker, linking the midfield to attack whilst Wilson has been leading the line or at least he has when I have watched.
He has played some games from the left, like he did against us but against us he played more like a winger than a between the lines player. He must have been one of the most advanced players on the pitch.
If I was going to bring him to Everton I would want him in the advanced positions. He defends like an attacker (ie crap) so you aren't going to get the best out of him if you stick him in one the wide roles we use where they are expected to do more than their fair share of defending. There is a big difference in that position between Howe and Ancelotti IMO.
I do think he would fit the second striker, advanced midfielder role or whatever you want to call it, but that is essentially Richarlison's position or if we play with an attacking midfielder it will be Siggurdson's position. Its also likely to be Gordon's best position and Iwobi's. Now we can all have our view on who we would prefer there but its a role that should be well down the priority list for me.

I’m prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt at the moment, he’s definitely got ability I personally think he’s come into a team that lacked any real direction in the midfield with a lot of MF players not up to the standard required, hopefully with some new additions and Ancelotti’s direction we may see what he is capable of.
But I maybe completely wrong and he doesn’t improve next season.

I've felt the same way. As much as I love Everton and football in general, I wasn't really eager to see it in its current state. It always made sense to me to just scrap it all together; that would've allowed for even better planning and safer protocol for 20/21...although I suppose rushing and making a bunch of mistakes in quick succession is a means of learning too.

A lot of our player have struggled since the restart. European football was only an outside chance and I think most player have come back with a 'Whats the point' kind of attitude. As an Everton fan, if I am honest, I already had this season as 'done with' in my head and wasn't overly bothered if it actually started again or was wrote off. I have more of an eye on next season - how did others feel? Overly bothered about a restart.?
Now as pros being paid to play, this should not happen and players should be giving their all week in week out, but human nature doesn't work that way.

think best leave him where he is - apparently couldn't hack the faster pace in Germany and then did even worst in Spain - as good as he is in Italy it doesn't sounds like he travels well. As a current challenger for this seasons European golden boot we would have to be paying significant transfer fee and big wages for him this summer - if he did flop on his travels again, next summer we would be stuck with a 31 year old on massive wages. Even though we have been offloading some, we still have too many dead weight players on massive wages that nobody is going to buy from us. Do we really want to risk adding another.
The problem with a lot of the signings we have been making since Moshiri has arrived is that we want to run before we can actually walk. Do we really have the basics of a team to make best use of a prolific goal scorer in the later part of his career? Our current strikers have lived on scrapes and in some games see very little of the ball. How would Immobile perform in our current team . We need to have a team capable of consistently creating to before we spend a load of money and wages on a player looking for his last big contract!!! money would have be the only motivation for him to come to us, the 12th placed team in the Premier league.

At least he’s been truthful with the club and supporters, his first concern is himself and his career, and if furthering his career means leaving us this or next year for the right club then he will want to take it.
I suppose it’s up to Ancelotti and the club to improve enough to make him believe his future could be here, but that would be a tough ask if Barca come knocking.

    The memories.
    1. Two goals at West Ham, one in each corner, Sheedy-esque.
    2. Right footed goal at Man City to put us two up on probably the coldest night of the year.
    3. (and best) That free kick v Newcastle, we all knew he could curl one in off his instep at will but that off the outside of his boot from such a distance curling the "wrong" way was out of this World, not even Sheeds had that in his locker. One of the finest free kicks I've ever seen.

I was much more impressed with him today. We knew he had strength and pace and he showed those physical qualities today, but he also showed that he can beat a man, and almost that he can bully a defender with his back to goal which will surely only improve as he matures.
There was a couple of times that I thought he made a half arsed run, when he should have been direct on the whole I thought he showed a presence that he hadn't showed since joining.
Furthermore the performance of DCL from the bench also shows how hard it is to come in and play 20mins and look good in this side. DCL barely had a kick much in the same way Kean has. I think this was good management by Carlo as I can imagine Kean will come out of today thinking he can be the main striker next season with a good pre-season under his belt.

What a fucking player this man is. I’m actually blown away by his performance today, you would never know he’d been out with a serious injury. He was strong on the ball and shielded it, always wanted it, and then used it intelligently - pinging balls all over the pitch and actually finding a team mate.
The difference he made when we've been subjected to Delph overhitting balls by about 15 yards and Sigurdsson playing hide and hide, is unquantifiable.

I agree with everything you said, apart from the Sidibe part. It took Aubemayang two goals before he stopped him, by that point he had won the game for Arsenal.

Gomes looked great when he came on.
    Gave it to Richarlison though.
