My Dad, dont admire anyone as much as him. If i'm half the person/father he is, i'll be happy.

Tell you what is pissing me off....the amount of shite being linked to us. And I know its pissing others off too!

Relegation threatened teams get linked to all sorts of shite....teams with around 20k at home games get linked with shite...but a team chasing CL footy? Oh fuck off!

Is it a true reflection of finances though? That does make me wonder!

I'd rather we just wait until summer than bring in some shite arse.

Thanks, so the line in the Mirror article ("The 20-year-old Belgian has been training on his own this week after Everton's interest became public and Standard went to war with his agent for revealing his fixed fee") is not exactly telling the whole story. Why am I not surprised?!

I hate these kinds of moves. Players like him and Courtois and Lukaku all dream of playing for sides competing to win the Premier League and the Champions League, they show talent so Chelsea signs these kids for money that would represent a huge gamble for a club like Everton. Less rich clubs then have to go and loan these kinds of talents cause they can't afford to buy them anymore and eventually sell them making an even bigger profit even though the player has hardly played for their team. How many times did De Bruyne play for them? Hardly ever and they more than doubled their money on him, all the while preventing clubs he would actually play for from signing him.

How much of a pay rise is that really? An extra 1.5m a year or so? I don't think that means we're gonna have to sell multiple players. Find a way to get Vellios and Gueye off the books and we already have it covered probably, even without increased income from tv deals or whatever.

He might still get sold too, we're just gonna be in a better bargaining position if Moyes comes back in for him. I would like him to stay with Everton for the rest of his career, but asset management wise it might be better to sell him. Because I do think Oviedo is good enough to be an above average starting left back for the next 8 years or so too and Baines (who is 29) could still get us that much money that if we reinvest it wisely in multiple players we could really end up better off for it.

Well, there is; actually being able to afford to spend.

Just ask Leeds if it was worth the gamble of overspending.

If Baines was younger and going to be around for a good few years then I'd think it was a good gamble, but he's not going to be a key factor in regular CL football for us (if it's to ever happen).

We'll see anyway. I'm just not wanting to be burned again like we were with Arteta and we had to have a mass sale of players.

A man called home to his wife and said, "Honey I have been asked to go fishing up in Canada with my boss and several of his friends.
We'll be gone for a week. This is a good opportunity for me to get that promotion I've been wanting, so could you please pack enough clothes for a week and set out my rod and fishing box.
We're leaving from the office and I will swing by the house to pick my things up"
"Oh! please pack my new blue silk pajamas." The wife thinks this sounds a bit fishy but being the good wife she is, did exactly what her husband asked.
The following weekend he came home, a little tired but otherwise looking good. The wife welcomed him home and asked if he caught many fish?
He said, "Yes! Lots of Salmon, some Bluegill, and a few Swordfish, but why didn't you pack my new blue silk pajamas like I asked you to do?"
The wife replied, "I did. They're in your fishing box.....

Don't worry. We buy him and send him to Chelsea in the summer hoping they think it's Lukaku!

I would sign for Milan, get a roll neck undershirt, wear gloves, grow my hair and have an alice band... it's just a cool club. I still look back at that team from the early 90's as one of the best, gullit, van basten. baresi, maldini... ace.

marcus jones reacted to FairWooney in So where are we going to finish?
I figure we'll win about 10 of our 17 games and draw 4 of the others. that gives us 34 more points and finishes us on 75pts.

That would give us 3rd or 4th place by my reckoning.

The important thing could be who we lose those 3 games to. I'd rather we lost to Sunderland (or any other bottom half team!) than to Spurs/Liverpool/Man Utd or the top 3 sides. Those points taken off them could be vital.

Been socuting around Wigan forums and they were very very impressed with him when he came on in the second half as a RB. Said whenever he was in a 50/50 challenge he simply brushed them off with ease. Was bombing up and down the wing apparently and is very very quick. Really excited about him now. Has any one else heard that Stubbs has called Browning the best 1 v 1 defender in the club (including senior members)? Hell of a compliment that when I personally think Jags is one of the best in the prem in 1 v 1. Looks a right beast of a player who has incredible physical attributes.

I don't agree. With Alcaraz alongside, he looked assured. Today, he looked vulnerable.

I'm with Cornish Steve on Stones having a poor game today. He allowed Hooper that great chance early on, played Van Wolfswinkel onside for a good chance and misjudged a few other things. He did make a few great, composed plays though to make up for it. I'm thinking maybe some of these issues come down to Jags not being the best partner for him.

Very similar to what I remember of Anders Limpar.... who is one of my favourite Everton players of recent years.

He needs to go, and today's performance maybe increased his price. I'd much rather plan for the future than linger in the past.
