I fucking hate them and I hope us, Forest, Leicester (and whoever they decide to target next while they avoid the big fish of City and Chelsea) bring the whole thing tumbling down.

The last few years of being a supporter has been an absolute drain on my love for the game. I hate conspiracy theories, but I can't feel anything other than we're absolutely being targeted by the PL. The inconsistent nature of these penalties is so laughable and obvious.
I'm still holding out a little bit of hope that an appeal will knock it down to zero. I still think we'll stay up even if the 2 points stand though.

Copied from The BBC Sport pages.

Everton's points penalty hurts the club at the worst time, according to former Toffees chief executive Keith Wyness.
A two-point deduction for breaching profit and sustainability rules has dropped the club to 16th in the Premier League.
They are two points above the relegation zone having already been hit with a six-point punishment, reduced from 10 after an appeal for an earlier breach.
Nottingham Forest, 17th in the table, were hit with a four-point deduction last month and are appealing.
"These clouds have been hanging over Forest and Everton and this is a time when you have players deciding if they are going to move on, it’s the time when they make these decisions with their agent," said Wyness, who was Everton's chief executive between 2004 and 2008.
"This goes way beyond a points deduction of 'two points and that’s all it is'. It impacts the club in so many ways. You can’t get sponsors to commit because they don’t know what division they will be in next year, you can’t get players to commit.
"The impact goes way beyond what should be considered a fair penalty for a breach."

And I fully agree. The psychological factor cannot be neglected.

like an oracle. The deduction is exactly between 1 and 3 points.

I'm less fussed about 2 points being deducted this go around than I am the process in general. It's just been one giant circus.

Doucoure definitely cares mate. I'm not a fan of him as a footballer technically speaking but I won't fault his hear or effort.
Onana is a tough one, he has moments or glimpses where he can run the midfield on his own but then puts in a tedious job back on a counter. I'll give him benefit of the doubt but I definitely want to see more from him, as we know he can do it but it will only increase his price when he undoubtedly leaves.

He has not lost the players, but they are lacking confidence, and the long ball all the time is not helping.
He needs to have better tactics, learn how to use subs more effectively and never pick Young again.
We need to not offer him a new contract.

It's not a mystery that Evertonians will get behind a player that works his arse off.  Denis Straq is one of the worst players we've seen but the endearing memory was him running his arse into the ground.

Marcus Bent, Steven Naismith, Kevin Kilbane, Richarlison, Gana,  - all players who weren't as technical as others but their efforts in the shirt will stand long in the memory.

McNeil came off that pitch knowing that never matter how bad his touch etc on the day is - all he needs to do is  bust a gut and we will love him.
hopefully the likes of Onana seen it too.

Said it in the match day thread about the crowd. If there’s one thing our lot appreciate is someone working their guts off & it will never go unnoticed.

when you look back to forests 4 points, I think we have already been harshly treated with the 6 we have already had taken off us.
It will be a real kick in the teeth to loose more points this season.
We should be sitting in a relatively relaxed position of 35 points with 7 games to go.
Instead we are on a very uncomfortable 29 points, sweating on us having the 4 points earn taken this past week off us.
    1) The commision have a straight forward get out clause to give use zero points this time around - 6 points penalty (less 4 becasue we have been penilised for 2/3) plus 2 point off for being helpful (as Forest go). So 0 points deduction. Given we got a harsh 6 points last time, then a generouse 0 this time around would be fairer balance overall. A outside possibility, but I don't see this happening
    2) or 6 points (less to 2 points for being helpful), so 4  the same as Forest. Then factor in the 2/3 of the period already having been punished, so 1/3 being - 1.22 points - do they round to 1 point or take the 0.22 as a point as well - A case for 1 or possibly 2.
    3) The give us exactely the same as Forst - substancial beach but we worked with the PL and they take no notice of the fact we have already been punished for two of the three years - 4 points - this would be very harsh.
4)All of our disclaimers on why the account are over this period (lost sponsorship due to Ukraine, Stadium costs etc) are upheld by the commission and we are found to be exhonorated of the charge in this accounting period. 0 points.
My gut feeling is we will get 1 point deduction based on arguement 2) and would only get 0 points if 4) us upheld.

I think it would be a lot more controversial if you said he was clinical. Anyone who has ever seen him play will know that he has all the tools to be a top class centre forward ( work rate, touch, attitude, physicality, speed, positioning) except for finishing

We need a creative or opportunistic striker given our poor squad.

Beyonce's new album, Cowboy Carter. I think it's kind of a masterpiece. The variety in style and genre across the album is something I've never heard her do.
There's the obvious country influences and her usual r&b, but there's heavy singer/songwriter vibes, straight pop songs, folk. She even busts out what I can only describe as an operatic aria at one point.
    Highly highly recommend for all.

This is all getting so frustrating. Given the limbo we are in then, a new owners should give the same 'bounce' effect as a new manager coming in to the club. We are in danger of even missing out on this short term 'positive' of a new enthusiastic owner coming in to the club.
We are counting every point at the moment - so any sort of 'boost' would be very much welcome. This short term 'bounce' could easliy be worth 6 points or more - we have not been massively outplayed in games, and results have been down to fairly tight margins, I feel the optomisum of a new ownership permeating around the club could have been massivley beneficial in the bad run of results we are in.
If the PL are taking their time over this because there focus has been on FFP hearings, then we really have had the shit end of the stick with double whammy of a points deductions (or two!), and currently missing out on a potential new optomisum bounce.
I cant wait for this season to be finished and it fuck all to do with the football or board at the club this time around. All pretty much down to the PL and the fact its as poorly run as Everton football club has been run in the past. As fans we have suffered our own internal shortcoming, but we also seem to be the fans suffering the most from PL shortcoming as well.

Thought I wouldn't be writing in this topic much 🙈
It feels very much in our own hands fixture wise. 8 games to go. 5 of those against teams in 15th, 17th, 18th, 19th & 20th.
Really hope that, even though it was a penalty, DCL gets a boost in confidence. A nice 5 or so goals could make a big difference for us.
All in absolute hope of course!!!

Outstanding MOTM performance, and what impressed me most was that he kept his head whilst being jeered at all night, something he’s fallen foul of previously. He does seem happy here so as long as we maintain PL status I can see him staying for long time to come.
