Wall Writer reacted to Romey 1878 in Sean Dyche
If he's worried about having credit with podcasters then he's as big a wet wipe as those podcasters.
I find it all a bit pathetic really. We all sit here and judge the manager and say our bit, call him useless, criticise him, act like we know better and can do a better job, some even put it all over the internet on famous podcasts, and the moment he needles back a bit some get all touchy about it.
If you're gonna throw shit out there, don't react like a little bitch when some of it is returned.

Given the preponderance of the word 'mate' in this thread, I thought I'd enlighten non-British TT members. As per the article quoted below, "mate is used as a term of endearment, but also frequently used to casually ingratiate oneself with a stranger or new acquaintance." Another meaning can be seen in "oi, watch it mate", which is a term meant neither to endear nor to ingratiate but to intimidate. Mate can also connote a sexual partner. In other words, 'mate' in Britain can mean just about anything. Which of the four meanings do Shukes and Palfy intend when calling each other mate? I wouldn't want to hazard a guess, mate.

At last some dialogue this is what we need.
regardless of the outcome eventually we have to accept 777 into our club we are in a financial mess and in danger of going under.

He also made two passes with his right foot during the game!
I actually laughed out loud when he did the first one and everyone around me at the game was looking at me because they had no idea what I'd found funny .

Wall Writer reacted to Hafnia in Longest Thread! for Everton Discussion
Personally I’m made up. Got some castore gear and it’s spot on. They actually get creative - you can buy decent hoodies, golf gear etc with your team on. The hoodies and polos are top notch.
People pissing the bed over Villa footy shirts looking sweaty, I’ve not seen an Everton player sweat in years.

Wall Writer reacted to Bailey in Ashley Young
I don't really understand the criticism of Young. I think he has been a very solid defender, which unfortunately can't be said about our other options in that position. His positioning compared to Mykolenko is like chalk and cheese.
I have been disappointed with his attacking output, because the quality hasn't been there. Which again fits with our other options in the position.
I also cant have him being responsible for the first goal either. It comes at him at an awkward height. He has reacts as best as he can but the attacker is on him. The problem is losing the header in the first place.

It didn't look it but I don't remember the last time we had that much possession and that many shots. Again, not good enough but it's progress in the right direction.

I get that, but this is one of those "written in the stars" games. We were never going to win today, despite 25 shots and 60% possession!

Wall Writer got a reaction from Matt in Sean Dyche
He’s definitely earned some brownie points in the last two games.
We have a tendency to punt a few too many hopeful and ill-aimed balls forward, but maybe we can put that down to the team being in transition.
Obviously, if we keep this up, the energy and the creating (and putting away) chances then we’ll have a much better season than we have done recently.
I think we are still going to need to be lucky with injuries, or the lack thereof.
We’ve had two good performances and two good results. Now it’s the consistency over the next couple of games that I’ll be looking for.
Edit: I’ll add this as well. Although, I hope not to find us in this situation, I’ll be interested to see how we react to going behind. Have we got the mental strength to maintain belief in that situation.

Wall Writer reacted to duncanmckenzieismagic in Amadou Onana
I suspect it’s a case of enjoy him while we can, because the so called bigger clubs are already circling, but I would love to see us build a side around Onana and Garner
Even if he does go though it will be for a tidy profit and is exactly the model we should be following, at least until we get into a position of being able to match the ambition of players of his calibre. Although sadly I think those days are gone forever the way the game is structured now

Wall Writer got a reaction from StevO in Arnaut Danjuma
For me, Gray had a tendency to hold up play too often. He'd stand nonchalantly on the ball waiting for something to happen. In the meantime, it gave the other team chance to get back and get organised.
Danjuma seems to be much more keen to run into the box and try to get a shot off.

You mean "let's ignore what he's good at and focus on the bad stuff that's usually not in his remit?". We can get the title changed in preparation

He should have been paying to 'play' for us too, the carthorse.

Wall Writer reacted to badaids in Aston Villa (Away) Wednesday 27th September
I have worked with Brighton a bit. From top to bottom they are a tight and well run club, know their place, realistic objectives, properly managed, coached. That translates on to the pitch - so their managers and players are the icing on the cake. They pump their stocks and sell them on at a profit.
Southampton used to be the same, until they sold to the current nutters they have in charge.
We are the opposite of Brighton.

Wall Writer reacted to Goodison Glory in Aston Villa (Away) Wednesday 27th September
Brighton are freaking amazing. Really outpunching their wage bill....absolute class at unearthing gems and selling them on...even after they lost Potter and their DOF (who went to NCL I think) they have continued to deliver in this area.

Wall Writer reacted to RuffRob in Aston Villa (Away) Wednesday 27th September
Something last nights game does highlight is there is actually only a fine line between a team chasing the last European league places and those potentially battling relegation. A few key players in the team and a little bit of confidence make a huge difference. As the away team we looked good value at both Brentford and Villa - and ultimately deserved both the wins.
Back this up with a couple of good home wins now, and we then change from that team that the oppositions see as a easy meal to the team they are actually not looking forward to playing. Just losing the sad club in crisis tag would be a big improvment this season.

Wall Writer reacted to RuffRob in James Garner
Never got going last season due to injury set back. I was impressed with how the young lad did in Forests promotion season, and I felt it was good business getting him in at £15M last summer.
I have been looking forward to seeing him getting up to speed and not been disappointed now he is getting a good run in the team. I think there is plenty more to come from him and his goal will have given him great confidence.

Wall Writer reacted to Matt Tiger in Arnaut Danjuma
His decision making is absolutely frustrating at times but I feel that we're consistently more dangerous with him on the ball than I felt with Gray. No idea if that's actually true or not mind you, just the feeling I get when he's attacking vs Gray.
