I doubt that it will come anytime soon, they'll probably bring out a few games with another title rather than a number. You know, like Vice City and San Andreas. I heard that GTA V is being kept under wraps until a next-gen console comes out as there was so much left out of GTA IV because both the PS3 and 360 didn't have the power or memory to run it all.

I've played it. It's alright...

Something to do when you're bored with only your PC at your disposal more than anything!

How's assassins creed? Love that game! I can't afford it though, even though I blew £50 at the casino last night

Idiot...

Games under £10 there for PS3 ;)

Any idea if the BluRay discs are region coded like DVDs? Ive looked online but its not entirely clear. It seems they still are, but instead of being regions 1 (US) 2 (Europe) 3 (elsewhere, i think!) theyre now A, B and C? I heard that games are global, doesnt matter where you buy them then play them, but for films it might. Any clues?

Haven't had issues with any of the films I've bought from US and UK... There's actually a forum if you google it, has a list of all Bluray's and their region status, ie: whether or not the region encoding actually works/is enforced..

Here ya go:

Cheers dude, mustnt have been updated for a bit though, Up! is missing (for the missus).

Right next question.... I live in Switzerland and when i go to create my ID, i can only chose German, French or Italian, which i can speak quite well but not fluently (well, not italian) and theres a fair bit of technical crap. If i choose UK, will that affect anything later on like buying games, online playing etc? Reason being i bought this thing to relax, not to be a bloody homework assignment each time i use it!

edit: just found this, reasonably up to date:

Can someone clarify something for me...Josh plays Stargate Resistance a lot, downloaded through Steam, and they've recently put out this message...

Dear Valued Customer,

On November 16, 2010, the License Agreement between Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment, Inc. and MGM Interactive, Inc. expired. As a result, Cheyenne will no longer be able to offer Stargate Resistance for sale to new customers. However, in the best interests of our customers, game play will be provided for a period of 60 days (until January 15, 2011) to customers who purchased Stargate Resistance prior to November 16, 2010. Look for more information as it becomes available.

So does this mean it's no longer going to be playable at all (after 15/1)? It'd suggest that it only works online and not as a self contained game.

If so, how can that be? It's like buying a CD and being told you can't play it anymore  .

Who can I sue?

Unfortunately they are not legally required to provide servers beyond a certain point. Online game servers (When provided directly by the developer rather than the community) always have a limited lifespan. And you have no entitlement to the developer providing support beyond a reasonable timeframe. Unfortunately Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment have been in receivership since early this year and MGM obviously cannot allow a shell of a company with no future hold the license for a franchise with such potential.

Stargate Resistance itself is only a hobbled together game built from the scraps of the MMO Stargate Worlds that Cheyenne were developing prior to their financial difficulties which they sold to another developer to raise cash. I didn't even know they managed to release it and all sources seem to suggest that it's utter shite!

In future when buying an online-only (or an online heavy game like Call of Duty) game that doesn't require a post-purchase subscription check that it has been reviewed well or popular enough as a game will only be supported for as long as it is profitable for the developer to do so. Also check whether or not the game developer directly provide the game servers or only operate a master 'list' server. Directly provided servers are always a flashing warning sign to me as developers can shut them down at any stage. A master 'list' server that only lists all the available community servers is far far cheaper and allows for games to survive for decades in some cases (Such as the older Quakes/Dooms and most notably Counter-Strike)
