Romey 1878
I'd rather we got Naughton but he wouldn't be a bad alternative at the right price.
jamiemaher85
Pretty much the same view i'm taking. I'd much prefer Naughton but Hutton has looked pacy when i've seen him, not too sure about his crossing ability though. Spurs fans are very divided on him. c1982
He'd be better than naughton immediately if fully fit - he was quality, okay he was playing in scotland but he looked the bizz for scotland too. At the right price I'd have him definately. Him or naughton - it's a toss up for me!
Adpom
is he the one who has never won a game as a spurs player when he's on the pitch?
MikeO
is he the one who has never won a game as a spurs player when he's on the pitch? Someone said that was Gareth Bale. Hutton was in the side that won the Carling Cup so it's not him.
StevO
he was brilliant for rangers. id like him, but if £9m is the fee i reckon you could get johnson for that, especially while the red shite have no money to buy him.
Guest efctaxi
Jacobsen looks a very capable right back , and he would be free . Concentrate our funds on other positions , and review the situation in January if it's not working .

Concentrate our funds on other positions , and review the situation in January if it's not working . what he said, if jacob stays we'll have 3 people who can play RB, and that Seamus Coleman if we're desperate

aaron
If we cant get Naughton then i'd be happy with Hutton but not at a £9m price tag
Memmaclub
Kipper are linking us with him again this morning. Sounds a better option that Naughton but again do we need a new right back if Jacobsen signs.
marcopaulo
i'd have naughton anyday over hutton never liked him

Lowensda
I'd take Hutton, international, expierienced at top level. Still young really, and has a good cross on him wouldnt pay more than 6m for him tho, similar to Baines' price would do me.
chicagoblue
If he can't get in ahead of Chimbonda or Corluka do we really think he can cut it in this league. I didn't see him play much for Rangers but he hasn't impressed in the PL as yet.
Romey 1878
If Spurs are wanting £9million for him then I'd rather we just pay the £7million to get Naughton tbh.
c1982
At £5 or 6m I'd have him, he looked the deal playing for scotland against some very good opposition.
Heather_6
I've never seen him play, or I have but have never taken any notice. What's he like?
pete0
rather have corluka off them if we to buy a rb, we should'nt be buyin 3rd choice players off teams who are not as good as us, would be a huge step backwards.

Hutton's quality, he's only been 3rd choice because of injuries. It doesn't matter who we buy off and where they are in the peckking order at their current club - what choice would he be at us? Probably 1st! David Bentley is their 2nd or 3rd choice RM - would you not have him?! As for corluka - yes he's quality - no he's not available. aaron
Their "3rd choice" is alot better than our first choice, so no its not a step backward, its forward. Im with mark though, if they want £9m i'd rather just pay the asking fee for Naughton.
w111alg
I follow Rangers as well. Seen a lot of hutton when he was with the Gers. he is a quality player. Very attacking minded defender, good on the ball and would be delighted to see him at Goodison.

GMorrison183
Honestly a mil more than I would've liked to see us pay (did Tottenham somehow turn a profit on this after how little he showed there?) but he's young and can step in at RB on day one. I'm getting the impression that one 3rd CB come the start of the season (until Jags is back) will be the immortal Tony Hibbert!
Bill
Not a bad player when he's fit, but that seems to be a saying we Evertonians are becoming too familiar with, it seems we are becoming something of a rehabilitation centre for ailing footballers. We never seem to go to Harrods for our shopping, its always the pound shop. I would rather have seen pip go fullback and spend the money on another position, but hey this is Everton. Moe Joe
He's a good right back. Problem is, we need CB cover.

Thats because we cant afford to shop at Harrods we would probably be more likely to go to Aldi if we ever got around to getting any shopping done
