Romey 1878
Not surprised but, like you said, it's a shame. Lots of talent but hasn't got the brain to handle it by the looks of things.
Hafnia
Tragic. There's more to life than football, hope he finds his peace. Clearly troubled. I'd sooner shovel crap and be happy than play football and be miserable. Maybe he needs time out. Be with his family and get right. Shukes
Shame...really shame. The lad had the talent, but like so many...didn't have the attitude.
Matt
Probably have been, but there comes a time when you have to pull the plug; some people won't be helped.True. Just thought, since the lad put himself in rehab, maybe he'd get a year to prove he's capable of turning himself around. It may have already happened, we'll never know. Good luck, George. Good luck, George. i had the same thinking matt, maybe since the incident he's relapsed or shown that he's not willing to improve yet hence the release. i wonder if a lower league side will pick him up? Hafnia
It's upset me this. Not just because I wanted to see a class act play for Everton, but only yesterday he was a kid moving from Bradford to Liverpool and clearly it's impacted him. Romey 1878
It didn't take him long to find a new club - he's signed for Oldham.
Hafnia
It didn't take him long to find a new club - he's signed for Oldham. Billy Kenny and Jose Baxter went there after being released by Everton. A bit of a half way house.

Hafnia
Had the pleasure of speaking to Jimmy Harvey last week. Didn't realise he was now coach at Oldham. He said he can't wait to work with Green. "All the talent in the world" - not sure why he was released but based on what he sees there is massive potential there. I don't think it's the last we've seen of this lad, maybe lower league will humble him and kick him on. Matt

Hafnia
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/dec/17/george-green-ossett-everton-oldham-tranmere Interesting read. Basically nothing to do with drinks or drugs, attitude problem stemming from inner difficulties. Alot has to be said for having players at home till they are at the right age. Good to see he's finally realised a few things, and also good to know we did everything we could for him and didn't just abandon him at the first sign of trouble. I thought the same Mark. He didn't have nice things to say about Bradford but at least we did all we could, I hope he's able to turn it around.
