Guys dont know if this is the correct part of the forum but looking to help out some Everton fans. I am coming down to Liverpool for my stag at the weekend and have a bunch of tickets for the game on Sunday. However I know do not need 2 of them. They are in the paddock row 8, face value of £35 each. Will sell the pair for £60 and will be in Liverpool on Friday night/ all day saturday. Anyone interested pm me,

Utterly bored? If not skip this post.

I'm bored so here's my FM nous at work, looking at the likely Spurs team, I'm hoping Barkley comes in to terrorise Sandro (as THFC has stated he's been pretty solid of late). Ross will lose the ball more often than not, but with his flair he should beat his man and create a few more opportunities for Jelavic who will have an easier time sitting on a tired 4th choice centre half. Allows Felli to drop back into his natural position and battle his fellow countryman, and push Osman out wide for the out of sorts Naismith and to cover Felli getting forward. Ideally Oviedo would come in to deal with Lennon's pace and give Pienaar a kick up the jacksy. Same back 4 as last week as non were at fault last week.

Spurs right side of Walker/Lennon should play into our hands. Spurs aren't very good away against the top sides either, never earned a win last season against the others in the top 7, and with a large chunk of luck to end that run this season at OT.

Will be disappointed with anything other than 3 points.

They have a Europa game midweek and their squad isn't what it used to be. Should be a comfortable win, hopefully it is. 3-0, 3 points long over due as is a clean sheet and a couple of goals for Jelavic.

For the record, this season Spurs have won four of their Premier League games immediately after a midweek Europa League match and lost the fifth away at Manchester City.

Hardly the most difficult set of fixtures in the league. QPR (h), Villa (h), Soton (a), and West Ham (h). I'd judge a trip to Goodison closer to City away.

You can only beat who you have in front of you.

An 80% winning record in games immediately after a Europa League match is very impressive - better than our record when we haven't had to play European games in midweek.

We may not all agree on the final score in this one, but looking at the posts I think most of us can agree that is a bloody hard game to call on.

All things considered Everton should win. Spurs put up a good showing, and the ref gets in the way a bit.cool.png

What will likely happen:

Spurs will win, the ref puts up a good showing and Everton get in the way a bit. crying%20smiley.gifdoh.gif

This match has me worried. They have been playing well lately and have a lot of attacking players in their squad. We have been letting silly goals past us and i can deffo see Spurs going 1 up early on. Hopefully Everton can claw it back and go into the half time break with a 2-1 lead.

Come out to second half and hold on for dear life.

Everton win 2-1

Dembele, Fellaini and Gibson

I take your point but when Dembele was out injured, it was usually Tom Huddlestone who partnered Sandro in central midfield.

Now that Scott Parker looks like he's ready to play for the first time this season, it will be interesting to see who AVB gives the nod to, as Sandro has been exceptionally solid for Spurs this season.

So I'd say that the more defensive central midfielder is a choice between Sandro & Parker, while the more attacking or creative one is a choice between Dembele and Huddlestone.

Yeh see I would have Dembele over Huddlestone in a heartbeat! :)

Dembele certainly has all the attributes to be a top player, he just doesnt put them all together often enough IMO... A bit like Nani for Utd.

We made much harder work of Panathinaikos than we ought to have done, but that's pretty much been the story of our season so far.

Goals for Adebayor and Defoe (his 13th of the season) and an excellent performance from Clint Dempsey underlined the strength of Tottenham's attacking options.

There were no injuries to report, so I would expect a similar line-up to last night's match with Lloris and Dembele replacing Friedel and Carroll for Sunday at Goodison.

BTW, if Spurs do manage a win on Sunday it would make Andre Villas-Boas Tottenham's most successful manager, statistically speaking, since the club joined the Football League in 1908.

Mark Lawrenson is a big fan of Everton this season - he's got you in second place in the Table on 38 points after his predicted 2-0 home win on Sunday....

Yep!.......Lawrenson had us down as winning the last 6 games....not exactly 'mystic Mark' is he.

Spurs, to come to Goodison to attack.....and lose!

We could have Mirallas back http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php which would be a huge bonus against a team like Spurs. I think Moyes selection and tactics could prove crucial in this game, we need to get control out wide so we can stop them running at us, need Baines and Pienaar to have good games, then i think we can get a win no problem. However if we decide to dither and sit back firing long balls then we could end up on the end of a thrashing if we are not careful, Spurs have good players and are in form at the moment. A win would really put things back on track again, lift the spirits, 2-0

last nights game, of which I totally forgot all about, was their 100th game in the UEFA cup / Europa League (twice winners) so it was a nice milestone to make progress with.

Into the last 32 for them, but there's a hell of a long way to go yet, and a lot of very good teams still in (Ajax Amsterdam will participate now and one to watch) and it's a very hard competition to win, so good luck with that..

Have to say, last nights result did us no favors, as an elimination surely would have been beneficial to us. Going to be that little bit tougher now and they'll be more up for this now.

AVB ON EVERTON:

Andre Villas-Boas is looking to maintain our fine form in the Premier League - but knows we’re in for a test at Everton on Sunday.

We travel to Merseyside for a 3pm kick-off on the back of three-successive wins in the Premier League - nine points in the space of six days last week that lifted us up to fourth place.

But Andre is well aware that Goodison Park is one of the toughest away trips around and the Toffees remain unbeaten on home soil this season.

Indeed, David Moyes’ men have lost just twice in the Premier League all season but they’ve drawn eight of their 15 games so far.

“It’s a very difficult game, one of the most difficult,” said Andre.

“We want to continue with our momentum, continue to play well, we’re five games unbeaten (including the Europa League) with four wins and let’s hope we can maintain our form in the Premier League.

“It will be an extremely competitive game and a tough place to go to.

"Everton are rested, it’s a difficult ground and a competitive team. We need to recover our players and by winning and qualifying for the Europa League (against Panathinaikos on Thursday night), I’m sure we’ll get them recovering quickly.”

Normally I wish Everton all the best of luck but not tomorrow.

We haven't done that well up at Goodison recently and I feel tomorrows game will be no different, Everton have a better balance than spurs and are a harder team than we are so I predict 3-1 Everton as you always like to burst our bubbles.

What a difference a year makes, last year when I used to come on here you had just sold Arteta and there was a lot of doom and gloom, you played us at the lane and most were predicting a defeat, but the match was a very tight affair, and it was only a fuck up by Baines that allowed Lennon to score and we grabbed the victory, in the return fixture there was a bit more optimism, and the Everton defeat and the following loss to Narch at home a week later ended hopes of a 3rd place finish.it also appears you are not missing Arteta that much and I fancy Everton for a top 4 finish above us but behind the two Manchester clubs and Chelscum,

But forgive me for wanting us to make it 5 wins on the bounce and I wish all the best for the rest of the season, except for the return fixture

PS I have really missed Marco's pearls of wisdom and sorry for not being on here much, but my wife doesn't let me on here much, since she discovered there is Porn on the internet.

I wish she would look at Porn Mike, I am thinking of suing her under the trades and descriptions act for misrepresentation, as before I married her she was a nymphomaniac, I think there is some secret ingredient in wedding cake that only affects the bride, as soon as they have a piece all their interest in sexual activity vanishes or they just can't be bothered as they think they've got you now you poor bastard, you thought you'd get it every night and never need to wank again its a very special powerful hold they have over us don't be fooled. and then they get the arse if they catch you looking at other women and take the moral high ground over Porn, cheeky fuckers.

Interestingly I never knew big Pat Jennings played for Everton

He never did I don't think.....signed briefly as cover but never played as far as I recall.

Great 'keeper though....one of the best, and a nice bloke as well.
